Ying Fu's gaze swept around. He spoke calmly, "Where are the guests?"

"This is a restricted area! Go any further, and we'll open fire!" No one answered Ying Fu's question. As a figure who seemed to be the captain gave the order, more than ten people around them simultaneously pulled their triggers!

But the next moment, they stared at the smooth bananas in their hands, frozen in place.

The figure in the crimson opera robe casually raised a hand, and a giant red paper python shot out from his sleeve, grabbing a person beside him and dragging them forward. A blush slowly appeared at the corner of his eye.

Vermilion Gaze.

After scanning a fragment of the person's memory, Chen Ling spoke calmly, "They're not in the hotel; they're underground."

Ying Fu snorted coldly. A surging imperial pressure swept out from within him. Without needing any skill, this innate deterrent force alone swept through, stunning all the dazed figures around them, who fell backward like withered grass in the wind.

Chen Ling stepped forward, guided by the images he had just seen in the person's life fragments, and arrived before two silent elevator doors.

Snap— Chen Ling lightly snapped his fingers, and the elevator buttons automatically lit up. Both elevators opened their doors simultaneously.

"Which one?" Ying Fu asked.

"I don't know, they should both be the same."

As he spoke, Chen Ling walked into the elevator closest to him. "Care for a squeeze?"

Ying Fu glanced at him, then unhesitatingly entered the other elevator, seemingly loathing the idea of being in a confined space with Chen Ling. Seeing this, Chen Ling bothered no further words and snapped his fingers again, and both elevators closed simultaneously.

Buzzing— The two emperors, each in a separate elevator, descended simultaneously into the ground.

"Sun Zhongliang! We trusted Bureau 749, that's why we came to this conference, and you're tricking us?"

"...My daughter's birthday is in two days! And now you're telling me there's going to be a nuclear war outside? And you want me to just hide underground?"

"I knew it, I shouldn't have accepted the invitation to this conference! Let me tell you, Sun Zhongliang, I'm not afraid of death! But I want to face this alongside my wife and parents!"

"Sun Zhongliang, you've disappointed us greatly!"

As Sun Zhongliang finished speaking, several guests immediately rose in anger, slamming their hands on the table and yelling curses at him. Most, however, lowered their heads in silence after hearing him out.

Sun Zhongliang's words had delivered too great a shock; most were unsure whether to feel relief or despair. They stared blankly at the dim, narrow walls around them, seemingly unable to imagine living there for a long time to come.

As the orchestrator of it all, Sun Zhongliang stood quietly in the center, facing the curses and questions of the crowd. He remained utterly calm, as if he had long prepared to be the target of public scorn.

Just then, a staff member hurried to his ear: "Director, the red warning light on the surface just came on... and the elevators were activated without any authorization and are heading this way."

Sun Zhongliang's brows furrowed slightly.

He hadn't seemed to anticipate such a situation. Wushan Town had already endured two rounds of nuclear strikes; at this point, who could possibly force their way into Underground Project 7012?

"Stop it, activate Level One alert," Sun Zhongliang ordered decisively.

"Yes!"

Riiing— A piercing alarm suddenly blared. The descending elevator, as if all its power had been cut, clanged to a halt.

Red warning lights flashed wildly within the elevator car, painting Chen Ling's face blood-red in the darkness. He looked at the powerless elevator with a hint of surprise, muttering to himself, "Have we been discovered..."

The elevator was stalled, the only path to the underground controlled. The two emperors were thus trapped deep beneath the earth, surrounded only by the steel car and immense layers of soil.

In the other elevator, Ying Fu glanced at the floor beneath his feet and uttered two cold words: "...Ridiculous."

The next second. Two identical bursts of electric light erupted at the bottom of the elevators!

Reshape!

The sealed, heavy bottoms of the elevators were directly torn open with two large holes. Two figures, one red and one black, abandoned the elevators and plummeted rapidly down the dim shafts like two meteors!

Red warning lights flashed wildly in the dim shafts. The two figures traversed their respective elevator shafts, descending an unknown depth as the pitch-black bottom of the shafts rapidly expanded in their eyes!

Thud—!!! A colossal thud, like an artillery shell hitting the ground, echoed throughout the entire underground facility, startling the dozen or so figures who had already taken positions by the elevator doors.

They nervously held their guns, watching the two tightly closed elevator doors, unable to help but swallow. An inexplicable dread crept into their hearts...

One second, two seconds...

Bang—!! Both tightly closed elevator doors were blasted into fragments directly from inside the shafts.

Exploding metal shards flew through the stone corridor, and billowing dust surged out from within the shafts...

Almost simultaneously, all firearms opened fire, their spitting muzzle flashes illuminating the narrow corridor like the frantically strobing camera lights on a runway.

From all directions, with no blind spots, a dense barrage of bullets surged like a tide towards the two dark openings. But as the dust swirled, two dark figures slowly advanced amidst the flickering gun flashes.

Tentacle-like red paper extended from the dust, effortlessly deflecting all incoming bullets; the figure on the other side seemed to turn into ink, allowing the bullets to pass right through without leaving a trace...

"You're slow."

"I am not."

"You were half a second slower than me. Even if you don't admit it, a fact is still a fact."

"Chen Ling, do you truly think I wouldn't dare kill you?"

The two seemed to pay no mind to the dense hail of bullets, merely speaking coldly, their killing intent almost visibly permeating the air... Of course, the target of their killing intent was not the group of people before them.

Ying Fu seemed to be in a very bad mood. With a sweep of his arm before him, purple lightning lashed out like a whip, directly knocking all the obstructing figures in the stone corridor to the ground.

The two walked forward separately along opposite sides of the stone corridor, as if a deadly abyss separated them.

"Is Bureau 749's security really this weak?" Chen Ling remarked with some doubt, looking at the mess on the ground. "It was almost too easy getting in here..."

"In this era, your power and mine are already at their peak. You overestimate them."

"Oh?"

Chen Ling seemed to sense something and suddenly stopped. "No... it's you who underestimates them."

Chen Ling slowly extended his palm forward. In the air, an ethereal wall, like the flowing River Styx, directly blocked his hand, preventing him from passing through no matter how much force he exerted.

Ying Fu also carefully observed the barrier before him, a faint gleam flashing in his eyes.

"Something from the Ghost Path Ancient Repository... Interesting."
