Chapter 573: You Know Nothing About the Six of Hearts

“A misunderstanding?” Wang Jincheng narrowed his eyes. “You are the chief bodyguard hired by the Big Dipper Consortium, aren’t you? I advise you not to sacrifice your life for a meager salary… No matter who it is, as long as they try to protect a member of the Twilight Society, the Floating Life Painting will pursue them to the end.”

“That’s why I said there must be a misunderstanding,” Zhong Qi said in a deep voice. “I watched Li Ruohong grow up. With his timid nature, how could he possibly be a member of the Twilight Society?”

Wang Jincheng recalled the scene under the canopy earlier, where “Li Ruohong” smiled while having him cornered. His brow furrowed deeper and deeper: “You know nothing about Heart 6.”

Wang Jincheng had no time to argue further with Zhong Qi. He knew exactly what he had seen, and if he were delayed any longer, Heart 6 would likely escape…

Wang Jincheng’s hands, which had been hanging naturally, slowly clenched into fists. The ground beneath him trembled slightly, and dense, menacing cracks spread across the surface like a spiderweb. Terrifying colossal boulders floated silently into the air from fissures in the earth, suspending themselves mid-air.

These boulders, resembling small mountains hovering over the city, were each large enough to shatter an entire block if they fell. Now, they hung menacingly beneath the rain clouds, their terrifying oppressive presence stifling.

“God of Might Path, Pioneer’s Route!” A look of solemnity appeared in Zhong Qi’s eyes upon seeing this. “I can’t believe that in a picturesque place like the Mortal Realm, the head of city policing follows such a savage path… Aren’t you afraid of destroying this block and accidentally harming civilians?”

“Before the Floating Life Painting took action, I had already sent people to evacuate the nearby residents. As for these buildings… if they’re destroyed, they’re destroyed.”

Wang Jincheng seemed determined to wipe out the entire Twilight Society. His Tier 6 psychic energy surged forth, combined with the Pioneer’s unique savage fighting style. Even Zhong Qi, also a Tier 6 combatant, involuntarily took half a step back under the looming presence of so many mountain-like boulders.

“Damn it…” Zhong Qi gritted his teeth, tightening his grip on the hilt of his ice sword. Facing the overwhelming onslaught of flying boulders, he could only brace himself and swing his sword.

With a single swing of Zhong Qi’s sword, a cold wave instantly covered the cracked earth with ice and snow. Countless thick icicles shot up from the ground, blocking the small, mountain-like boulders falling from the sky!

Boom—!!

Ice and snow fragments along with shattered rocks rained down from the sky, transforming the street below into ruins. The two figures clashed at extreme speed in mid-air, their visible shockwaves sweeping across the sky.

Unlike the previous situation where several Hall Masters easily overpowered Fei Jia and the other person, although both Wang Jincheng and Zhong Qi were Tier 6, their confrontation unleashed full-scale destructive power. An entire block was annihilated under the friction of their domains. Numerous buildings were either pulverized by falling rock fragments or frozen solid by extreme ice and then shattered.

A few minutes later, Zhong Qi, covered in blood, crashed to the ground from the shattered ice and snow, kicking up a large cloud of dust. Wang Jincheng’s condition was relatively better, though one side of his body was frozen by the ice, making his movements slightly stiff.

“How foolish…” Wang Jincheng coldly watched the disheveled Zhong Qi. As he spoke, a wisp of hot air escaped from his frost-covered lips. “If Heart 6 escapes because of you, neither you nor your employer, Mu Chunsheng, will escape accountability!”

Wang Jincheng was truly enraged. He hadn’t expected this chief bodyguard from the Big Dipper Consortium to actually entangle him for so long. Given Heart 6’s disguise and escape abilities, he might have already blended back into the crowd!

“Cough, cough, cough…” From the ruins, Zhong Qi struggled to his feet. “Director Wang, I told you there must be a misunderstanding…”

“A misunderstanding? A misunderstanding my a—”

Before Wang Jincheng could finish his last word, a sudden sense of danger erupted from behind him. His hair stood on end instantly, and he dodged sideways without hesitation!

Thwip—!

An invisible bullet grazed his cheek and struck a hard stone not far away. The stone instantly had a large hole gouged into it, as if its internal substance had been completely deconstructed and dissipated! Had Wang Jincheng been any slower, his entire head would likely have vanished instantly!

This sudden turn of events startled both Wang Jincheng and Zhong Qi. They simultaneously looked in the direction the bullet had come from, only to see a familiar figure standing amidst the hazy dust, one hand gripping a gun, with smoke gently rising from the muzzle…

The moment he saw that face, Zhong Qi’s mind reeled!

“It’s you?!”

“It’s you!!” Wang Jincheng paused for a moment, then an expression of wild joy appeared in his eyes!

“Li Ruohong” stood there, a look of disappointment on his face as he watched his sure-kill strike miss, having failed to ambush and kill Wang Jincheng.

“Tsk… What a waste. He couldn’t even push him to his limit… It made me miss.”

“Li Ruohong” directed this remark at Zhong Qi, who now stood dumbfounded in a pool of blood, his gaze fixed on “Li Ruohong” filled with disbelief!

At this moment, “Li Ruohong” showed no trace of his previous timidity or weakness. His deep, fathomless eyes were filled with contempt, seemingly deeply displeased that Zhong Qi hadn’t managed to severely wound Wang Jincheng, thereby preventing him from profiting from their struggle.

“You… you…” Zhong Qi stood stunned for a moment. As if realizing something, his breathing grew heavier.

“Li Ruohong” no longer bothered to maintain the pretense. He reached up and forcefully tore at his chin, and a facial mask drifted through the air. The moment Chen Ling’s true face was revealed, Zhong Qi’s last glimmer of hope died.

His young master, whom he had just saved, and for whom he had fought Wang Jincheng with all his might to buy time for his escape—Li Ruohong—was actually Heart 6 in disguise?!!

“I told you all along! He is Heart 6! You idiot!” Wang Jincheng exclaimed, both furious and delighted, upon seeing this scene. “All of you were completely fooled by him!!”

Wang Jincheng’s anger stemmed from Zhong Qi’s utterly outrageous stupidity for actually believing that person was Li Ruohong. His delight came from the fact that Heart 6 had not chosen to escape, but had boldly hidden nearby, intending to profit from their mutual destruction after he and Zhong Qi had exhausted each other!

Although he had indeed nearly fallen into the trap earlier, at least Heart 6 hadn’t escaped far. He could still kill him with his own hands!

Chen Ling’s “long-planned” strike missed, and he “regrettably” sighed before sprinting without hesitation in a certain direction, still wearing Li Ruohong’s clothes!

“Heart 6!! Where do you think you’re going?!!”

Wang Jincheng roared and was about to pursue Chen Ling. However, with half his body still frozen, his movements were undeniably sluggish. Gritting his teeth, he decided to directly rip a colossal boulder from the ground, half-crouching on it, allowing the boulder to carry his form skyward!

Zhong Qi stood dumbfounded, naturally making no move to stop Wang Jincheng. He hadn’t yet recovered from the shock Chen Ling had delivered. Those contemptuous eyes lingered in his mind like a nightmare…

Smack—

The more Zhong Qi thought about it, the angrier he became. His entire face turned crimson, and he slapped himself across the face.

“Damn it! I’m such an idiot!”
