Chapter 586: Jangtian Sect

Ink-dark clouds obscured the bright moon. Above the dim ruins, two figures stumbled to a halt in front of the manor gates.

"Chairman, are you alright?" Chong Qi, covered in dried blood, asked hoarsely as he supported Mu Chunsheng.

In the darkness, a pair of eyes slowly opened.

At this moment, Mu Chunsheng had completely shed his previous aged and decaying appearance. He looked ten years younger, his formerly mottled and unsightly skin now as smooth as a baby's. Though his legs remained stiff and thin, they were sufficient to support him in walking freely.

"Excellent... I've never felt this good." Mu Chunsheng took a deep breath, a sharp glint in his eyes that reflected the ruins.

"This method of longevity from the Boundless Realm truly is miraculous."

"Chairman... it seems Young Master Ruohong was impersonated by someone from the Twilight Society."

"Oh? Is he dead?"

"Yes, he's dead."

"Then it doesn't matter."

"Your private residence was bombed, and several important business contracts were burned. The Whaleshark Conglomerate and a few other financial groups are stirring, already attempting to erode our assets."

"Heh, if they want them, let's see if they have the capability."

Mu Chunsheng gazed at the manor, nearly half of which had been leveled by the explosion, yet he felt no anger. Instead, he was filled with immense joy. Compared to regaining youth and health, this sacrifice was insignificant. Even the worldly wealth and power he once cherished as life itself gradually faded from his perception.

At this moment, only one goal could drive him to madness—

Immortality.

Chong Qi supported Mu Chunsheng as they slowly entered the manor. Although the area around the private residence was unrecognizable due to the explosion, the garden and other buildings designated for the birthday banquet remained intact. Under the butler's direction, many staff members were currently attempting to rebuild the private quarters, though it was clear they wouldn't be habitable anytime soon.

Mu Chunsheng was helped into a guest reception room. No sooner had he sat on the bed than Chong Qi's expression drastically changed, as if sensing something!

He abruptly looked up towards the dark window!

"Who's there?!"

After a brief pause, three dark figures, like specters, phased through the wall, emerging silently from the ink-dark night. As they appeared, the previously bright lights gradually dimmed, eventually seeming to be veiled in black gauze, blurring everything in sight.

The three figures appeared from three different directions, surrounding Mu Chunsheng and Chong Qi in the room. A bone-chilling oppressive sensation swept over them.

Chong Qi's face grew exceedingly grim. He vigilantly scanned the three figures, his mental energy stirring within him, and ice crystals began to condense from the moisture around his body...

"You must be Chairman Mu, I presume?" one of the cloaked figures stated in a deep voice. "A few days ago, did two people come to see you?"

Hearing this, Mu Chunsheng paused, then a flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes as if he had realized something.

He raised a hand, signaling Chong Qi not to act rashly, and then took two steps forward.

"You three are friends from the Boundless Realm, aren't you?"

"Oh?" another cloaked figure raised an eyebrow slightly. "It seems Chairman Mu has already met them."

"Figa and Six-Claws are old friends of mine," Mu Chunsheng said, walking to a table. He casually opened an expensive bottle of red wine and poured it into several stemmed glasses.

He raised a glass of red wine, lifting it towards the three figures in the dim light. In the reflection of the dark red liquid, his smile was brilliant.

"My allies, our Big Dipper Conglomerate... has been awaiting your arrival for a long time."

Hearing this, a flicker of surprise also crossed the eyes of the three cloaked figures. Mu Chunsheng knowing the names of the two individuals indicated that contact had indeed been made, and judging by Mu Chunsheng's current state, initial cooperation had been established.

This made things much simpler.

"Chairman Mu, what exactly happened in Crimson Dust Main City? How were Figa and the other person killed?"

"That's a long story..."

Mu Chunsheng pondered for a moment. "Have you three heard of Twilight Society's Red Heart 6?"

Mu Chunsheng and Chong Qi truthfully recounted the events. The three figures' eyes narrowed, revealing expressions that confirmed their suspicions.

"Red Heart 6, it truly was him!"

"But isn't the Twilight Society's goal to destroy humanity's nine realms? Exterminating the Crimson Dust Realm should also be their objective. In a sense, we should be allies."

"Is there a possibility they want to destroy the Crimson Dust Realm and also wipe out our Boundless Realm along the way? He deliberately escalated the conflict between us and the Crimson Dust Realm, then waits for us to be mutually crippled, so he can reap the benefits?"

"I see, this indeed aligns with the Twilight Society's arrogant and deranged modus operandi."

"Hmph, the Twilight Society wants to annihilate two realms in one go? Aren't they afraid their appetite is too big, and they'll break their own teeth?"

The three cloaked figures conversed in low tones. In truth, the Twilight Society had initially been on their list of potential allies to court, but after the incident involving Red Heart 6, they knew such an alliance was now virtually impossible.

"Gentlemen, it's not that I lack confidence in the Boundless Realm, but the current situation within Crimson Dust Main City is indeed not optimistic," Mu Chunsheng slowly began. "The Ephemeral Painting in the Crimson Dust Realm is akin to a deity. For you to cross realms and destroy it would be incredibly difficult, not to mention the Twilight Society lurking in the shadows... This time, have only three people come from the Boundless Realm?"

"To deal with the Crimson Dust Realm, it's naturally impossible for only the three of us to be here. Several Arch-Shamans from the Shamanism Association will intervene on the battlefield when the time is right... Furthermore, we are not without other allies."

The leading cloaked figure offered a faint smile. The next moment, the room's lights flickered erratically, and even the light itself took on an eerie red hue.

Mu Chunsheng stared blankly out the window. Amidst the tumultuous, wind-swept darkness, a large group of figures in red robes had appeared like phantoms, standing atop the ruins. They resembled a ghastly, scarlet rash erupting from the earth, a truly shocking sight.

"Is that...?"

"In this world, the Twilight Society isn't the only entity considered a public enemy by the nine realms," the cloaked figure stated unhurriedly.

"Chairman Mu... have you ever heard of the Crimson Heaven Sect?"

Jinghong Tower.

A figure carrying a medical kit slowly walked out of the room.

"Doctor, how is he?" Chen Ling asked.

"...It's very strange," the doctor said, shaking his head bitterly. "I've practiced medicine for so many years, and I've never seen a case like this... All of the patient's external injuries have clearly healed, and his physical condition is excellent, yet there are no signs of him waking up."

"No concussion or anything?"

"No."

"He won't become a vegetable, will he??"

"That... is hard to say. But based on my many years of medical experience, his condition may not be caused by a physiological illness. Perhaps... it's related to something else." The doctor deliberated for a long time before speaking. "Has this patient recently come into contact with anyone special? Or sustained any unusual injuries?"

Chen Ling and Jian Changsheng exchanged a glance, their brows unconsciously furrowing.

"Are you implying...?"

"In short, his condition is beyond what an ordinary doctor can treat. I'm afraid I can't help you two."

After speaking, the doctor bowed apologetically to them and then carried his medical kit down the stairs...

Once he was out of earshot, Chen Ling's frown deepened.

"This is troublesome now... Could he have been ambushed by someone from the Shaman God Path while in the Boundless Realm?"

"Very possible. I thought it was strange before; although Senior Bai Ye was severely injured, it shouldn't have caused him to be in a coma for several months..." Jian Changsheng frustratingly pulled at his hair. "Red Heart, what do we do now??"

"Since these doctors can't cure him, there's only one way..."

"Are you thinking of...?"

Chen Ling patted Jian Changsheng's shoulder.

"Write your best plea for help... and ask for Divine Doctor Chu."
