Chapter 1066: Eerie Truth

Outside the window, a group of people were still chatting. SpongeBob and Patrick wore awkward, apologetic smiles, unsure how to explain their presence. Could they possibly say they were building a septic tank?

"Such insolence?"

The great octopus heard this and turned deathly pale in complete horror. To utter such a phrase just nearby—how audacious! How suicidal! He had even thought that this ancestor of his, who had reached the ninth stage, broken the cursed limits of their Burred Octopus clan, and created an unprecedented path, was an exceptionally clever and monstrous talent!

"I never imagined he was just a fool!!!" The great octopus wailed in despair, feeling utterly disappointed. Cursing loudly, he muttered, "A hick... truly self-righteous. You've never seen true power, never seen a truly high-dimensional civilization, so you assume they don't exist. How primitive... What profound ignorance! Weakness and ignorance are never the original sins of survival; arrogance is!"

He no longer knew what to say. If they had seen the Nine Revolutions Mystic Art, or the entire clan. If they had seen Buddhist and Daoist civilizations, or the Asura Path. If they had seen Emperor Zun, Emperor Qi... all sorts of terrifying sights would have opened their perception to an entirely new world, making them realize their own insignificance. The world he had seen and heard of before was truly an incredibly backward, impoverished, and laughable cosmic world. What is high-dimensional? What is the true center of the universe? These aren't just things to talk about or boast about; only by seeing them can one truly feel that these are worlds of different dimensions.

"You mean that's Renimansga?"

Lius looked out the window of the stone fortress, his eyes becoming unprecedentedly serious and strange.

Burred Lius. That was his name, and he couldn't remember how long it had been since he last used it. Since the surname belonged to his race, he believed he had long since detached himself from it. He was the greatest genius of the Burred clan. He had also lived happily in the Cosmic Garden more than 100,000 years ago, during its heyday, and had once seen the true Renimansga. That being was a truly terrifying and invincible existence. At that time, he was still very weak, so weak that he had only recently been born. He also remembered the entire world and the moment the Cosmic Garden was destroyed, when some unimaginable enemy descended and annihilated it. He personally witnessed blood staining the sky and unimaginable beings falling. As for him, he was sealed within a fossil by his ancient father, with the combined power of his entire clan. Only after tens of thousands of years did he gradually awaken, begin cultivating again, and arrive in this era.

"You might not believe it, but I can only say... the world is more terrifying than you imagine, and the entire universe is even more terrifying, just as you might find the abilities we currently display terrifying and bizarre..." The great octopus was still trying to persuade him, "Did you see that terrifying Buddhist sect? It's just a tiny, insignificant faction here."

"Buddhist sect?"

Lius was utterly alarmed. If previously everything had seemed vague, the Buddhist sect had truly instilled in him an extremely formidable and terrifying sense of dread. Holding a high position, he understood the horror within more than any other inspector. This system was too horrifying, bone-chilling, and almost unstoppable. It would form a massive cataclysm of destructive darkness throughout the universe that no civilization could stop, and infected individuals would be everywhere! If it were to develop, the Fallen Civilization and the Abyssal Blue Divine Domain would be instantly devoured, like a large fish consuming two small ones, unable to even stir a ripple! This was an unprecedented, terrifying, and extraordinary system that sent shivers down one's spine just thinking about it.

"What kind of civilization have you joined," he wondered, utterly terrified, "where even the existence of such a Buddhist sect is merely the tip of their iceberg...? And the civilization you've joined actually needs to be wary of Renimansga...?"

This completely subverted his worldview. Renimansga couldn't possibly be that powerful. But...

"Buddhism is just one part of it. I've joined just one faction of the Buddhist-Daoist path, specifically the Dao..." The great octopus wanted to say more, but suddenly his expression changed.

"They're coming in! Hide quickly, quick!" the great octopus roared. "If you don't want to die, you must know that if you're seen, you'll likely perish in reality, beaten to death instantly... You know what a great transgression it is to acquire the bloodline of this race."

Lius was completely shaken. Having been told to such an extent and with such meticulous detail, as he looked out the window, he too began to feel... alarm and fear. Renimansga, Cosmic Garden... Had he truly lost his memory? Was everything he saw back then false? There was no time to think further, but where to hide? He actually had ample time to leave at first, but now it was already...

"Hide beneath me," the great octopus said, suddenly spreading its soft tentacles in the black wooden tub, making space. Lius hesitated for a moment, listening to the sounds outside, then gritted his teeth and plunged in, endless foul odor and pus filling his orifices.

"What are you doing in here? It stinks too much!"

The door opened, and Shiji looked around the stone house. "Is this a double-partitioned door? And the inside is waterproof?" As she stepped through the door, she saw the great octopus, reeking of decay and covered in black rot, soaking in a large wooden tub, its eight tentacles writhing enchantingly, looking utterly comfortable as if taking a bath.

"Ugh." The creatures nearby, including Midola, instantly gagged and vomited—a physiological reflex which showed the horrifying extent of the creature's stench.

"A different kind of unspeakable horror," Naisera said, also shocked. "Truly the decay of a convergent lifeform, an evolved lifeform; whoever approaches it will rot." It was a massive toxic zone.

"It stinks," Shiji said, shocked. "And also, just consider us passing by. My father, sister, and I are just touring around this time. Our lineage doesn't wish to interfere in your civilizations' war... Just treat us as observers."

"Yes, yes," the two players said, bowing and nodding towards Renimansga. "What do you think? Our superiors aren't here, so we couldn't properly entertain you."

"Just pretend I'm not here," the voice said calmly.

"I didn't expect it either; this whole thing happened because of my sister. Something called the 'Court of Annihilation' probably appeared; remember not to reveal it," Shiji said with a serious expression. "I'm just here to practice our lineage's quantum martial arts and travel around; we don't care what you do."

Nearby, Midola and Vina, the two enlightened women, were very shocked. What was this exactly? Could it be some grand entity touring around? The information revealed here was too terrifying. Had they done something that caused the entire Court of Annihilation to restart? They trembled all over; it was too dreadful.

*Splish-splash.* Hidden in the wooden tub, Lius secretly peeked out with one eye. Before, he had thought this small iron figure was ordinary, but upon closer inspection now, he realized it was actually a lifeform from the Iron-Base race. The Iron-Base lineage actually had new descendants? Also, quantum martial arts? When did the Iron-Base race acquire such a unique cultivation method? Was it always a hidden trump card, never revealed before? Seeing this, he trembled all over, curling up even more tightly in the wooden tub, as if terrified of being discovered.

"Could it be that everything is true? Renimansga... I personally witnessed him being killed back then, and yet he's secretly still alive, and so powerful?"
