Chapter 472

“Oh my, what a coincidence, I never expected to run into you here!”

Qin Yan looked at the woman in front of her, her expression momentarily stiff.

The woman wore a well-tailored Chanel suit. Her dark, slightly curled long hair was coiled at the back of her head, revealing a smooth, full forehead. Her features were delicate and beautiful, but her eyes held an unconcealed arrogance and a condescending disdain for everyone.

She was an extremely proud and conceited woman.

Qin Yan’s gaze lingered on the woman’s face for only half a second before she averted her eyes and walked straight towards the nearby exit.

She felt no fondness for the woman before her.

Not only did she feel no fondness, but she could even say she felt revulsion towards her.

In the years she had been in Mo City, she and this woman had been like fire and water almost every time they met.

“Qin Yan, stop!”

The clear voice carried a commanding tone. Qin Yan’s steps faltered for a moment but did not stop.

The woman quickly stepped forward, blocking Qin Yan’s path. A polite smile graced her face, but her eyes held no warmth, only a chilling coldness.

“Miss Qin, I was just saying hello. How can you be so impolite?”

Qin Yan raised her eyes. Her clear, black-and-white pupils showed no emotion as she looked indifferently at the woman blocking her way.

“If you’re visiting Mo City, you’re welcome. But if you’re here to cause trouble, I advise you to go back where you came from.”

The woman’s expression froze for a moment, the coldness in her eyes instantly replaced by fury. But soon, she suppressed the anger.

A proper smile returned to her face, but deep in her eyes, a hidden gloom persisted.

“Miss Qin, your words are truly hurtful. I merely happened to encounter you here and overheard you and your friend discussing Mrs. Mo’s critical illness, so I wanted to come over and offer my regards.”

“After all, Mrs. Mo is your elder, no matter how you look at it. Shouldn’t you be very sad that she’s critically ill?”

She blinked, a hint of casual doubt in her tone.

Qin Yan looked at the woman in front of her and suddenly smiled. But in eyes that should have held warmth, there was only cold mockery.

“You’re absolutely right. Mrs. Mo is critically ill, and as a junior, I should indeed be very sad.”

“However, I wonder if your concern for her is genuine, or if you’re hoping to get something you want from her?”

The woman’s face abruptly fell.

“Qin Yan, what do you mean by that?!”

“It means nothing, just a reminder that although she is gravely ill, she’s not dead yet. It would be best for some people to rein in their dirty thoughts.”

Qin Yan looked at the woman whose face had darkened, curling her lips. The mockery in her eyes deepened.

Her words were both a reminder and a warning.

Warning the woman in front of her not to harbor any vile intentions towards Mrs. Mo.

“You…!”

The woman’s face turned extremely ugly. She glared fiercely at Qin Yan; if looks could kill, Qin Yan would have been torn to shreds by now.

“I came to visit Mrs. Mo, to express my concern and wish her a safe recovery. What kind of person do you take me for?!”

Qin Yan scoffed, her gaze contemptuous: “I know exactly what kind of person you are.”

The woman’s chest rose and fell rapidly, clearly enraged by Qin Yan’s words.

She gritted her teeth and said, “Qin Yan, don’t be so arrogant! Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you have Mo Siyuan’s protection!”

“I’m telling you, if you offend me, I’ll make you regret it!”

Qin Yan’s eyes narrowed slightly, and she suddenly smiled, her smile a little cold.

“Oh really? I’ll be waiting then.”

After speaking, she sidestepped the woman in front of her and walked straight away.

The woman tried to stop her, but Qin Yan was extremely fast and had already exited the mall in the blink of an eye.

Watching Qin Yan’s retreating back, the woman’s beautiful face was now almost twisted into a grotesque mask.

She tightly clutched her bag, her knuckles white from the excessive force. The malice in her eyes was completely undisguised.

“Qin Yan, I won’t make things easy for you!”

Her voice was low, laced with a chilling, sinister coldness.

Her visit to Mo City today had another purpose, besides seeing Mrs. Mo.

This goal, which she had been planning for so many years, absolutely could not go wrong!

And Qin Yan was the biggest variable in her trip to Mo City.

She couldn’t let Qin Yan ruin all her plans!
