Chapter 4756: Hills and Mountains

Thirty thousand years passed on Qinglian Immortal Island.

Inside a secret chamber on Qinglian Peak, Wang Changsheng sat cross-legged on a blue futon, his gaze fixed on the Qinglian Cauldron of Creation in front of him.

After Ye Haitang advanced to Dao Ancestor, Wang Changsheng returned to Qinglian Peak to refine Dao artifacts. Wang Qingling, Ye Haitang, Wang Qingshan, and others had all acquired a batch of fifth-tier immortal materials, including those for refining artifacts, alchemy, crafting talismans, setting up formations, and brewing wine. Additionally, Dao Ancestor Qihong had given Wang Changsheng another batch of fifth-tier immortal materials. Wang Changsheng had already refined several Dao artifacts and was now upgrading the grade of the Seafixing Pearls. If the Seafixing Pearls were to become Dao artifacts, Wang Changsheng's strength would significantly increase.

A moment later, Wang Changsheng changed his hand seals, and the raging flames dispersed. He opened the cauldron lid, and eighteen blue glowing beads flew out, emitting terrifying immortal energy fluctuations. Immortal light flowed continuously on the surface of the beads, as if imbued with a hint of Dao charm.

"Success at last."

Wang Changsheng's face showed joy. He had failed once before, indicating that refining a complete set of Dao artifacts was indeed quite challenging.

A sound transmission paper crane flew in, hovering uncertainly above Wang Changsheng's head. Wang Changsheng cast a spell, and Wang Qingcheng's voice sounded: "Father, Mother is in the process of establishing her second Supreme Source Law, which has triggered a lightning tribulation. She is currently undergoing it."

It had been over twenty million years since Wang Ruyan advanced to Dao Ancestor, so it was not surprising for her to establish a second Supreme Source Law. With Ye Haitang having advanced to Dao Ancestor, she could assist in setting up fifth-tier immortal formations, making it easier for Wang Ruyan to establish her second source law.

Wang Changsheng opened the door and stepped out, seeing Wang Qingcheng standing at the entrance.

"Let's go, let's take a look," Wang Changsheng said.

They left Qinglian Immortal Island and appeared above a continuous range of verdant mountains. Ye Haitang, Wang Yixin, and Sun Yuejiao stood atop a peak, gazing at the distant nine-colored thunderclouds. Lightning flashed and thunder roared as thick bolts of nine-colored immortal lightning tore across the sky, striking down below.

In a colossal valley surrounded by mountains on three sides, a dense silver light barrier enveloped the entire area. The surface of the silver barrier was covered with countless mysterious runes, forming intricate lightning patterns. Inside the silver light barrier, Wang Ruyan sat cross-legged on a green lotus platform, holding a silver formation plate in her hand.

One after another, thick bolts of nine-colored immortal lightning struck the silver light barrier. The silver barrier trembled slightly, but the nine-colored immortal lightning vanished without a trace, like mud sinking into the ocean. The Five Immortals Thunder Restraining Formation could weaken the power of the lightning tribulation. With this formation and other treasures, it would not be a major problem for Wang Ruyan to establish her second Supreme Source Law.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Qingcheng flew over and looked towards the nine-colored thunderclouds high in the sky. As time passed, the falling nine-colored immortal lightning bolts grew increasingly thicker.

Wang Yixin's graceful brows furrowed slightly. She took out a golden, shimmering Dharma plate, cast a spell into it, and her face lit up with joy as she said, "Ancestral Master, Ancestor Meng Bin is attempting to break through to Dao Ancestor realm."

"It seems today is a day of double blessings!" Ye Haitang said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Wang Changsheng also showed a joyful expression.

"Ancestral Master, a Dao Ancestor has come to see you," Wang Yixin said. "We've never heard of him before."

"A reclusive Dao Ancestor!" Wang Changsheng frowned. "Where is he now?"

"Xuan yang City!" Wang Yixin replied. "He seems not to want his presence to be known. He concealed his aura and only revealed his true cultivation when he met Lihe."

"You all stay here; I will go and meet him," Wang Changsheng instructed, then transformed into a streak of light, piercing through the air and departing from the location.

In Xuan yang City, Immortal Welcome Hall.

Wang Lihe was standing, talking to a burly, bearded man with a rugged face. The burly man had large hands and feet and an unfathomable aura.

"Is Fellow Daoist Wang not here?" the burly man asked, his voice resonant.

"This junior has already informed the patriarch," Wang Lihe replied cautiously. "As for the Ancestral Master's whereabouts, this junior truly does not know." The movements of the Wang family's Dao Ancestors were top secret. Even if Wang Lihe knew, he wouldn't disclose them to outsiders.

"Welcome, Fellow Daoist, I apologize for not meeting you sooner," a resonant male voice rang out. No sooner had the voice faded than countless wisps of blue mist emerged, suddenly coalescing to form Wang Changsheng.

"I am Wang Changsheng," Wang Changsheng asked with a slight smile and polite tone, "How should I address you, Fellow Daoist?"

"I am Qiu Shan!" the burly man replied. "I have long heard of Fellow Daoist Wang's great reputation and specifically came to pay my respects."

"Fellow Daoist Qiu, you are too kind," Wang Changsheng said modestly. "I have no great reputation to speak of."

"To be frank, I came here this time to ask Fellow Daoist Wang for help in repairing a set of defensive Dao artifacts. I wonder if Fellow Daoist Wang can assist?" Qiu Shan said. "This is the deposit. After the task is completed, I will offer a generous reward."

Qiu Shan took out a yellow storage bracelet and handed it to Wang Changsheng. Wang Changsheng's divine sense swept over it, and a flash of surprise crossed his eyes. Inside were over a thousand pieces of fifth-tier immortal materials.

"Fellow Daoist Qiu, you trust me so much?" Wang Changsheng asked. "Aren't you afraid I might ruin it during refinement?"

"Then I can only resign myself to bad luck," Qiu Shan explained. "Most of the Dao Ancestors from the Chaos Era have gone into hiding, and I'm not clear on the situation of other Dao Ancestors; otherwise, I wouldn't have sought your help."

"Chaos Era?" Wang Changsheng feigned confusion. He recalled Dao Ancestor Qihong's warning that some Dao Ancestors had pledged allegiance to Chaos Beasts, so naturally, he had to pretend not to understand.

"It's a very distant era!" Qiu Shan said. "I am also a Dao Ancestor from that era. Never mind, it's difficult to explain to you. These are the Dao artifacts I need repaired." Qiu Shan flicked his sleeve, and seven yellow spherical beads flew out, landing in front of Wang Changsheng. Each yellow spherical bead had fine cracks on its surface, indicating significant damage.

"What about the repair materials?" Wang Changsheng asked.

Qiu Shan took out a golden storage bracelet and handed it to Wang Changsheng. Wang Changsheng's divine sense swept over it, and he nodded. If he helped repair this set of Dao artifacts, the remaining materials would still be enough to refine two more defensive Dao artifacts. Qiu Shan had indeed prepared a generous amount of materials.

"I will do my best to help Fellow Daoist Qiu repair these treasures," Wang Changsheng said. "Once repaired, where should I find you?"

"I will come to collect them in a million years. How does that sound?" Qiu Shan suggested.

"No problem!" Wang Changsheng agreed.

"By the way," Qiu Shan cautioned with a solemn expression, "Do not reveal my existence to other Dao Ancestors, and certainly do not spread it outside, to avoid unnecessary trouble. If the Chaos Beasts were to learn of my identity, you would also be in trouble."

"Your identity?" Wang Changsheng asked, confused. "Besides being a Dao Ancestor, does Fellow Daoist Qiu have other identities?"

"I am from the Ancient Immortal Court," Qiu Shan stated.

"Ancient Immortal Court?" Wang Changsheng appeared utterly bewildered. He did not know which side the other party belonged to, so he had to continue his act.

"It's best that you don't know," Qiu Shan said, "to avoid unnecessary trouble."

Wang Changsheng nodded and said, "Alright!"

"Very well then," Qiu Shan said, "I shall take my leave now." Qiu Shan's aura rapidly weakened, dropping to the level of an early Grand Unity Golden Immortal.

"Lihe," Wang Changsheng instructed, "please see Fellow Daoist Qiu off for me. The content of our conversation is top secret and must not be divulged."

"Yes, Ancestral Master," Wang Lihe agreed. "Senior Qiu, this way please." Wang Lihe agreed and personally escorted Qiu Shan away.
