Chapter 607: Power Over Jiangtian

Chen Ling was furious.

Ever since he embarked on the Divine Path, Chen Ling had always been the one to outwit others. But this time, he was outwitted himself—and even struck in the face with a hammer, nearly dying on the spot.

Although he could revive by deducting 50 expectation points even if he were hammered to death, Chen Ling absolutely refused to waste a resurrection chance on these two. He would rather stage a spectacular suicide performance in front of everyone than inexplicably die in such a place.

In the darkness, the large gaping wound on Chen Ling's head was horrifying. However, due to the effects of his Blood Robe, his injuries were not life-threatening. Instead, a surge of power coursed through his body.

Rage welled up within Chen Ling, making him feel like an erupting volcano, veins bulging visibly on his arms and neck.

He held a blood-stained small hammer in one hand and a boning knife in the other, gripped in reverse. Perhaps due to his head injury, his body swayed as he slowly advanced through the pool of blood. Yet, even so, the Jiangtian Cultist was frightened enough to take a half-step back.

"You... you!!"

In the dim ruins, the blood-soaked vermilion opera robe, twisted headpiece, and shattered skull presented a terrifying sight. The person who should have been dead was now swaying toward him step by step. The visual impact of this scene was dozens of times more horrifying than any horror film.

The Jiangtian Cultist gritted his teeth, his hairy arm gripping the nearby shelf. With a surge of power, he directly tore it from the ground and, using its momentum, hurled it toward Chen Ling's face!

Clang—!!

The shelf flew into the air, only to be caught mid-flight by a blood-red hand.

Under Chen Ling's chilling gaze, the metal shelf was forcibly twisted into a helix. He then backhanded his small hammer, smashing the entire shelf into two halves from the middle. With a lunge, he flung one half of the shelf at the Jiangtian Cultist's face at an even greater speed!

The Jiangtian Cultist reacted instantly, raising both hands to block the attack, but the force behind the shelf was so immense that it sent him crashing against the wall behind him!

A sharp pain shot through his back, but he had no time to react. The next moment, the red-robed actor hurled a small hammer with all his might. It sliced through the air like a cannonball, appearing before him in the blink of an eye!

The Jiangtian Cultist's pupils abruptly constricted!

Boom—!!!

The small hammer smashed through three consecutive walls, creating huge openings that connected the pharmacy to the two adjacent shops. Clouds of dust billowed upwards, revealing three exaggerated, gaping holes.

Seeing this, the Jiangtian Cultist, who had ducked to the ground to avoid the attack, immediately cried out:

"Help me!!"

Before he could finish, the second Jiangtian Cultist, who had been entangled with Li Qingshan, burst through the thick smoke and slashed at Chen Ling. Just as the blade descended, the cold gleam of a boning knife arced from the opera robe's sleeve, precisely clashing with it!

Clink! Clink! Clink!!

The two red-robed figures fought fiercely in the dim light, blinding sparks flying through the air, occasionally illuminating a corner of the shadowy pharmacy.

However, after only six or seven exchanges, the knife-wielding Jiangtian Cultist could no longer parry. His chest was cut open by a blade, and as time passed, more and more bloodstains appeared on his body. Regardless of speed and strength, his knife skills were far inferior to Chen Ling's, who had undergone several months of rigorous training with Ning Ruyu.

A second figure darted out amidst the chaos, moving like an ape on all fours, skimming across the ground at extreme speed. Its fingertips seized Chen Ling's ankle in the confusion.

"Brother Lin! Be careful, they can interfere with the Divine Path!"

Li Qingshan's voice immediately followed.

The moment their skin touched, the surging power of the Blood Robe within Chen Ling suddenly faltered, vanishing like air from a deflated balloon. His brows unconsciously furrowed.

Sensing Chen Ling's drastically reduced speed and strength, the Jiangtian Cultist, who had been retreating, immediately stabilized himself. He and the other Jiangtian Cultist then began a pincer attack on Chen Ling.

"Heh heh, without the Divine Path, your strength is nothing special," a mocking voice whispered in his ear.

Chen Ling sensed the Divine Path within him and thought,

"...Is that so?"

Hearing Chen Ling's calm words, the knife-wielding Jiangtian Cultist was stunned.

The next moment, the short knife he wielded suddenly wavered, transforming before his eyes into half of a broken broom, which was then instantly shattered by the glinting boning knife!

The Jiangtian Cultist: ???

Before he could recover, the boning knife effortlessly plunged into his body—white blade in, red blade out!

Chen Ling's chilling eyes fixed on him. Without hesitation, he continued to stab him three more times before the other Jiangtian Cultist had a chance to help his companion, engaging Chen Ling in hand-to-hand combat.

Unable to pull the boning knife from the stabbed Jiangtian Cultist's body, Chen Ling spun and kicked him several meters away, then retreated to put distance between himself and the remaining Jiangtian Cultist.

Li Qingshan, who had witnessed the scene firsthand, had eyes filled with shock.

Even if he hadn't fully understood the horror of the Jiangtian Cult before, after this personal encounter, he now knew how formidable these individuals were. Their ability to suppress Divine Path skills was incredibly potent; it was difficult to gain an advantage even in a one-on-one fight. Yet, Chen Ling was somehow fighting two of them at once and still managing to overpower the Jiangtian Cultists!

Both sides wore red robes, but their ferocity seemed to be on entirely different levels.

The Jiangtian Cultist, who had been stabbed three times by Chen Ling, struggled to get up from between the shelves. The boning knife remained eerily embedded in his chest, and a trickle of blood continuously seeped from the corner of his mouth.

He stared blankly at Chen Ling, who was clad in a large crimson opera robe with a massive hole torn in his head, his gaze like that of someone looking at a monster.

"Ugh..."

His face paled, and he suddenly lowered his head, spitting out large mouthfuls of black blood.

Chen Ling's three stabs had all struck vital points. Even though his body had returned to its primal state, with strength and vitality far exceeding ordinary humans, he would find it difficult to stand up and fight now.

The Jiangtian Cultist did not immediately pull out the boning knife embedded in his chest. Instead, he gritted his teeth, his gaze sweeping around before finally landing on the blood-red ring not far away...

He crawled on the ground, painstakingly moving towards the ring.

Meanwhile,

The Jiangtian Cultist currently confronting Chen Ling spoke in disbelief,

"How is this possible?! We've already disrupted your Divine Path... How can you still use your skills??"

Chen Ling brushed dust from his sleeve and said calmly, "It seems your so-called Supreme Jiangtian Savior... isn't all that divine after all."

The moment the Jiangtian Cultist touched him, a large portion of Chen Ling's skills indeed became unusable, including Blood Robe, Tribunal, Heart Python, and more. These Divine Path skills, learned from others, seemed to have been forcibly disrupted. However, there were four exceptions.

Iron Fist of Justice, Formless, Scarlet Trick, and Weave Fate.
