Wo Wudi's words were spoken casually, yet to the cultivators present, they were like a clap of thunder. Each one was dumbfounded and utterly shocked. As they gazed at the man confronting Shen Yurou from afar, their minds reeled in confusion. How could someone who had finally cultivated to the Huashen Realm simply abandon their cultivation and start anew? Could it be that cultivation breakthroughs were as easy as eating and drinking for him?
Wo Wudi paid no attention to the astonishment of those around him. Instead, he stared provocatively at Shen Yurou and asked, "What? You don't think I can defeat you just because I'm currently at the Foundation Establishment stage, do you?" This declaration caused even greater uproar. The gap between Foundation Establishment and Nascent Soul was truly immense. For a Nascent Soul True Monarch, killing an ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivator was akin to crushing an ant. Yet, from Wo Wudi's words, it seemed he, despite his Foundation Establishment cultivation, could defeat a Nascent Soul cultivator? How could this be possible?
What astonished everyone was that Shen Yurou, with his flowing long hair and feminine appearance, did not react angrily to Wo Wudi's provocation. He merely cast a wary glance at Wo Wudi, let out a cold snort, and offered no rebuttal. This was tantamount to a direct admission of Wo Wudi's claim! Perhaps Shen Yurou, despite being a Nascent Soul cultivator, truly was no match for Wo Wudi, who was only at the Foundation Establishment stage! The cultivators' gazes toward the man in golden armor shifted once more.
At this point, Shen Yurou, whose pride had been wounded, suddenly smiled faintly and retorted with sarcasm, "In Jiushan State, anyone with decent information knows you are Venerable Feixue's precious darling. Forget the Foundation Establishment stage, even if you were at the Qi Condensation stage and stood still letting me strike, I wouldn't dare! If I were to injure you, and that person came knocking, our Lingyuan Sect certainly couldn't handle it!" Upon hearing this, the onlookers' gazes at Wo Wudi changed again. They all wore expressions of understanding. Shen Yurou's words seemed to strike a nerve with Wo Wudi, whose face instantly darkened as he glared fiercely at Shen Yurou.
However, Shen Yurou had no intention of entangling with him further. He extended a hand with a smile, gesturing for Wo Wudi to proceed. Wo Wudi gave him a cold glance but, for some unknown reason, did not continue to provoke him. Instead, he turned and entered the mountain pass.
Just then, a clear, childish voice suddenly rang out from the crowd: "Wait, wait! I'm with him, let me through!" Everyone was startled and looked in the direction of the voice. They saw a little girl, only seven or eight years old, dressed in red, calling out as she quickly ran towards Wo Wudi. Following closely behind her was a bronzed-skinned middle-aged man, with a somewhat helpless expression on his face. The little girl was, of course, Su Xiaomei, and the middle-aged man was Zhang Haobo.
Su Xiaomei scampered over to Wo Wudi, patted his arm, looking as if she was relieved to have caught up. "Let's go, let's go!" she urged, her large, innocent eyes fixed on him.
Wo Wudi was initially somewhat bewildered. He scrutinized the little girl who had appeared out of nowhere and was about to speak, but his expression subtly shifted, and the words on the tip of his tongue instantly changed. "Alright! Let's go!" he said, revealing a rather amused smile before entering the mountain pass. Zhang Haobo, with a solemn expression, followed closely behind.
The crowd watched them depart, all speculating about the little girl's identity. Shen Yurou's expression, too, became unsettled, lost in thought.
The Xishishan mountain pass was several miles long, carved directly through the mountain. It seemed to have been forcefully hewn out of the mountain's core, and Lingyuan Sect cultivators were stationed at regular intervals along it. Wo Wudi did not inquire about Su Xiaomei's background or intentions; he simply focused on traveling.
At this point, Zhang Haobo sent a telepathic message to Su Xiaomei: "Xiaomei, what are you trying to do? That person ahead is not someone to provoke easily. Why are you forcing a connection with him? Is it just to save those two hundred spirit stones?" Su Xiaomei paused. "What spirit stones! Am I that stingy? And don't always treat me like a child! Besides, you're an adult, why are you so timid? 'Not someone to provoke'... He's at the Foundation Establishment stage, and so am I. What's there to be afraid of?"
Zhang Haobo was left somewhat speechless by her retort. *Your Foundation Establishment stage is hardly comparable to anyone else's Foundation Establishment stage*, he thought. However, the somewhat rebellious Su Xiaomei not only didn't hold back but instead moved closer and started asking a barrage of questions. "Is your name really Wo Wudi? Why is that name so strange?" "Were you really a Huashen cultivator before, who then abandoned your cultivation to re-cultivate?" "What's it like to be a Huashen cultivator?" "That armor you're wearing, it looks good, is it some kind of treasure?"
Although Wo Wudi didn't answer Su Xiaomei's questions, he didn't get angry. In fact, a faint, inexplicable smile even appeared on his face. Zhang Haobo suddenly understood. He knew that the cultivation technique Su Xiaomei practiced allowed her to detect the most subtle emotional changes in those around her. Her seemingly reckless behavior earlier had, in fact, carried no risk.
"It seems Xiaomei has another purpose," Zhang Haobo thought to himself. "Indeed, I shouldn't underestimate her just because of her young age." The three continued their journey, with only Su Xiaomei constantly chattering. Soon, they passed through the mountain path and left the vicinity of Shi Xi Mountain.
At this point, Wo Wudi, who had been silent all along, suddenly stopped. He turned to Su Xiaomei and asked with interest, "You're an amusing child. We're complete strangers, aren't we? Why did you say you were with me?" Su Xiaomei tilted her head and innocently replied, "We're traveling together now, doesn't that make us a team?" Her mischievous eyes darted around as she then asked, "You still haven't answered my questions!"
Wo Wudi chuckled, not annoyed. "Alright, let me introduce myself first. My name is Shuofeng; 'Wo Wudi' is just a nickname I use when traveling the world. And you, little girl?" "I'm Su Xiaomei, and that's Zhang Haobo!" Su Xiaomei replied quickly. "Su Xiaomei..." Shuofeng repeated the name. Then, he looked at her seriously and asked, "Su Xiaomei, what do you want with me?"
As soon as he said this, Zhang Haobo immediately became tense. Su Xiaomei, however, was completely unafraid; her eyes lit up as she boldly replied, "Because your name is too arrogant! 'Invincible'? I don't accept it! I want to fight you!" This answer was entirely unexpected for Shuofeng. He was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing. "Good! What an interesting child!" he exclaimed. "Coincidentally, I've been itching for some action after all this travel. This place is deserted and open, why don't we have our fight right here?"
