Chapter 4893: The Struggle for the Origin of the Great Dao

Six months later, Wang Changsheng and Wang Qingshan emerged from the Green Lotus Pavilion, their faces beaming with joy. They had both refined the Supreme Grand Dao and obtained its origin, finding the process of refining and mastering it to be straightforward. Within the Wang family, only Wang Ruyan and Wang Qingshan had mastered five Supreme Grand Daos, while Wang Changsheng had mastered six. Other high-ranking members, such as Wang Qingling, Wang Qingbai, and Wang Mengbin, had each mastered four.

"Husband, Qingshan, have you refined the origin of the Grand Dao?" Wang Ruyan asked.

Wang Changsheng nodded and asked, "Has Madam Ji contacted us?"

"Not yet!" Wang Ruyan shook her head.

Wang Changsheng pulled out a small mirror that shimmered with blue light. He cast a spell into it, and the mirror’s surface flared with a dazzling blue glow, revealing Ji Yue’s face.

"Madam Ji, have you reached the Land of Return to Emptiness?" Wang Changsheng inquired.

"We have, what about you?" Ji Yue replied.

"We've arrived too, Madam Ji. Would it be convenient to disclose your current location? We are in Golden Snake Valley," Wang Changsheng said.

"I can't pinpoint our exact location, but we're in a dense forest. By the way, I received news that the three Heavenly Demon tribes might be heading to a particular place where the origin of the last Grand Dao might reside," Ji Yue stated solemnly.

"Where is that place?" Wang Changsheng was slightly taken aback.

Ji Yue gave a brief description of the place, unsure if Wang Changsheng possessed a map of the Land of Return to Emptiness.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, if we want to obtain the origin of the last Grand Dao, let's meet there," Ji Yue suggested.

"No problem, we'll get there as quickly as we can," Wang Changsheng agreed.

After a brief chat, Wang Changsheng ended the communication.

"The place Madam Ji mentioned is where the 'Dao Origin' is located. What she said is very likely true; the origin of the last Grand Dao is there. Whoever obtains and refines this origin will be able to control all three thousand Grand Daos, becoming the sole embodiment of the Dao," Wang Ruyan said, holding a map in her hand.

"Let's set off! I hope we can make it in time and prevent the Heavenly Demon Clan, the Chaos Clan, and the Asura Clan from getting there first," Wang Changsheng said in a deep voice.

Ye Haitang put away the formation, and the group departed.

In a vast valley surrounded on three sides by mountains, Asura and over thirty Dao Masters stood. Not far away, there was a cave several zhang in size. Asura held a map, while a large pile of items—jade slips, Heavenly Dao artifacts, Dao materials, and more—lay scattered on the ground nearby.

"Our judgment was indeed correct; the origin of the last Grand Dao truly is there. Xuan Hunzi went there to seek treasure, encountered Dao Master Xuanyang, and they both fought fiercely, heavily wounding each other. They were also severely injured by the restrictions, which explains why we haven't heard from them for so many years," Asura said, a look of sudden understanding on his face.

"Is the origin of the last Grand Dao truly there? The last time we explored that area, we lost several clansmen who were mid-stage Dao Masters," Abi Sha said with a frown.

They had explored the Land of Return to Emptiness multiple times, gaining much but also suffering significant casualties among their Dao Masters.

"We haven't breached that area yet; we'll just have to try," Asura stated.

He gathered the items from the ground and led his clansmen away.

In the center of the Land of Return to Emptiness, a continuous range of emerald green mountains stretched out. The void above was filled with colorful light rays, like a giant spiderweb, sealing off a vast area. Numerous massive empty voids were also visible. Xi, An, and over thirty other Chaos Beasts stood in an open clearing, their expressions grave.

Xi launched a punch, and a colossal six-colored fist flashed forth, striking a section of the light-filled void. The void collapsed, the light rays snapped, and a gap about a zhang in size appeared.

"Liu Ping, Chen An, go in and investigate. Find the origin of the last Grand Dao, and I will reward you handsomely," Xi commanded.

Liu Ping and Chen An exchanged glances, nodded to each other, and flew through the gap. They summoned their complete sets of Heavenly Dao artifacts to protect themselves, their faces etched with vigilance. After advancing more than ten li, a colossal black hole appeared without warning, and their bodies were uncontrollably drawn towards it. They cast spell after spell, but it was futile. Controlling their Heavenly Dao artifacts to attack the black hole also proved useless, and they watched helplessly as they were swallowed by it.

Witnessing this, Xi frowned.

Three Human Dao Masters exchanged glances, then transformed into three streaks of light and shot away through the air, attempting to escape the area.

"Trying to leave? Did you ask for my permission?" Xi sneered.

No sooner had he spoken than the three Human Dao Masters' bodies exploded, their souls utterly annihilated.

"Who's hiding there? Get out!" An said with a cold face.

"Fellow Daoist An, long time no see," a gentle male voice resounded.

As soon as the voice faded, Jian Xiao, Jian Feng, and over thirty other Dao Masters appeared, their expressions varied.

"The Heavenly Demon Clan! Are you trying to ambush us from behind?" Xi asked, clearly displeased.

"Not at all. We merely wish to form an alliance with you. What do you say?" Jian Xiao replied.

"An alliance? How would that work? If you obtain the origin of the last Grand Dao, will you yield it to me?" Xi sneered.

"Of course not, but that's a matter for us to decide later. At the very least, we cannot allow Ji Yue to obtain it. If she masters all three thousand Grand Daos, she will certainly not spare either of us," Jian Xiao stated.

"So, you mean we should first join forces against the others?" Xi sounded somewhat intrigued.

"Exactly. The origin of the last Grand Dao must be here; we just haven't discovered it yet. Many of our clansmen died here because they didn't fully explore it to the end," Jian Xiao analyzed. They had explored this place before, losing many Dao Masters in the process, which led them to abandon the search. Other than this location, they had scoured the entire Land of Return to Emptiness without any significant findings.

"What if it's not here?" Xi said. He had once forced his way into this area and was severely injured by the restrictions, almost dying.

"Then we'll have guessed wrong. Are you willing to take that chance?" Jian Xiao asked.

"What a lively gathering! So many fellow Daoists assembled here," a female voice remarked.

No sooner had the voice spoken than a red light flew from the distance. It shimmered and stopped, revealing a red flying boat with Ji Yue standing at the forefront, her expression icy.

"Madam Ji, you've arrived at a most opportune moment," Jian Xiao said, his face filled with murderous intent.

"You wish to kill me? Feel free to try," Ji Yue sneered.

A streak of green light appeared on the distant horizon, shimmering to a halt. It revealed a green dragon boat with Wang Changsheng and others standing aboard.

"The Wang family!" Jian Xiao frowned.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, you've finally arrived," Ji Yue greeted.

Wang Changsheng nodded. Just as he was about to speak, he looked into the distance and said, "Do you Asura Clan members always prefer to ambush from the shadows? You're here, so come out!"

"That's a line I should be saying," a cold male voice retorted.

A black flying boat approached from the distance, carrying Asura and over thirty other Dao Masters.

(The story will conclude when the protagonist masters all three thousand Grand Daos.)(End of chapter)
