Chapter 276: Disappearing Aurora Jun

"What did you say?!"

The moment he heard this, Dr. Yi sobered up completely, drenched in a cold sweat that sent a chill through him. He sharply turned his head towards the speaker.

Han Meng's heart also trembled violently, and he quickly rushed towards the glass observation room!

They arrived at the observation room and looked down. Laboratory 0, now re-illuminated, showed no other changes. Equipment was operating as usual, and reagents were being injected normally. But the central metal stasis pod was utterly empty...

"Where is Aurora-kun... where is Aurora-kun??" Dr. Yi's eyes widened as he spoke in disbelief. "How is this possible?? I just confirmed it..."

"According to your regulations, someone must be on duty in the observation room at all times," a white-coated staff member replied blankly. "When the experimental subject went berserk just now, I ducked away for a moment... It was less than a minute, I think, and when I came back, he was gone!"

"...Damn it!!"

Dr. Yi clutched his head with both hands, squatted down, his eyes filled with anguish.

"Dr. Yi?" Han Meng called out to him.

"There's no trace of the stasis pod being opened... all the equipment is intact, so he couldn't have been taken away..." Dr. Yi frantically ran his hands through his hair. "Aurora-kun... has woken up. The power outage masked his vital sign changes... I should have realized!! He's awake!!"

"He heard everything that just happened here, everything we said!!"

"He knows that we achieved nothing during his three hundred years of slumber, and he also knows his lifespan is nearing its end... He's disappointed in us, so he left... He abandoned the Aurora Base."

Dr. Yi gave a wretched laugh, his face utterly pale.

"Aurora-kun has woken up..."

"The Aurora Realm is finished."

***

Outside the Aurora Base.

A blood-red shadow streaked across the sky!

Jian Changsheng gritted his teeth, frantically using his blood to displace himself, attempting to put distance between himself and the enforcers behind him. But it was completely ineffective; in fact, the gap between them was shrinking... Those enforcers, casually at fifth or sixth tier, were no pushovers.

"Why are they only chasing me?!"

"Damn it! Red Heart Six couldn't have done this on purpose, could he??"

"Throw me out as bait, then secretly escape himself? That bastard..."

Jian Changsheng finally understood. The more he thought about it, the more wrong it seemed, but it was too late. As an ethereal wolf's eye opened in the sky, a mysterious force instantly locked onto his figure, and his movements visibly slowed down!

At that moment, Jian Changsheng felt as if layers of shackles had been placed upon him from afar. Every joint in his body felt incredibly heavy, and he plummeted straight down from mid-leap, crashing heavily onto the ground.

CRASH—

Jian Changsheng groaned, his consciousness blurring.

"Why is it precisely the 'Sirius' path, which focuses on 'hunting'... Can it turn me into 'prey' from such a distance?

Is this the strength of Qiong Xuan, the Seven-Pattern Enforcer?"

Jian Changsheng struggled to get up from the ground, like a wounded prey, leaving a trail of blood as he painfully moved forward... He hadn't even come face to face with anyone; merely being locked on by a gaze from the void, he had fallen into a 'bleeding to death' state.

Being targeted by a Tier 7 Sirius, Jian Changsheng, no matter how fast he ran, absolutely couldn't escape. It was no different from being marked by the King of Hell.

"Red Heart Six... I hate you!!" Jian Changsheng couldn't help but curse.

Howl—!!

As his words fell, a sharp wolf howl erupted from the Aurora Base behind him. A shadow, moving fast enough to break the sound barrier, streaked across the sky in an instant, and the sweeping gale uprooted the surrounding trees!

Just as despair flickered in Jian Changsheng's eyes, a languid figure appeared not far away.

"Oh... so you're the rookie?"

Jian Changsheng was startled. Before he could react, his figure instantly vanished from where he stood!

One second later, a black afterimage, carrying a terrifying storm, appeared on the street. Qiong Xuan, cloaked in a Seven-Pattern Enforcer's windbreaker, slowly materialized, his gaze sweeping across the surroundings.

The desolate street was empty and devoid of people; Jian Changsheng's shadow was nowhere to be found.

"How could this be?" Qiong Xuan's brow furrowed unconsciously. "He was clearly locked on just now... How did he escape?"

Qiong Xuan didn't give up. After all, this was an enemy who had infiltrated the Aurora Base; he couldn't just let him go. He quickly searched the surroundings. However, even after turning the entire block upside down, he couldn't find any trace of Jian Changsheng. It was as if he had vanished into thin air.

The other enforcers also caught up. Seeing that even Qiong Xuan hadn't been able to catch the opponent, shock appeared in their eyes.

"Captain... what do we do now?"

Qiong Xuan was grinding his teeth. Despite his immense anger and unwillingness, he had nowhere to vent it. After holding it in for a long time, he could only utter one sentence:

"Return to base!"

Everyone exchanged glances, then could only turn and follow Qiong Xuan.

As they gradually approached the Aurora Base, a reporter in a brown coat was standing at the base entrance, seemingly taking photos of something.

Upon seeing this, Qiong Xuan, already furious, became even more annoyed. He waved his hand and said to the enforcer beside him:

"Get rid of that reporter... Is the Aurora Base somewhere he can just photograph??"

The enforcer immediately stepped forward and sternly stopped the reporter who was filming. The young man, wearing half-rimmed glasses, scratched his head and said sheepishly:

"Excuse me... I was just passing by and heard the sound of an explosion from inside the base, so I came to see if there was any news..."

"Is the Aurora Base somewhere you can just photograph?? Which news agency are you with?"

"Aurora Daily, Lin Yan."

"Leave at once. Reporters aren't welcome here, or don't blame me for being impolite." The enforcer annoyedly shooed Chen Ling away. A few seconds later, he suddenly seemed to realize something and whirled around. "What did you say? An explosion?"

"Yeah... it came from down there. Didn't you hear it?" Chen Ling spread his hands innocently.

Qiong Xuan and the others' expressions instantly changed drastically. "Damn it! Get back to the base now!"

Several black-clad figures rushed towards the base. Chen Ling stood still, watching the scene with a smile, then unhurriedly raised the camera in his hand and pressed the shutter.

Click—

"The Aurora Base is nothing special." Chen Ling casually put his hands back into his pockets, ready to turn and leave.

However, just as he turned around, he saw a white-clad, white-haired figure standing quietly behind him.

It was a tall, slender man, dressed in a white lab coat. His white hair cascaded down his back, and as his eyes, shifting like the aurora, narrowed slightly, a breeze rustled his coat...

Chen Ling's body suddenly stiffened!
