He stepped out of the office, the sunlight outside blinding. His phone rang; it was Li Hua.
“Hello, Li Hua, what’s up?” he answered.
“Brother Wang, are you free right now? I need your help with something,” Li Hua’s voice was a little hurried.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’ve run into a bit of trouble here; I need you to come over.”
He frowned. “What kind of problem? Can’t you explain it over the phone?”
“It’s not something I can explain in a few words. Just come over and see for yourself; you’ll understand.”
He thought for a moment. “Alright, where are you?”
“I’m at that coffee shop downtown, the one we went to last time.”
“Okay, I’m on my way.” He hung up and hailed a taxi.
Sitting in the car, he felt a sense of unease. Li Hua was usually very composed; for something to make him this anxious, it must be serious.
Twenty minutes later, he arrived at the coffee shop. Li Hua was already waiting inside, his face a little pale.
“Brother Wang, you’re here,” Li Hua stood up to greet him.
“What’s the situation? You don’t look so good.”
Li Hua sighed. “I’m in trouble.”
