A moment later, another beam of light shot out from the opposite end of the small square box.
The box trembled violently, seemingly consuming a vast amount of energy. Seeing this, Li Ping infused it with some golden source energy. Nourished, the square box slowly stabilized. Eventually, the light from both ends vanished, and an item identical to the original light-shrouded object appeared in the Holy Dynasty Treasury.
Li Ping drew both light spheres into his hands and examined them closely. Inside the two light spheres were two identical swords. They appeared to be crafted from ten-thousand-year-old ice, their blades emitting an icy-blue glow.
"The Myriad-Year Ice-Sealed Sword is forged from the Ethereal Chill Core, an exotic substance that caused an entire realm to freeze solid," he mused. "If the chill within it were fully unleashed, it could instantly freeze a whole province in the Xuanhuang Realm. I believe even within the current Myriad Immortals Alliance, this sword is a highly valuable treasure."
"However..." Li Ping looked at the other Myriad-Year Ice-Sealed Sword in his hand. He could discern no difference whatsoever.
"To think this small square box could so easily replicate it," Li Ping thought, his mind racing.
As Li Ping pondered, the square box wriggled and transformed back into the shape of a small kitten. It appeared quite sluggish, as if greatly drained. It yawned, then refused to move, simply settling on Li Ping's shoulder and falling into a deep sleep. It was clearly not an act; it had no interest even in the golden source energy Li Ping offered.
Li Ping did not disturb it. Such a treasure was best kept close.
"Currently, it seems this treasure's function, when in the form of the square box, is replication," he mused. "It can achieve complete replication of items. This treasure appears to still be in its growth phase; there are some things it can't replicate yet. And each replication consumes a great deal of energy, requiring a period of rest and recovery."
"Furthermore, this treasure doesn't just have the square box and cat forms. There should be other transformations..." Li Ping gently stroked the sleeping cat, and it responded with an unconscious purr.
"Interesting," he murmured. "My painstaking efforts in setting up the fishing pond have finally yielded a surprise. Since its initial manifestation was as a cat-shaped statue, I'll call it Cat Treasure."
When Cat Treasure was first fished out, it was merely an ordinary white light sphere. Yet, it was clear that a Cat Treasure with replication capabilities could not possibly be of only white quality.
"While it might have been unactivated at first, regardless, it managed to deceive even the Immortal Treasure Fishing Pond," Li Ping pondered. "The origin of this Cat Treasure is highly unusual. It might even come from beyond the High Wall..."
Li Ping's form flickered, and he returned to his Holy Emperor's Throne. "This Cat Treasure will be a great asset in my struggle against the Myriad Immortals Alliance."
In the Sun family's secret chamber, Li Fan's main body and his other clones were already aware of Cat Treasure's existence. However, in this current life, Cat Treasure could maximize its value in the Holy Emperor's hands, so there was no urgency to retrieve it using an anchor point.
"Moreover, it's still in its infancy," Li Fan thought. "Its full potential needs further observation. Beyond man-made magical artifacts, can it also replicate natural wonders of the Xuanhuang Realm, or even existences like the End-Disintegration Disk?"
"If it could..." Li Fan considered for a moment, concluding it would merely speed up his collection progress. Wasn't every one of his returns to true equivalent to replicating the entire world? At this thought, Li Fan's slightly fluctuating mind instantly calmed.
His thoughts returned to the Sun family. The Myriad Immortals Alliance headquarters had lifted its lockdown, and Sun Luyao had been summoned by Controller Fu for a detailed discussion. However, the multi-colored rainbow light that had escaped Xuanhuang remained under the strictest level of secrecy. The combined scrutiny of the Heavenly Profound Mirror's original form and the Immeasurable Mirror still failed to uncover anything.
Li Fan was not in a hurry. There were no impenetrable walls in the world; even the strongest protective measures would eventually fail over time. All he had to do was wait patiently. Furthermore, he was not the only one in the Myriad Immortals Alliance interested in the multi-colored rainbow light. By utilizing the Heavenly Profound Mirror, he could continuously monitor the Myriad Immortals Alliance. As long as they discovered the secret through some method, it meant Li Fan would also know.
"Senior, will the method you mentioned for resolving the Wind Calamity of Annihilation truly work?" Sun Luyao, who usually held Li Fan in great reverence, suddenly blurted out.
"It's like this," Sun Luyao quickly explained before Li Fan could answer. "Recently, for some unknown reason, strange images frequently flash in my mind. They are all things I've never experienced before, and after much thought, they are most likely residual effects left by the Wind Calamity of Annihilation..."
At Li Fan's clone's signal, Sun Luyao projected the images he saw. The images were blurry and flickered extremely rapidly. Li Fan could only glimpse scenes of countless beings instantly turning to dust. And the methods those beings displayed in their struggle on the brink of life and death... they did not seem to be something ordinary cultivators could wield.
"A scene of a great calamity in the immortal realm," Li Fan mused inwardly, yet showed no hint of solemnity on his face. He scoffed, "Don't scare yourself. Do you think what you're suffering is the true Wind Calamity of Annihilation? It's merely remnants after countless transmissions."
"Don't worry, as long as your brother can find information about the You Clan, I have ninety percent confidence in helping you expel it."
Such a confident tone immediately eased Sun Luyao's mind. In his view, the various methods displayed by this mysterious senior were probably no less impressive than those of a legendary true immortal.
Sun Lu Yuan did not make them wait long. Three days later, he quietly returned to the secret chamber. Unlike his previous grave demeanor, this time his face was filled with uncontrollable joy.
"Brother, have you found clues about the You Clan?" Sun Luyao asked.
Sun Lu Yuan shook his head. "That's still being inquired about; I believe we'll have clues soon."
"Then why..."
Sun Lu Yuan lowered his voice, but could not hide his excitement. "The Dharma-Imparting Celestial Venerable communicated with the Myriad Immortals Alliance this time and also conducted a sweeping inspection of the Alliance headquarters. He issued relevant instructions and made some personnel adjustments."
"That old man Fu, because his strength hasn't improved much over the years, seems to have been explicitly criticized by the Celestial Venerable. He's utterly terrified and will be in secluded cultivation for a long time, so he won't be able to bother us for now."
Sun Luyao also brightened at the news. "By the way, when the Celestial Venerable inspected the Alliance, did he discover anything about the Heavenly Profound Mirror's human clone?" Sun Luyao asked.
"That's unclear. However, from the current situation, it seems he didn't find anything," Sun Lu Yuan replied. "I've also been monitoring the Heavenly Profound Mirror's human clone, and there have been no abnormalities so far."
