Chapter 1145: Burial Ends, New Path Begins

Chapter 1155

Burying the Past, Forging a New Path

Lee Ping's clone clearly saw that the arms, torn to shreds by Yin Shangren's teeth, had no blood flowing from them at all. Instead, only black pus oozed out. Within the pus, agonizing faces, like tiny tentacles, let out sharp, chilling wails. Yet, Yin Shangren paid them no mind and swallowed them directly.

Yin Shangren's skin seemed to be cut open by a sharp knife, and the tentacles he had swallowed emerged again from his body. However, this time, all the faces had transformed into Yin Shangren's likeness!

Lee Ping hid in a corner of this mutated space, quietly observing the changes. On the surface, it appeared to be Yin Shangren's mad, cannibalistic behavior. In reality, it was the fusion and collision of laws from different fragmented realms. However, unlike the process of law integration in the Abyss of Bluster, where meticulously selected parts were intended for integration into the Xuanhuang Realm, here it was chaotic, disordered, and destructive. It was like being thrown into a garbage dump, madly fighting each other for a slim chance of survival.

The struggle of the world spirits did not last long. Perhaps because this realm was not within the Xuanhuang homeworld, or because of the protection of the Great Qi Dynasty's fortune, the arriving spirits were much weaker than Yin Shangren. After he had swallowed all the arms littering the ground, the surface of his cracking body slowly began to heal.

"It's been a long time since I've enjoyed such a delicacy. I've truly missed it," Yin Shangren said. His voice was no longer the strange double voice from before; it had returned to normal human speech. However, the aura he inadvertently emanated made Lee Ping, who already possessed the combat power of a perfected Soul Transformation cultivator, feel a prickling sensation on his back and a secret shiver of dread. Yet, Yin Shangren showed no hostility. After resolving the hidden threat of the spirits, he immediately began cultivating the "Founding Myself" method.

Lee Ping narrowed his eyes. From his perspective, the fluctuations of law around Yin Shangren were rapidly diminishing. They weren't mysteriously disappearing but were slowly being absorbed into Yin Shangren's body. Yin Shangren's form was as unstable as a wisp of smoke. Faces he had previously absorbed reappeared on the surface of his skin. Terror writhed incessantly, struggling to break free from his body. It looked as if hundreds of tumors, ready to burst at any moment, protruded from Yin Shangren's body simultaneously. It was grotesque and terrifying.

But Yin Shangren remained incredibly resolute. He sat quietly, without the slightest panic. Slowly, those faces seemed to be pulled by some force, returning into his body. One by one, the tumors vanished, and Yin Shangren's appearance gradually normalized. Once the overflowing aura of law that Lee Ping sensed had completely vanished, Yin Shangren suddenly opened his eyes. His gaze, unlike its previous madness and obsession, was now like a deep pool, clear and tranquil.

"Founding Myself," he murmured, staring blankly at his hands.

"How do you feel?" Lee Ping asked.

Yin Shangren did not reply but instead pointed a finger directly at Lee Ping. Nine golden long dragons suddenly appeared, roaring as they guarded Lee Ping. Beneath Lee Ping's feet, a mud pit had appeared at some unknown time. Lee Ping himself was being silently swallowed by the pit. And in Lee Ping's perception, the overall fortune of the Great Qi Dynasty was, at that moment, continuously draining away, as if a small hole had been poked in it. Although the rate of fortune loss was slow, there was no immediate way to stop it. The golden dragons coiled, emitting protective light, safeguarding Lee Ping above the mud pit. He did not counterattack but instead clicked his tongue in praise, saying, "Master has great skill."

Yin Shangren waved his hand, and the mud pit beneath Lee Ping's feet instantly vanished. "This is the most malicious curse and resentment of a world on the verge of death," he explained. "In the past, if I wanted to manifest such a curse, I would have been significantly affected myself. At the very least, I would have been mentally confused for half a year or more. But now..." Yin Shangren held his finger before his eyes. At his fingertip, the mud pit suddenly reappeared. Yet it was firmly restrained, moving only within the confines of his index finger.

"Everything within my body is a foundation for cultivation," he murmured. "I can achieve anything I desire with a single thought," Yin Shangren added.

Following this, Yin Shangren explained in detail to Lee Ping his experiences after achieving "Founding Myself" and his understanding of the "New New Method" path. "The Heavenly Venerate's New Method, in essence, inexplicably places a shackle on everyone in the world based on the original cultivation system. As long as one cultivates, this shackle becomes a part of them. And all the obstacles on the path of cultivation ahead are dug out with specifically shaped holes."

"Only by wearing the shackles and conforming to the specific shapes can one pass through." As Yin Shangren spoke, words appeared in the air before him, spontaneously gathering and recording themselves. "However, the path of the New Method, 'Founding Myself,' is about integrating these imposed shackles into one's own being! On the obstacles ahead, no matter what difficulty arises, you can adapt through your own transformation..."

Yin Shangren described it meticulously, and Lee Ping listened very carefully. "For instance, if you also wish to practice 'Founding Myself,' then you would likely need to refine and absorb this entire dynasty into your body..." he suddenly said.

Lee Ping pondered for a moment, then seemed to realize something. "If that were the case, I fear my Emperor's Qi Canon and the billions of subjects of the Great Qi would all remain fixed at the moment they were absorbed by me."

"'Founding Myself' means burying all of one's past to forge a path to a limitless future..."

Yin Shangren clapped his hands in approval, exclaiming, "Precisely!"

The words before him finally coalesced into a thin booklet. Yin Shangren held this compilation of insights in his hand, his face filled with delight. Even though it was his own summarized insights, and he couldn't be more familiar with it, Yin Shangren joyfully flipped through it several times. But as he looked at the blank pages that followed, a troubled expression appeared on his face.

"'Primal Chaos Golden Core'. What is Primal Chaos?"

At the Myriad Immortals Alliance Headquarters.

Since Yan Huan's departure, no other outsiders had come to the Dharma Derivation Space. Evidently, the impact of the last curse attack had not yet faded, and Yan Huan's previous visit was merely a special exception.

Five hundred years of guardianship were not easily passed. Thus, Zhang Xu and Hua Yueye, the two guardian elders, each possessed their own unique ways of passing the time. Zhang Xu had evolved a mortal world within his sea of consciousness. He then sealed a wisp of his consciousness, blocking its perception, and cast it into the world to experience various exciting lives through reincarnation. Hua Yueye, on the other hand, had split off another version of herself. The "two" of them sat discussing the Dao, honing their skills against each other. No one understood her better than herself, so they were in perfect harmony and quite content.

As for Lee Fan, he didn't indulge in such elaborate pastimes. He was simultaneously studying the latest array derivation results from the Terminal Disintegration Disk and monitoring the experiences of his Sacred Embryo and clones.
