Chapter 4782: Unknown Space (Gone Today)

Kunlun Immortal Realm, Jinshan Sea Domain.

The sky was clear for thousands of miles, and the sea was golden. A sea breeze blew, causing ripples across the emerald waves.

A streak of green escape light flew from a distance, stopping with a flash. The light receded, revealing a massive green lotus platform. Wang Changsheng, Wang Ruyan, Wang Qingshan, and others stood upon it, each with a different expression.

“According to Qiulin’s divination, Mu Shuangshuang and Wu Yuebin are here,” Wang Qingbai said, his gaze falling near a hundred-mile-wide deserted island. The island’s terrain was higher in the east and lower in the west, with a lake in its center.

Wang Qingfeng took out an egg-sized spherical pearl, which was a low-grade Dao artifact. The golden pearl emitted dazzling golden light as he held it, observing the deserted island ahead.

“I haven’t found anything unusual! Is its grade not high enough? Does it require a mid-grade Dao artifact?” Wang Qingfeng said, frowning.

“Let me try. If there’s a formation, I can detect it,” Ye Haitang said confidently.

She flicked her sleeve, and a small, black-glowing mirror flew out, floating above her head. She channeled a magic incantation into it, and the mirror’s surface erupted with dazzling black light, emitting a stream of black mist that enveloped a certain point in the void. There was no abnormality.

Ye Haitang flicked her sleeve again, and tens of thousands of black formation flags flew out, hovering in mid-air. “Go!” Ye Haitang softly commanded, changing her hand seals. The tens of thousands of black formation flags immediately burst forth with dazzling black light, flying in all directions and sinking into the seabed.

She then took out a nine-cornered formation disc, shimmering with black light. She channeled several incantations into it, and ripples spread across the void, like folds. Yet, a specific spot in the void remained completely undisturbed.

“Found it!” Ye Haitang’s eyes lit up. She changed her hand seals, and the small black mirror emitted dazzling black light, directing a black mist towards the undisturbed void.

The void still showed no abnormality, while ripples spread across the surrounding void, a stark contrast.

Wang Ruyan’s right hand reached towards the void, and the previously undisturbed spot rippled.

“Open!” Ye Haitang changed her hand seals and channeled another incantation into the formation disc.

That spot in the void tore open, revealing an opening. The opening continuously expanded, becoming about ten feet wide.

Wang Qingbai conjured a shimmering green spirit bean. He channeled an incantation into it, and the green spirit bean burst forth with dazzling green light, transforming into a green peacock that flew into the opening.

“An ancient battlefield! I see some cultivators’ remains,” Wang Qingbai said.

“Let’s all go in together, that way we won’t be separated,” Wang Changsheng said, conjuring a Heaven-grade immortal ship. It carried everyone as it flew into the opening.

Passing through the opening, the Heaven-grade immortal ship appeared above a vast, boundless wasteland. Numerous giant craters were visible, and in the distance, a massive beast skeleton could be seen. It was clearly that of a Chaos Beast, its core missing.

Wang Qingfeng unleashed his divine sense, but found nothing unusual.

Wang Changsheng and the others successively flew out from the Heaven-grade immortal ship and landed on the ground.

“The spiritual energy here isn’t particularly abundant; it doesn’t seem like a treasure trove. It’s more like an ancient battlefield,” Wang Qingshan said, frowning.

Scattered on the ground were some weapon fragments. These fragments shimmered with immortal light, indicating a high grade.

The ground shook violently. Five colossal ten-colored Chaos Beasts appeared on the distant horizon, swiftly rushing towards them. Their bodies were scarred, and they wielded various Dao artifacts, all covered in cracks.

One giant, humanoid ten-colored Chaos Beast wielded a golden great axe, charging directly at Wang Changsheng. Small cracks were visible on the axe blade. Even before it struck, a thick, long crack appeared in the void.

Wang Changsheng quickly conjured his Heaven-Shaking Rod and swung it to meet the attack.

The Heaven-Shaking Rod collided with the golden great axe, producing a muffled clang of metal on metal. Sparks flew, and a powerful wave of air burst forth, tearing through the void.

The other four ten-colored Chaos Beasts charged forward. Wang Qingshan and the others promptly took action, attacking the Chaos Beasts.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan jointly attacked one ten-colored Chaos Beast. Wang Qingshan single-handedly engaged a scarred, one-armed Chaos Beast, while Wang Qingbai and the other five split into three pairs, each pair dealing with one Chaos Beast.

With rumbling explosions, they spread out across the wasteland, engaging in combat and attacking the Chaos Beasts.

Wang Changsheng threw a punch, and a massive green fist flashed forth, imbued with the power of three fundamental laws, heading straight for the ten-colored Chaos Beast. Wang Ruyan followed closely, a colossal blue palm striking towards the Chaos Beast.

The ten-colored Chaos Beast opened its massive maw and let out a loud roar. A golden sound wave, imbued with the power of five innate laws, swept out to meet the attack.

The golden sound wave collided with the green giant fist; the former instantly disintegrated. The green giant fist slammed into the ten-colored Chaos Beast, producing a muffled thud. The Chaos Beast’s body trembled. The blue giant palm then struck its body, causing it to immediately let out a piteous roar, its body shaking.

A flash of blue light, and a miniature blue mountain peak appeared above the ten-colored Chaos Beast’s head—it was the Immortal-Suppressing Peak. The Immortal-Suppressing Peak glowed with dazzling blue light, rapidly expanding in size, and then slammed down.

The ten-colored Chaos Beast quickly swung its golden great axe to meet it. It collided with the Immortal-Suppressing Peak, producing a muffled clang of metal on metal, and numerous cracks appeared on the axe blade’s surface.

Wang Changsheng swung his Heaven-Shaking Rod, smashing it onto the ten-colored Chaos Beast’s body, causing numerous cracks to appear on its chaotic battle armor. Wang Ruyan conjured a green flute and began playing. Streams of green sound blades shot forth, continuously striking the ten-colored Chaos Beast, shattering its chaotic battle armor into pieces.

Wang Changsheng smashed the ten-colored Chaos Beast’s head with a single strike of his rod. The Chaos Beast collapsed, its blood staining the ground red.

“Finally, it’s done!” Wang Changsheng exclaimed. He looked into the distance, his expression darkening.

Wang Qingshan and the other seven were nowhere to be seen. Wang Changsheng unleashed his divine sense, but still couldn’t find them.

“What happened? Where did they go?” Wang Changsheng muttered, a bad feeling rising in his heart.

They had sought treasures many times, but this was the first time they had encountered such a situation.

He released Wang Tun Tian. Wang Tun Tian’s eyes glowed with dazzling yellow light, yet found nothing.

Wang Ruyan activated her True Fire Eyes, but also found nothing.

“It seems the restrictions here are very profound. They separated us silently. Is this man-made?” Wang Ruyan said, frowning.

“Probably not. If it were man-made, it would be more convenient to just activate the formation to attack us directly,” Wang Changsheng analyzed.

They had altered their appearances precisely to prevent being recognized by Chaos Beasts. If Chaos Beasts were controlling this, even if they didn't recognize them, they would have had Pseudo Dao Ancestors activate the formation to eliminate them.

He walked over to the ten-colored Chaos Beast’s corpse, crouched down, and reached out his hand to touch its blood.

“It’s real blood! Not an illusion,” Wang Changsheng said, frowning, as he put the corpse and Dao artifact into his storage bracelet.

His brow furrowed. He shook his wrist, but his storage bracelet showed no abnormality.

“Fake!” Wang Changsheng exclaimed in surprise. The ten-colored Chaos Beast they had fought back and forth with was actually an illusion! What kind of restriction was this? It was too powerful!

“For it to be so lifelike, it must have been conjured by at least a fifth-tier immortal formation or a high-grade Dao artifact. If it’s an immortal formation, this place is likely an ancient immortal court’s hidden treasure or ruins. We must have stumbled into a restriction capable of creating illusions, making it hard to distinguish between reality and falsehood. We just don't know where Qingshan and the others are now,” Wang Ruyan analyzed.

“We can’t separate again, or we might lose contact, just like Qingshan and the others,” Wang Changsheng said. He recalled Wang Tun Tian into his spirit beast bracelet and, together with Wang Ruyan, walked forward, disappearing into the wasteland.
