Chapter 653: General Against General

“Boundless Domain!”

Lu Liangren’s roar echoed like thunder. Before he even arrived, a massive ink dragon surged from below, shattering the fiery rain and black clouds, and with its gaping maw, it instantly swallowed Brand’s form!

After swallowing Brand, the ink dragon spun rapidly in the air. Crackling ink lightning coursed across its surface, then gathered within its body, before erupting skyward in a straight bolt of thunderous dragon's breath!

Boom—!!

The black dragon's breath, like a divine sword, pierced the heavens. Amidst the intensely condensed, ink-like lightning, a shattered figure was ejected along with it, plummeting towards the ground amidst thick plumes of smoke.

Lu Liangren did not stop; instead, he stepped on the ink lightning, his eight-foot ink brush, like a halberd, whistled as it followed close behind, crashing into the earth!

Two enormous clouds of dust rose in quick succession. A strong gust of wind swept through the dust, instantly dispersing the blinding grit around him. In the center of the empty circular area, a figure in white robes stood holding the eight-foot ink brush, cold killing intent emanating from the corners of his eyes.

Before him, a grotesque, circular impact crater had been formed, with countless cracks spreading out like a spiderweb. However, there was no sign of anyone in the center of the massive crater, only a fragment of black robe impaled by the tip of the ink brush.

Lu Liangren slowly raised his eyes and looked ahead.

Amidst the swirling dust, a broken figure slowly materialized. His left shoulder had been blasted into a bloody void by the ink dragon, and one leg was reduced to stark white bone, a truly gruesome sight.

Brand looked down at his injuries and spoke helplessly:“Does the Fleeting Life Painting faction always favor sneak attacks?”

Though the fiery rain and black clouds had been dispersed by Lu Liangren, the sea of flames in Shuangqiao Town continued to rage. Lu Liangren looked at the unconcerned Brand, and the hellish town behind him, veins bulged on his hands.

“You… are Brand??”

“Oh? You know me?”

“The Boundless Domain only has two Level Eight practitioners in total: one is the former President of the Sorcery Association, Shang Shaoquan; the other is the Vice President and head of the Alchemy Path, Brand…” Lu Liangren narrowed his eyes. “Not long ago, Shang Shaoquan was assassinated with a backstab, so the only remaining Level Eight in the Boundless Domain must be you.”

“Hahaha, that’s right, I am Brand,” Brand replied with a smile. “I’ve also heard of you. You are the Third Temple of the Fleeting Life Painting, Lu Liangren. It’s widely rumored that you are the Red Dust’s fiercest general.”

“That title is too much for me to bear. But killing you is enough.”

“Even if you really could kill me, it wouldn’t change anything,” Brand said carelessly, “We still have the Boundless Monarch.”

Hearing the words “Boundless Monarch,” Lu Liangren’s heart skipped a beat. He knew, of course, that the Boundless Monarch had awakened and was likely to personally intervene in this domain war, but he still spoke in a deep voice:

“We also have a Second Temple, whose strength is no less than mine.”

“We have the Boundless Monarch.”

“We also have the Chief Temple, who is the current leader of the Azure God Dao!”

“We have the Boundless Monarch.”

Lu Liangren roared, “We also have the Red Dust Monarch!”

“Then ask your Red Dust Monarch when she’s going to wake up. And how long she’ll live after she does?”

Lu Liangren’s chest heaved violently. He tried to suppress his surging fury, channeling it into killing intent, and said coldly, “You ignited this domain war, massacring people and cities. This will surely provoke public outrage among humanity… Even the Boundless Monarch cannot escape retribution.”

“Retribution?” Brand scoffed. “Once we’ve massacred all of Red Dust and refined all the Philosopher’s Stones, who can exact retribution upon an immortal Nine Monarch?”

“Massacre all of Red Dust, with just you??”

“Of course, not just me.”

Brand raised a hand and pointed to the thick smoke rising on the distant horizon. “Soldier for soldier, general for general – you and I both know perfectly well that our only purpose here is to keep each other occupied… You, Lu Liangren, are indeed formidable, but are all the other members of Fleeting Life Painting as strong as you?”

“Nansha Town is under attack!”“Yunshui Town is under attack!!”“I’m on my way to Chuzhou Town, but black smoke is rising from that direction; it’s probably already fallen…”“Damn it, these guys split up and are attacking from multiple directions simultaneously?”“They’re exploiting the time difference, carrying out town massacres in the gaps of our troop deployment! They’re not even sparing children!”“These beasts…”

A series of voices crackled from the comms device. Wang Jincheng, riding a massive flying boulder, swept through the air. His thick black hair billowed in the wind, but his brows furrowed deeper and deeper.

This move by the Boundless Domain caught everyone by surprise. When others wage war, they arrange their troops and formations, concentrating their forces as much as possible to capture cities and strongholds, aiming straight for the heart of the enemy… But the Boundless Domain not only refrained from doing so, they instead dispersed all their personnel, simultaneously attacking numerous towns and carrying out large-scale massacres.

Although the Fleeting Life Painting faction had made preparations, their manpower was limited, making it impossible to station forces in every single town. Even though they rushed to intercept the Boundless Domain once it made its move, this brief interval of just over ten minutes had already turned over a dozen towns into wastelands. These guys weren’t aiming to capture cities and strongholds at all… Their only goal was massacre!

Wherever the Boundless Domain passed, hardly anyone was left alive. It was even difficult to find an intact corpse, showcasing the Divine Sorcery Path’s mass destruction capabilities to their fullest in battle.

“Eighth unit, proceed immediately to Meilong Town. Fourth unit, continue forward. Architects 011, 013, 018, now move northeast; a contingent of Sorcery Association personnel is about to arrive at Lian Town…”“Wang Jincheng, proceed immediately to Xue Town.”

The voice of the Second Temple came through the comms device, calmly directing everyone’s movements.

The Red Dust Domain was simply too vast, with towns scattered like stars. Without the Second Temple using their authority to oversee the overall situation, the chaos would only intensify… But under the Second Temple’s “full map vision,” all Red Dust Domain forces were systematically dispatched to various battlefields, hoping to intercept the Boundless Domain’s members before the second wave of massacres began.

Wang Jincheng’s gaze swept over the land, seeing the nearby town already engulfed in flames. The fiercely burning flames were reflected in his pupils, his expression incredibly grim.

Then, as if sensing something, his gaze shifted to a long embankment at the edge of the inferno.

On the embankment, a black-robed figure was unhurriedly walking towards the next town. He seemed to have noticed Wang Jincheng’s gaze as well, looking up to pinpoint the boulder in the sky.

Wang Jincheng leaped down from the boulder, like a meteor streaking across the sky, and heavily struck the embankment, creating a gaping hole!

Dust billowed around Wang Jincheng as he slowly straightened up on the embankment. The next moment, the oppressive aura of a Level Seven practitioner washed over him from the black-robed figure!

“…It seems my luck isn’t good.”
