Chapter 345: All-Knowing Emperor San Mo

“Of course I know!” Xu Ke’s voice held a hint of pride.

“I told you, Senior Brother Lu Ya is very kind,” he said. “When he brought me to the Beast Taming Sect, the sect was so vast, and he knew I was mischievous and liked to run around. To make it easier to find me, he gave me a jade token. It lets him sense my location at any time. And the function is two-way; I can find him whenever I want too. Hehe, actually, I know Senior Brother Lu Ya gave me this jade token because he was afraid I’d be bullied when I first joined the sect.”

As Xu Ke spoke, he showed Li Fan the jade token hanging around his neck. Li Fan looked and saw that the jade token resembled the human-faced, tiger-bodied beast Lu Ya had ridden earlier. However, seeing Xu Ke’s triumphant expression, Li Fan’s current body felt an inexplicable surge of annoyance.

Immediately, he retorted coldly, “Since the jade token is two-way, Senior Brother Lu Ya will definitely know you’re coming. He’s with Mr. Bai right now, and he didn’t want you to meet Mr. Bai before. So, he’ll definitely avoid you this time too.”

Xu Ke dismissed the comment with a silly grin, “Xiao Xuan, you’re overthinking it, he definitely won’t…” But before he could finish, he suddenly froze. “What’s going on? The sense really just disappeared?!”

The Azure Luan bird beneath them hadn’t reacted yet and continued to fly dumbly in the direction Xu Ke had initially indicated. Xu Ke’s face fell, and he grumbled, “Xiao Xuan, you’re such a jinx! Good things never come true, but bad things you predict always do…”

Li Fan scoffed and swiped a claw at him.

Xu Ke rubbed his head but didn’t give up on finding Lu Ya. An idea suddenly sparked in his mind. “Xiao Xuan, since you’re the legendary Destined Black Bird, you must be very capable, right? So, can you help me find Senior Brother Lu Ya and Mr. Bai’s current location?”

Li Fan tilted his head slightly, an arrogant expression on his face. Seeing this, Xu Ke immediately showered him with compliments and promised to find three ‘Thornworm Grass’ for Li Fan. The unparalleled deliciousness of that red worm grass from before was still deeply etched in the Black Bird’s soul. Tempted by the delicacy, and also genuinely curious to see if he could meet the enigmatic Mr. Bai, Li Fan decided to try.

With a leap, he landed on Xu Ke’s head. Activating his innate divine ability, he gazed into the distance. Both Lu Ya and Mr. Bai were surely individuals with extraordinary luck. Within the Beast Taming Sect, their aura should be highly noticeable. As Li Fan thought this, the result was somewhat unexpected. Not far away, he did indeed see a brilliant azure glow of luck, remarkably striking. However, beside that blue glow, there was nothing else.

“Could it be that Mr. Bai has already left the Beast Taming Sect?” “Or is this prominent luck not Lu Ya’s?” Li Fan was somewhat puzzled but still mentally marked the location for Xu Ke.

Xu Ke was extremely excited and quickly urged Xiao Qing to fly rapidly towards the target. The Azure Luan bird, remarkably obedient to the young boy it had only recently met, carried him diligently, accelerating its flight.

Lu Ya’s location appeared to be in a small house on a mountaintop. Just as Xu Ke and his companion were about to approach, a slender figure flew out from the mountaintop and vanished in an instant. Li Fan, however, faintly sensed that the person who had just left seemed to glance in Xu Ke’s direction.

“Mr. Bai!” Xu Ke exclaimed.

Li Fan, however, grew solemn. He saw very clearly that above Mr. Bai’s head, there was no trace of luck to be observed. "Sensing luck is the innate divine ability of the Black Bird clan. What level of cultivation allows even a Destined Black Bird to be unable to observe it?" In the ancestral memories passed down through the bloodline of the Black Bird Li Fan possessed, its ancestors seemed never to have encountered such a situation.

Xu Ke stared blankly for a moment in the direction Mr. Bai had disappeared. After a moment of hesitation, he still urged Xiao Qing to fly towards Senior Brother Lu Ya’s mountaintop house.

Upon reaching the mountaintop, Xu Ke, with Li Fan, eagerly leaped down and rushed towards the house.

“Senior Brother Lu Ya!” Xu Ke excitedly pushed open the door, but was surprised to find another person inside besides Lu Ya. The person had a lean face, white eyebrows, and a white beard. An aura of authority, even without anger, emanated from him, causing Xu Ke’s body to stiffen abruptly.

After merely glancing at the impetuous Xu Ke who had burst in, the white-bearded elder and Lu Ya continued their unfinished conversation. Without any intention of hiding anything from Xu Ke, the white-bearded elder said, “Since you’ve already agreed, then do as he requests. Even though he forced his way in, it might not be entirely a bad thing.”

A surprised expression appeared on Lu Ya’s face. “Senior, what did you see?”

The white-bearded elder didn’t answer but instead smiled and counter-questioned, “Lu Ya, do you believe Mr. Bai’s words?”

Lu Ya suddenly fell silent.

The white-bearded elder shook his head. “People make mistakes. Sometimes, frankly admitting your errors is nothing to be ashamed of.”

Lu Ya, however, stated frankly, “I only believe what I see with my own eyes.”

“Many times, what you see isn’t necessarily the truth,” the white-bearded elder sighed softly. However, he seemed to know Lu Ya’s temperament, which wasn’t easily swayed. So, he didn’t dwell on the topic but instead said, “A great calamity is approaching. Our Beast Taming Sect might not be able to escape it. But amidst the desolation, I also saw a glimmer of hope. This glimmer of hope is related to Mr. Bai’s task. And it’s also related to this young friend.”

The white-bearded elder’s gaze turned to Xu Ke, who was frozen in place, utterly bewildered.

“Him?” Lu Ya turned to look at Xu Ke, his expression unreadable.

“None other than him,” the white-bearded elder nodded.

Lu Ya shrugged, “Although you, Senior, are known as Di Sanmo, the All-Knowing Beast Emperor of Wisdom, who knows everything under heaven, to say that the Beast Taming Sect’s only hope rests on this kid is truly a bit too outlandish. I, for one, don’t believe it.”

Di Sanmo didn’t argue but smiled and said, “Who can claim to know the entirety of the River of Destiny? So-called ‘all-knowing’ is merely a misunderstanding outsiders have of me. However…” Di Sanmo paused. “This boy bursting in today, and his subtle connection to both Mr. Bai and you, actually makes me more confident in my judgment. After all, I too only believe what I see with my own eyes.”

The smile on Di Sanmo’s face suddenly vanished, and his expression became extremely serious. Seeing this, Lu Ya could only nod slightly.

“Anyway, there’s still some time until Mr. Bai’s… until his task, which is enough time for this kid to grow. But what about those troublemakers in the sect right now? Are we really just going to ignore them? Our Beast Taming Sect hasn’t fallen yet, has it?” Lu Ya frowned, his tone displeased.

“Let those who want to leave, leave,” Di Sanmo said, showing no anger at all. “When the great calamity descends, protecting each additional disciple will require more effort. Taking this opportunity to streamline things might not be so bad.”
