Urban Reality
Upon hearing this, everyone became instantly hyped, their emotions running high.“Yes, we must force the opponent to break through,” they urged.“If they don't break through to the Tenth Stage, we won't be able to seize their Grand Dao! It would be meaningless.”“Exactly,” another chimed in, “entice them to break through, and then directly strike them down.”
Although the players were excited and clamored fiercely, truthfully, they still felt a deep uncertainty. After all, Meng Mei's combat power seemed strong, capable of killing a weak Tenth-Stage being, but it wasn't a crippling blow to either side's numbers. How could the enemy not have trump cards? What about some weak Tenth-Stage beings without truly powerful bloodlines? The enemy still had trump cards, while they had none left. From now on, they could only leave it to fate.
“It seems we can only go this far! We still need to truly walk the Ninth Stage path to have a chance at fighting. Our average level still lags behind the top combat powers.”“Ermin has already broken through to the Ninth Stage, but is currently useless. The battle is for weak Tenth-Stage beings, a whole tier above! Among us, the strongest below Meng Mei is probably the Muscle Girl from the Martial God Palace, a combat-oriented expert, but she's still climbing the Ninth Stage path – it’s too difficult! What do you all think?”“Thanks for the invite. I'm in the universe, just descended from the starry sky. After all, our Earth civilization is still primitive; it's only been less than a year since the revival of the Huaxia system. We can only fight against weak Tenth-Stage beings in the entire galaxy.”“Everyone! Even though we're defeated, it's still an honor. Look at those great supreme beings in the universe, chanting magic lines one by one on the battlefield, fighting. We can only hide under our covers and laugh like pigs!”
Other players were completely flustered. Weren't they supposed to be reflecting? How did the conversation suddenly shift, turning into a cosmic forum? This matter concerned the fate of an entire civilization, unprecedented in scope. Could a bunch of show-offs be a little more serious? But they also expressed that they couldn't be serious. “You fight your battles, we can't help, so we can only chat idly and comment on the forum, since everyone's a keyboard warrior anyway.”
Among the cosmic stars, across the entire ocean of stars, the boundless universe, a being stood high above, overlooking the entire battlefield.
Stone Man Disc, called by the three Abyssal Blue Heavenly Venerates as the most powerful and invincible man in the history of this cosmic river. If the Abyssal Blue God Domain was considered one of the most powerful civilizations in the history of this ancient land, then the strength of Stone Man Disc within the Abyssal Blue God Domain surpassed all ancient powerhouses found in civilizational relics. In the eyes of the three Heavenly Venerates, he was invincible back then.
Stone Man Disc slowly pushed a baby carriage, gazing at the battlefield with a gentle smile. “What a peculiar civilization,” he murmured.
Below, amidst the battles of countless weak Tenth-Stage beings, powerful lines began to be chanted.A being with flames burning in their hand slowly pushed forward, chanting, “Accept the truth! You are a magical girl. Go and meet your destiny, fight against Walpurgisnacht!”Across from them, another being waved their fist, proclaiming loudly, “Magical girls gain light, witches endure darkness. Where there is light, darkness exists. Since you have obtained light, it means you must endure the darkness within it!”Each being exchanged blows, each being roared. They feared the evil witch would come seeking them. If such words could circumvent the negative entities formed by chaotic, dark emotions, it was no burden for them at all.
“What is this?” The infant in the cradle, as if waking from a sweet nap, slowly opened its eyes, looking at the battlefield below. A soft, childlike murmur came forth: “Such a massive battle… is the final moment approaching?”
“Do the cultivators of a million years from now actually enjoy excitedly chanting these passionate lines and moves during battle in this era?” The infant was somewhat bewildered, its adorable baby face etched with confusion. These great cultivators, who had surpassed cosmic laws and even begun to coalesce their own Grand Dao, still appeared so... young and fervent, calling out their moves during battle? “Am I out of touch with the times?”
“Do you see that being entirely formed of black mist? It’s a very interesting civilization, a civilization system based on the power of thought and emotion. They are doing this to evade some evil entity,” Stone Man Disc said. He appeared as a tall, strong bald man, yet he carried a pure smile utterly unsuited to his physique.
“Oh? Some kind of sinister civilization system? No wonder. After all, the universe is too vast and boundless; there are always evil combat methods we cannot comprehend. A slight misstep could lead to death.” The infant chuckled in the rocking chair, seemingly beginning to understand why such words were being chanted. It was to evade the gaze of some evil thought-based entities. “I can understand them now,” the infant chuckled.
“Then why can’t you understand me?” Stone Man Disc softly asked.
“Because you are incomprehensible.” The infant stared at him and said, “Stone Man Disc, your so-called compassion has betrayed everyone's expectations. They have always followed that great man, the strongest hero in the spotlight, the strongest King of Time with the ability to foresee the future, yet you chose to disappoint them.”
Below was a vast, bloody battlefield, where countless beings fought desperately, writing the tragic epics of their civilizations. This was the final battle of destiny. It would determine whether their efforts of over a hundred thousand years had been in vain.
“I did not betray them. Living in a false dream is better than living in a cruel reality,” Stone Man Disc gently rocked the baby carriage with both hands, standing on a planet that had been cut in half. “A dream with hope is always better than despair.”
It was a floating platform in the shape of a planetary semicircle, with scorching stellar core magma within, gleaming golden like a giant circular magma pool.
Stone Man Disc said softly, “I told you, I would not fail those who followed me... A million years ago, when cultivators were scattered and few, I passed by an ancient ruin-planet and saw several contemporary cultivators weeping and shedding tears in the ancient ruins, lamenting the hundred thousand years of darkness. I became silent at the curse of the universe. Years later, I founded the Fallen Civilization, to find a home for them, a Dao Palace where they could gather, reside, and comfort each other... I gave them hope to live.”
No one knew this was the original intent behind establishing the Fallen Civilization: to give hope to failed Ninth-Stage cultivators... naive and idealistic, simply to provide a home to rely on, promising them hope for the future. Although today’s Fallen Civilization has forgotten its original purpose, and is somewhat heading towards decay.
“No, you have already betrayed them,” the infant stated coldly.
Stone Man Disc shook his head, his voice calm and undeniable: “You are my younger brother. At our level, we have long since condensed our own Grand Dao, fused with it, and are subtly connected to the laws of the entire universe. Our minds have long been clear. Through the laws we command, we can even sense a hazy future... It's not just you who has calculated the future…”
Stone Man Disc smiled softly, “You should know more clearly than anyone that we will soon all be killed by that supreme being. That is an unyielding destiny. Countless ages ago, I already saw a glimpse of the future.”
“Yes, the final moment has finally arrived. But I don't know why this battle between the two civilizations has been advanced by over a hundred thousand years. You clearly know you will die immediately, yet you're still letting nature take its course? Aren’t you leaving any contingencies to prepare?” The infant clearly knew that the so-called contingency, the three Abyssal Blue Heavenly Venerates, was utterly laughable. Waiting for them to break through? And then seizing their Grand Dao to confront that supreme being? It was always a joke. Their bloodlines were similar, all primarily based on their native Abyssal Blue bloodline, condensing time-related laws, and thus their Grand Dao were similar. Even if they seized the Grand Dao bloodlines of their own kind, it would only be three similar bloodlines, effectively mastering only one type of law. How could they possibly contend?
It seemed like a plan, an act of resistance. Stone Man Disc was using the three Heavenly Venerates to resist, letting them break through, then seizing and merging their Grand Dao bloodlines to face the supreme being. But this was nothing more than a joke! He was merely conforming to his own future, accepting a history already doomed to fail, following that dead end, walking the path already laid out.
“You should know, destiny has long been set.” Stone Man Disc, the tall and robust bald man, stood with his hands behind his back, gazing into the distance at the battlefield below. This unparalleled overlord whispered, “I have seen my fated death, and I neither wish to defy it nor have any hope of escaping it.”
The infant in the baby carriage fell silent. He understood Stone Man Disc’s actions. This tall, powerful man, hailed as the strongest in the history of the entire starry sky, possessed immense charisma, a forthright man who had never betrayed any comrade – truly a great being of law worthy of the title “hero” – yet even he felt powerless. This revealed the depth of the dark despair and suffering.
He further understood why Stone Man Disc chose to embrace such a destiny. Because Stone Man Disc knew what would happen after this very battle... Since Stone Man Disc had seen the grand trends of the future, he knew best that after his decisive battle with the three Heavenly Venerates, they would all be compelled to break through to the final realm. He would kill the three Heavenly Venerates, then rise up amidst the cheers of the entire Fallen Civilization. This man, the strongest under the starry sky, would use his roar to write the hymn of civilization, challenging that being under the starry sky. After he was killed by that ancient entity, the being who had transcended dimensions would then fully complete five Grand Dao bloodlines. At this point, perfection would be achieved. That being would no longer need to kill other entities. It would then begin to permit breakthroughs to the Tenth Stage and start recruiting Tenth-Stage subordinates. At that time, the entire massive galactic cluster would usher in an unprecedented era of extraordinary prosperity, allowing for the appearance of a second Tenth Stage being. Concurrently, an age of ultimate transcendent peace, where everyone had a chance to achieve ultimate power, a peaceful, prosperous cosmic nebula dynasty, would descend and last for a very long time.
And what Stone Man Disc desired was such a bright future: that later generations would no longer suffer the despair he endured, and that those fallen cultivators would truly gain hope.
