Wang Yixin entered, bowed, and announced, "Patriarch, Senior Peng has arrived."
"Fellow Daoist Peng!" Wang Changsheng asked, "Did he say what it's about?"
"He said he had something to discuss with the Patriarch," Wang Yixin replied.
Wang Ruyan added curiously, "This is his first time visiting Green Lotus Immortal Island; he's quite a rare guest."
Wang Changsheng instructed, "Please lead him to the reception hall! We'll be there shortly." Wang Yixin agreed and left to carry out the order.
The Wang family had been in the Chaos Realm for over a billion years, and it was the first time a Dao Venerable from the Peng family had visited them. Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan arrived at the reception hall. Soon after, Peng Yishan entered, accompanied by Wang Yixin.
"Fellow Daoist Peng, your esteemed presence brings great honor to our humble abode," Wang Changsheng said politely.
"Fellow Daoist Wang, you are too kind," Peng Yishan replied with a smile. "I should have visited sooner, but I've been preoccupied with various matters."
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Peng Yishan got down to business: "Fellow Daoist Wang, I have a favor to ask on this visit."
"Fellow Daoist Peng, please speak freely. If it is within our power, we will certainly help."
"I have long heard of Fellow Daoist Wang's superb artifact refining skills. I wish to request your assistance in refining a Heavenly Dao Divine Artifact!" Peng Yishan raised his right hand, and a yellow storage bracelet flew out.
Wang Changsheng caught the yellow storage bracelet and swept his divine sense through it, finding over two hundred Dao materials inside. "Fellow Daoist Peng, there are too few materials. At least three hundred and fifty Dao materials are needed."
He didn't say he couldn't refine it, only that the materials were insufficient. If the outside world knew Wang Changsheng could refine Heavenly Dao Divine Artifacts, the Wang family would find it much easier to collect Dao materials. However, there were pros and cons; hostile human forces certainly wouldn't want to see a Dao Venerable emerge who could refine Heavenly Dao Divine Artifacts. Although the Wang family had several Dao Venerables, they had no major conflicts of interest with the native powers of the Chaos Realm, nor did they have any cooperation. This meant that if other forces wished to deal with the Wang family, they wouldn't need to consider other factions, and other factions might not necessarily assist the Wang family. Wang Changsheng intended to let the Peng family know he could refine Heavenly Dao Divine Artifacts, forming a community of interest with them, as interests are eternal.
Peng Yishan was initially stunned, but quickly recovered and asked, "Can Fellow Daoist Wang truly refine Heavenly Dao Divine Artifacts?"
"Fellow Daoist Peng, aren't you here to ask me to help refine a Heavenly Dao Divine Artifact?" Wang Changsheng said with a smile.
Peng Yishan pondered for a moment, then took out another blue storage bracelet, handed it to Wang Changsheng, and asked, "With these additional Dao materials, will it be enough?"
Wang Changsheng swept his divine sense through it, finding over two hundred more Dao materials inside. He nodded and said, "No problem. Once it's refined, I'll send someone to deliver it to you immediately."
"Then I'll trouble Fellow Daoist Wang," Peng Yishan expressed his gratitude, his smile deepening. He had only come to test the waters, and from Wang Changsheng's reaction, it seemed he truly could refine Heavenly Dao Divine Artifacts.
"Fellow Daoist Peng," Wang Ruyan said, "we heard that a Dao Venerable from the Heavenly Kui clan appeared in the Celestial Moon Immortal Domain. They aren't here to back up the Spiritfire clan and act against our human race, are they?" Without significant interests at stake, Dao Venerables would not engage in combat. There aren't many things that can pique a Dao Venerable's interest.
"It's hard to say. That possibility cannot be ruled out," Peng Yishan said, intending to intimidate Wang Changsheng. "With several Dao Venerables emerging from your family, the Spiritfire clan is quite wary of you." The Wang family did have many Dao Venerables, but most were in the early Dao Venerable stage, with not many true masters.
"We haven't formed any enmity with the Spiritfire clan," Wang Changsheng said coldly. "If they can't tolerate us, we won't make things easy for them either." He, of course, said this for Peng Yishan's benefit. Wang Changsheng knew very well that without significant interests, neither the Spiritfire clan's Dao Venerable nor the Heavenly Kui clan's Dao Venerable would make a move.
"Fellow Daoist Peng," Wang Ruyan said, though these were just polite formalities, "if that time truly comes, you can't just stand by. If your family encounters any trouble, we will also do our best to help."
"Of course," Peng Yishan replied. "But you don't need to worry too much. The Dao Venerable from the Heavenly Kui clan is likely here to search for a Dao Venerable named Xing Shen, who fled into the Sea of Guixu."
"Is there anything special about this person?" Wang Changsheng asked curiously, "Enough to warrant a Dao Venerable from the Heavenly Kui clan personally coming to investigate?"
"This person obtained a Great Dao Stone," Peng Yishan explained. "The four major clans dominate the Chaos Realm partly because they possess treasures like Enlightenment Tablets. Supreme Great Dao Origins are extremely rare. Most Dao Venerables rely on prolonged contemplation to comprehend a Supreme Great Dao; relying solely on refining Great Dao Origins is too difficult. A single Supreme Great Dao Origin can make Dao Venerables fight to the death."
"What! A Great Dao Stone," Wang Changsheng exclaimed, shocked.
"It seems this person has quite the fortuitous encounter!" Wang Ruyan wondered, "To obtain a Great Dao Stone."
"Just good luck," Peng Yishan dismissed it lightly and recounted the entire incident.
"So that's how it is," Wang Changsheng said. "But for this person to be able to seize a Great Dao Stone, their luck is indeed remarkable. Fellow Daoist Peng, if you find this person, you'll strike it rich."
"Fellow Daoist Wang, you jest," Peng Yishan promised. "The Sea of Guixu is so vast, it's incredibly difficult to find this person. Furthermore, it's not impossible that this person possesses flying Dao Talismans, making it extremely hard to intercept them. You should also keep an eye out for this person. If you discover their whereabouts, you can inform me, and if we apprehend them, you will certainly be generously rewarded."
"No problem, we'll have people keep an eye out," Wang Changsheng said, puzzled. "Speaking of which, shouldn't diviners from major powers be able to deduce this person's whereabouts?"
"This person is an itinerant cultivator, and little is known about them," Peng Yishan explained. "Perhaps Dao Venerables skilled in divination are already deducing their location, but nothing has been found yet. However, the Sea of Guixu is very peculiar, and some areas can interfere with divination. This is likely why Xing Shen hid there!"
After chatting for over an hour, Peng Yishan bid farewell and departed. Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan personally saw him off.
The Sea of Guixu is not a good place. For a Dao Venerable of the Heavenly Kui clan to go there personally and even ask the Spiritfire clan for help, it seemed this person possessed something very important and quite precious. It certainly wasn't a Heavenly Dao Divine Artifact; it was more likely a Supreme Great Dao Origin.
Wang Ruyan said curiously, "If we knew this person's birth details, I wonder if Qiulin could deduce their whereabouts."
"It's difficult," Wang Changsheng replied. "Unless one is a close relative, his birth details are completely unknown. Alright, I'll figure something out."
Wang Qingshan and several other Dao Venerables were scattered across various large immortal domains, collecting resources and intelligence.
Wang Changsheng then said, "Qingcheng, contact Qingshan and the others. Have them find a way to investigate Xing Shen's background."
"Yes, Father," Wang Qingcheng agreed. With a change of hand seals, he infused a spell into the small yellow mirror. Soon, Wang Qingshan's face appeared on the mirror.
Wang Qingcheng chatted with Wang Qingshan for a few moments, then ended the communication. Wang Qingshan agreed.
