Clang—Clang—Clang—

Amidst the world spinning, Zheng Zhiqin vaguely saw a gigantic red paper shadow streak across the sky, shattering the convoy and simultaneously chasing straight after the lead vehicle. Then, a dizzying sensation made her nearly vomit, and she couldn't even tell which way was up.

The heavy steel vehicle tumbled downhill like a rolling stone. However, thanks to its sturdy support frame, it barely warped or twisted. It only came to a slow halt after crashing into and toppling several trees.

Zheng Zhiqin was trapped in the inverted driver's seat. She dry-heaved several times, then tried to open the car door, only to find the door frame twisted and deformed, preventing it from being pushed open normally.

“Damn it!! Are you just picking on me?!” A surge of anger welled up in Zheng Zhiqin. She kicked out directly.

Thud—!

The heavy steel battle vehicle was instantly kicked open, leaving a gaping hole as if it were made of paper. The hundred-kilogram door soared into the sky, only to fall back down a moment later, crashing into the ground like a meteorite.

Covered in dirt, Zheng Zhiqin climbed out of the gap and stood on the twisted vehicle body. Just as she was about to pursue the lead car, an electric arc streaked out of nowhere.

“…Hm?” The woman turned her head, looking puzzled.

Crackling—

The high-voltage power lines above suddenly seemed to be yanked by invisible hands, snapping violently in the middle. A dozen or so wires dangled from the high-voltage tower, writhing like black snakes in the air. Dense, deep-blue electric arcs wove together into a giant net under the night sky!

“Finally caught up…” Beneath the dim power tower, a figure slowly walked towards her.

As his palm lifted into the air, the steel battle vehicle behind Zheng Zhiqin suddenly levitated. It was effortlessly crumpled into a high-density sphere, which then flew above the figure.

Deep blue high-voltage electricity surged over the surface of the steel sphere. It resembled a destructive, deep-blue scorching sun, ignited in the darkness!

Under the blinding electric light, Yang Xiao's face slowly lifted: “I'm sorry… I cannot let you leave here.”

Buzz—

As dense red paper burst forth from the ground, the extra-long van was nearly cut in half. Several tires were shredded one after another, and the vehicle began to swerve wildly, out of control!

At the same time, a massive character for ‘Swift’ (疾) flashed above the foremost lead car. The commercial vehicle's speed instantly exploded like lightning, narrowly avoiding the red paper's obstruction, and vanished at an astonishing pace down the road.

A swirling cloud of red paper flew over the van, hot on its trail.

“What was that?!?” The three university students in the driver's cab stared wide-eyed in shock, seemingly unable to comprehend what was happening.

“Is it some kind of divine power?”

“No… that's impossible. What it's emitting doesn't feel like a divine aura at all…”

“Did you hear the car's audio system just now?”

“We did… but we clearly cut off communications. Who was talking just now??”

“Stabilize the car first!! We're about to flip!”

Under these circumstances, the three university students immediately regained their composure, frantically steering the wheel, trying to regain control of the runaway vehicle. However, the car's inertia was too great after its modifications, and the original braking system seemed to have failed, providing no effect whatsoever.

The massive, hundreds-of-tons behemoth sped wildly across the ground. Damaged wheel hubs scraped against the asphalt, throwing off blinding sparks. Amidst the shaking afterimages, a white-clad figure suddenly appeared directly in front of the vehicle…

“Someone's up ahead!!” one of the university students exclaimed instantly!

The corners of the white training uniform fluttered in the gale stirred up by the van. As a fair hand lifted, the roaring steel behemoth instantly disintegrated into countless flying wisps at those slender fingertips, like a vast sea overwhelming the figure with dark hair.

The three young figures felt a blur before their eyes, then fell to the ground amidst the swirling wisps, rolling a full dozen times before finally regaining their balance.

They looked up in astonishment, only to see that the original van had vanished. The wisps flew into the sky like a tornado, and amidst the swirling wisps, a slender figure in white stood against the wind.

“He's not here… Was such a large vehicle just a smokescreen to mislead us?” Su Zhiwei, unable to find Chu Changqing in the car, seemed very disappointed.

She turned to look behind her, seeing the three university students had already gotten up from the ground. Three divine pathways were simultaneously activated, and they watched her with wary eyes.

Su Zhiwei's dark hair danced in the wind as she slowly widened her stance, lowering her center of gravity. Her Tai Chi Cloud Hands moved naturally like flowing clouds, and the swirling wisps all around scattered beneath her feet.

“The three of you, come at me together.”

“…Tch.” Fu Kun, who had been less affected by the red paper, watched as the lead car and the red cloud vanished ahead. A hint of stubbornness flashed in his eyes.

He gripped the stone hammer hidden under his fur coat and slammed it forcefully inside the vehicle. Lava patterns instantly covered the entire car body, and terrifying flames surged from the exhaust pipes. Under the immense propulsion, his speed soared wildly!

The vehicle's parts turned red hot under the intense heat, even faintly beginning to melt. But in this extremely short time, his speed had reached an exaggerated level, and the distance between him and the red cloud was continuously shrinking.

“What exactly is that monster?” Fu Kun muttered to himself, staring at the red cloud drawing closer ahead.

Buzz—!!!

Just then, on the other side of the highway, a subway train slowly rose from an underground tunnel to the surface, speeding along its tracks.

The subway tracks ran parallel to the straight highway. The train cars were already packed with urban white-collar workers just off work. Bright lights streamed from the subway windows, constantly moving through the neon sea of the city behind. However, these office workers seemed oblivious to the scenery outside, and paid no attention to the souped-up car on the opposite highway, simply looking down at their phones.

Fu Kun subconsciously glanced over, his peripheral vision suddenly catching something, and deep bewilderment and shock surfaced in his eyes.

He saw a figure had appeared on top of the speeding subway car at some unknown point. The corners of his black attire danced wildly in the cold wind, and a faint starlight shimmered around him. He simply stood there silently, keeping pace with Fu Kun, who was moving at full speed!

“…How did he get up there??” A bad premonition arose in Fu Kun's heart.

Lu Xun, standing atop the subway car, slowly raised his hand, reaching towards the faint starlight behind him.

With a gentle flick of his hand, stars lit up in the night sky, seven of them interweaving in succession. They formed a scorching and distant sword of starlight, suspended high above the speeding car!

A terrifying aura locked onto Fu Kun's mind.

“If you want to catch up to Director Chen… you'll have to get past me first,” Lu Xun said calmly.

As his words fell, a beam of starlight pierced through the cosmos, streaking down directly from the dark night sky. Like a meteor too fast to track, it crashed onto the highway in the blink of an eye, engulfing the speeding lava battle vehicle!
