Chapter 1047: A Man, From the North
Huang He sat in the front row, a chill flashing in his eyes.
He snorted coldly and casually reached out. The judge, who moments ago had been pronouncing Chen Ling's sentence, suddenly moved through the air directly in front of him, hurtling headfirst into Chen Ling's "Sleeve-Waving Heaven-Shattering" attack.
Splat—!!
The judge's body was instantly pulverized. Blood and mangled flesh scattered like fireworks, raining down from every direction in the courtroom. A thick, metallic smell of blood filled the entire space.
The fleeing reporters swarmed towards the courtroom doors and yanked them open with force. But behind the doors was not the street they had imagined, but a mysterious, bubble-like shell.
This Court of Justice had long been separated from the outside space. Outsiders couldn't enter, and those inside naturally couldn't leave.
Everyone was stunned. As the judge's shattered remains rained down from above and the strong smell of blood filled their nostrils, they immediately began to vomit violently, their faces as pale as paper.
Chen Ling, moving with his Cloud Steps, saw the scene outside the doors from the corner of his eye and knew that conventional means would likely not allow escape. He decisively changed direction and charged straight towards Huang He to kill him.
Since escaping this space was impossible, the only way out was to kill Huang He. Huang He's ability seemed to be controlling stolen corpses, while the woman's power appeared limited to spatial concealment, lacking offensive capabilities. Chen Ling had two lives; gritting his teeth, there might still be a glimmer of hope.
But the next moment, Chen Ling realized things weren't that simple.
Before he could even reach Huang He, his limbs again fell limply as if out of his control. He stumbled, falling directly from his Cloud Steps. Yet, before he could hit the ground, a female corpse simultaneously rushed towards him.
Thump, thump, thump—!!
Under Huang He's control, the female corpse landed several punches on Chen Ling. At this moment, Chen Ling was completely unable to resist, letting the blows land on him. A mysterious force directly twisted his flesh, tearing eight fist-sized blood holes into his body.
A blood-stained theatrical robe heavily fell onto the courtroom floor.
Scarlet blood continuously coughed from Chen Ling's throat. He couldn't even use his hands to support his body. With his limbs stolen by the King of Silver, his frontal combat ability was virtually zero.
From Chen Ling's sudden outburst to the judge's death, and then Huang He's suppression of Chen Ling, it all took less than ten seconds. All the reporters stared blankly at the scene, seemingly unable to process what had just happened.
"Why are you still standing there?" Huang He said, glancing indifferently at them.
"Chen Ling, the World-Eradicating Fusionist, refused to plead guilty, erupted violently in court, and brutally murdered the judge... Make sure to emphasize this point in your articles."
The reporters exchanged glances, then forced themselves to suppress their physical discomfort, stepping over the judge's remains to return to their seats and swiftly record Huang He's words.
Seeing this, Chen Ling mockingly laughed from the pool of blood:
"To frame me, you even actively sent the judge presiding over my trial to my blade... It seems you are the one among all the Thief Saints who most resembles the King of Silver."
"In terms of work ability, I'm not as good as Chi Tong. In terms of closeness to the King, I'm not as good as Lan Yu. In terms of strength, I'm not as good as Mo Lian. In terms of talent, I'm not as good as Bai Ye... To continue operating under the title of Thief Saint, I need some unique specialty," Huang He replied indifferently.
Chen Ling's limbs were controlled, supporting him as he slowly rose from the pool of blood. Then, with blood holes all over his body, he stood in the defendant's dock, like a puppet without freedom.
"Continue," Huang He said.
"Continue? But... but the judge is gone... Who will continue the sentencing?"
"You. You be the judge."
Huang He casually pointed at a reporter, who looked utterly bewildered.
"Me? But I don't understand law at all, I'm just a reporter..."
"Stand up there. The words are on the paper; just read them aloud."
Under Huang He's pressure, the reporter had no choice but to bite the bullet and walk to the judge's position. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched the blood-soaked Chen Ling not far away, seemingly afraid that he might charge over next and hack him to death.
"Defendant Chen Ling, disregarded court order, committed murder on the spot, atrocious and wild, utterly arrogant..."
A red thread swayed in Liu Qingyan's hand, extending into an unknown void.
Her black skirt fluttered gently in the wind. Liu Qingyan's steps were light and agile as she stared intently at the end of the red thread, as if diligently searching for something.
"Who is this girl?" Sun Bumian leaned close to Jian Changsheng's ear and whispered.
"I don't know her very well either, I only saw her once before in the Mortal Realm... But it seems she's a Red Heart follower?"
"Follower?? Has Red Heart started developing a cult?!"
"Probably not... Anyway, she can pinpoint Red Heart's location. Last time we followed her, we even found the Floating Life Painting's lair. She's like a very impressive human detector."
"Then it seems we're good..."
Jiang Xiaohua, standing nearby, hesitated as if to speak.
"Block, what do you want to say now?" Jian Changsheng asked, noticing her out of the corner of his eye.
"Um..." Jiang Xiaohua pointed at the coffin behind Liu Qingyan. "That thing has been emitting some kind of aura... it's... it's making me feel cold."
"Cold air? Why don't I feel anything?"
"Me neither."
Jiang Xiaohua shook her head and said no more, but her gaze remained fixed on the coffin, as if staring directly at something within.
"Wait... look there." Sun Bumian suddenly spoke, pointing towards a wall not far away.
They were now at the edge of the Boundless Domain. Sun Bumian was pointing at the high wall that encircled the Boundless Domain, built to defend against calamities. However, the wall broken by the Twilight Society and their group was in the west, and they were currently at the northern wall.
But now, there was also a massive gap in the northern wall. Although its radius wasn't as large as the one blasted by Ning Ruyu's gun, its cross-section was incredibly smooth, not appearing forcefully broken through, but rather dissolved by some mysterious power.
The group stopped at the gap in the wall. A cold north wind, mixed with a faint scent of blood, surged in from the Grey Realm beyond the wall, making their clothes flap noisily.
"The smell of calamity's blood..." Jian Changsheng's nose twitched slightly as he spoke with confusion. "Besides the Twilight Society, has someone else invaded the Boundless Domain?"
"There are footprints on the ground."
Sun Bumian bent down, looking at the wall's opening. A trail of bloody footprints stretched all the way to the end of the Grey Realm, as if someone had fought their way through from within the Grey Realm.
"Only one person?" Jian Changsheng scratched his head.
"Alone, from the north, fighting their way through the Grey Realm... Who could it be?"
Before they could investigate the footprints further, Liu Qingyan's voice suddenly rang out from ahead:
"I've found Sir Chen Ling's location."
