By: A Three-Hundred-Jin Smile
This was the true entry into the world of the Tenth-Tier.
Standing at the pinnacle of the universe, this place contained its most profound mysteries, its most ancient ruins, and unimaginable, primordial cosmic powerhouses from all corners of existence, all converging here. Naturally, one had to be extremely cautious.
“Although this area appears to lack major figures and seems remote—after all, the chaotic outer membrane of the universe is still vast and boundless—it’s always wise to proceed with caution.”
Xu Zhi took a deep breath. He knew this land was the universe's apex, fearing that hidden races here might possess civilizations no less powerful than the Zerg.
To be honest, Xu Zhi increasingly realized that the Zerg’s protective shield was the true core.
Without the Zerg’s protective shield, which blocked unseen prying eyes, he would have died countless times over by now.
However, it was clear that this was central to a civilization’s security. Perhaps other hidden, mysterious civilizations, no less powerful than the Zerg, also possessed similar methods.
“They are almost impossible to detect…”
Xu Zhi murmured, “This is also a dark forest. We are all hidden hunters, concealed within the void, waiting to see who exposes themselves, reveals a weakness, and allows their tracks to be found…”
Whoosh.
The group soared onward.
As they neared their destination, they spotted ultimate Tenth-Tier beings walking upon the land. These Tenth-Tier beings, however, seemed oblivious to Xu Zhi’s group, ignoring them as they continued their journey. After some time, an ultimate Daoist appeared before them, shrouded in mist, resembling a hurricane.
“What a coincidence, it’s that Daoist from Suifeng City.”
Medusa smiled. “It’s said he attained the Dao of Fengshui, the fluidity of wind and water. This Daoist stands outside the cosmic chaos, acting as a Celestial Saint. All waterfalls, rivers, and seas in the universes below are under his jurisdiction.”
“Two Great Dao bloodlines?” Xu Zhi chuckled, saying nothing more, and looked at the Quantum Four Grandmasters. “Who among you will approach him? Consider it your tempering; it has officially begun.”
Only Mister You showed interest in communication, so he stepped forward.
Whoosh.
“Friend, what are you doing in this land?” A light projection appeared before the ultimate Tenth-Tier being.
Suifeng was slightly startled. He narrowed his eyes, looked at the ultimate Tenth-Tier being who had appeared inexplicably before him, and immediately chuckled, “Of course, we are here to hunt down the Nine-Headed Ancient Mother… I presume you are here for the same reason.”
“Speaking of the Nine-Headed Ancient Mother, she’s an ancient powerhouse from our region, a peerless celestial maiden who ruled a vast territory. We were once so suppressed by her that we dared not leave our Daoist Temples, only daring to breathe within them. But it’s said she encountered an unimaginably formidable demon in the lower realms. He shattered her shortly after breaking through, leaving her gravely wounded and near death, having exhausted all her life-saving methods…”
“So, we came to exact our revenge.”
Suifeng appeared to be a humble and gentle elemental life-form, calmly explaining, yet inwardly he mused:
“An ultimate Tenth-Tier being with one Great Dao bloodline—how dare he appear before me? Is he not afraid I’ll kill him and seize his Great Dao bloodline? Could it be that his Great Dao bloodline is incredibly strong, confident in its ability to fight above its rank?”
Mister You, however, asked, “If all the Tenth-Tier beings here are encircling and suppressing the Nine-Headed Ancient Mother, patrolling everywhere, can she still escape?”
Suifeng couldn’t help but shake his head. “The Nine-Headed Ancient Mother possesses a spatial bloodline; she is very powerful. Her Daoist Temple is a long skirt, very unique, which she can carry with her… We, however, cannot carry our Daoist Temples. She fights while carrying her Daoist Temple, and for a time, no one can do anything to her as she roams freely.”
These Daoist Temples are like bubbles rooted in the great cosmic wall, serving as their sanctuaries, making them difficult to carry.
Yet, the Nine-Headed Ancient Mother can carry her Daoist Temple at any time, bringing her ‘home’ into battle. Leveraging the power of her Daoist Temple, no one is her match! It’s incredibly terrifying!
“Since she can carry her Daoist Temple, isn’t her combat strength exceptionally high? She must have brought her Daoist Temple to the lower realms, so how could a being from a mortal universe defeat her to such an extent?” Mister You asked, his face serious.
Suifeng stared at the other party earnestly for a moment, unsure if he was truly foolish or feigning ignorance. He then let out a chuckle and continued, “It seems, friend, that you are a peerless figure who has just attained the Dao and ascended… I’m afraid your Daoist Temple hasn’t even been established yet. It’s understandable that you wouldn’t know, but these Daoist Temples have little use within the universe itself.”
“Oh?”
“We reside on the outer membrane of the cosmic chaos to slow down the universe’s assimilation of us… But outside the universe, rules are sparse, and the Great Dao is chaotic. We can only exert less than one percent of our strength. This is the price we pay; our ability to move mountains and fill seas is greatly reduced.”
Daoist Suifeng smiled, “However, there is a way for us to possess the powerful combat strength we have within the universe, even when outside of it.”
“Is it a Daoist Temple?”
“Precisely.”
Suifeng’s expression turned solemn. “A Daoist Temple is like a bubble rooted in the cosmic wall, continuously drawing in Great Dao rules from within the universe. Within our own Daoist Temple, we can be as powerful as we are inside the universe.”
Daoist Temples exist so that Saints like them can exert their full power in the chaos.
“Take my Suifeng Daoist Temple, for instance. It’s rooted in the cosmic membrane, constantly absorbing the universe’s wind-type laws… Within it, I can exert my full power and act as a Saint, governing these specific rules across the entire universe… A Daoist Temple is our domain of operation!”
“As for others, if they enter my Suifeng Daoist Temple and lack the rules they cultivate, their strength will remain as it is outside. But I, as a complete Saint, will ensure they enter and never return! Unless one’s power is absolutely overwhelming, no one dares to forcefully intrude upon another’s Daoist Temple.”
It was precisely for this reason that beings with one or two Great Dao bloodlines, as well as other weaker ultimate Tenth-Tier beings, were not ambushed and killed by other powerful ultimate beings.
“Even a being with one Great Dao bloodline, if hidden within their Daoist Temple, would be extremely difficult for others to deal with.”
Suifeng looked at Mister You, speaking with righteous sincerity, “But friend, if you lack formidable strength and do not hide within a Daoist Temple, venturing out here is extremely risky. For your safety, I believe it’s essential to test your strength. If you are not strong enough, there’s no need to wade into these troubled waters; I will escort you back to your Daoist Temple to avoid attacks from malicious individuals.”
Suifeng stepped forward, his aura surging, and said with immense pity, “Friend, I am doing this for your own good.”
The Nine-Headed Ancient Mother’s bloodline was truly astonishing. If one could obtain her Great Dao spatial bloodline, their strength would multiply, instantly gaining her combat power and becoming one of the invincible overlords of this land, perhaps even beginning to carry their Daoist Temple as they roamed. How could they not be tempted?
They craved to possess the other’s heaven-defying bloodline and replace them!
However, this place was teeming with powerhouses, and Suifeng didn’t believe he could necessarily seize it. But if the current situation presented an unexpected boon…
“So that’s how it is.”
Mister You shook his head. “I treat you with sincerity, yet you wish to spar with me… I don’t like sparring, nor am I keen on fighting; I only enjoy communication. If you desire battle, let someone else accompany you.”
“Who among you will step forward?” Mister You looked into the distance.
“I will,”
the Martial Arts Alliance Leader laughed heartily. “I hate you three old sly foxes the most: one can’t be hit, one is boring to fight, and one still wants to learn my fists.”
“You go ahead; I dislike sparring.” The Demon Lord looked at the other party, saying nothing, studying their psychological flaws and wondering if a Dao ultimate being could have a “demon seed” planted in their Dao heart.
“You go ahead; I, too, dislike sparring,” Zhou Meng said, looking at the other party without speaking, preparing to study their cultivation technique.
Whoosh.
“A bunch of overly cautious people. I hate thinking with their kind of mind.”
The man in the white cape of the Martial Arts Alliance Leader walked forward step by step. “I don’t know how many of my punches he can withstand, but I hope he can last a bit longer!”
Suifeng was slightly startled, his expression grave. “As expected, he’s not simple. The aura is the same; I fear it’s a personality split from the same being. Although it’s a single bloodline, I don’t know what kind it is. If it’s too heaven-defying, it could be tricky.”
The battle erupted instantly.
The opponent commanded fluid power, and their methods were extremely bizarre.
But under the Martial Arts Alliance Leader’s fists, which swung wildly, with ‘bang, bang, bang’ sounds, the quantum force had stacked up to billions of layers, like a tide of ten billion waves crashing down simultaneously.
“What is this?” Suifeng cried out in alarm.
The opponent’s fists seemed indestructible, their terrifying force sweeping aside everything, overwhelming all opposition.
Yet, his own strikes against the opponent were like a clay ox entering the sea, dissolving into nothingness, shattered by countless layers of force and heavily diminished.
He was simply an annoyingly tenacious opponent.
“It’s power; a being who attained Dao through strength!” His expression was extremely solemn, feeling an urge to turn and flee.
Power, like the rules of space and time, belongs to the most core set of laws. The four fundamental forces form the framework of the universe.
The Vortex of Pampas was also a type of power law, thus its destructive force was immense. The quantum force before him was also a core branch of the power law, naturally incredibly fearsome. However, quantum force was a subtle power, not brute force used openly; it required exceptionally refined skill to wield.
Punch after punch.
The Martial Arts Alliance Leader’s fists were publicly acknowledged as the strongest in the quantum martial arts world. Others dared not fight him, which was how he became the Alliance Leader. Even Emperor Qi had been beaten to tears by him, demonstrating how terrifying he was!
After a few punches, Grand Ancestor Suifeng was actually exploded alive several times. He couldn’t help but cry out, “Stop! I acknowledge your strength. You are excellent and possess a status equal to ours. We recognize your right to reside in this land.”
The Martial Arts Alliance Leader continued to swing his fists.
Grand Ancestor Suifeng was utterly dumbfounded.
“Where did this blockhead come from? A battle maniac?
You can’t kill me, yet you’re still desperately eager to fight? Insatiable?”
Terrified, he dared not stay and simply turned and ran.
“Hmph, what a coward, running after only a few seconds of fighting,” the Martial Arts Alliance Leader sneered slightly in anger, chasing after the opponent to continue blasting him.
However, after chasing for some time, the opponent ran farther and farther, vanishing without a trace.
Medusa shook her head as she watched. “Although the Martial Arts Alliance Leader is powerful, he is only one-quarter of a whole. If these ancient beings of such a level truly wanted to fight, their combat strength would surely be heaven-defying. It’s not necessarily that he couldn’t defeat them, but rather that they simply won’t engage him… It seems battles are rare in this land.”
Xu Zhi nodded, also understanding the situation here.
When strengths were not significantly different, battles rarely occurred.
Because they were incredibly intelligent and clear-minded, these ultimate Daoists were simply too difficult to kill!
Everyone possessed tenacious vitality. If someone found themselves at a disadvantage, they wouldn’t fight you; even if pursued, they would simply flee back to their Daoist Temple, leaving you with no way to deal with them.
Little Shiji also clearly understood. “No wonder this land is so harmonious… No, it’s the entire outer chaos that is so harmonious…”
Medusa chuckled. “In the territory around their Daoist Temples, they are naturally fearless, unless they encounter an unimaginably powerful opponent who can instantly kill them, leaving no chance to escape… However, it’s clear that this dynamic also leads to a specific characteristic.”
“What characteristic?” Shiji asked.
“Powerful beings become localized! They rarely leave the territories they rule or stray far from their Daoist Temples,” Medusa explained. “Because once they move away from their Daoist Temples, they risk being killed, unable to return or find sanctuary. They would be endlessly pursued and eventually ground down… Therefore, in this outer chaos, everyone has their own territory, and mobility is very low.”
It wasn’t that Daoist Temples couldn’t be moved, but it was exceptionally troublesome.
They couldn’t be instantly packed up and relocated. Without the Daoist Temple’s protection, it was too dangerous, so they could only be shifted little by little, like a crawling snail.
Thus, the ultimate Tenth-Tier beings in this world were generally fixed and insular.
Few ultimate Tenth-Tier beings moved around from outside.
However, those who did were invariably formidable individuals. If they dared to abandon their Daoist Temple and travel far, they certainly had powerful backing.
“And the ultimate beings who come to this land are very difficult to kill… No wonder they act against beings from the lower realms,” Medusa chuckled. “Beings from the lower realms lack Daoist Temples, making them the best targets for elimination… Even Daoist Suifeng, whom we just encountered, likely obtained his second Great Dao bloodline by killing a being from the lower realms.”
This was likely the norm: many ultimate Daoists controlled a territory, constantly watching, and once a being broke through, they would descend and kill them directly.
“Hmph, only knowing how to bully the weak,” Shiji said, clearly disapproving.
Medusa shook her head again. “They aren’t weak, you know. If their strength wasn’t heaven-defying, how could they descend and kill a Great Dao bloodline being of the same realm? This Suifeng is confident in killing those of his peer! However, his opponents have Daoist Temples to rely on and can escape… He can only kill newly broken-through Tenth-Tier beings from the lower realms, who lack the protection of a Daoist Temple.”
Shiji thought about it and found it made sense.
“This Suifeng has quite a formidable reliance; being close to his Daoist Temple makes him fearless.”
The Martial Arts Alliance Leader snorted coldly, caring little for such considerations. Regardless of any trump cards, cowering without even fighting was shameful. “These ultimate Daoists here are all cowards who retreat at the slightest touch, unwilling to engage you in a true fight… They’re utterly timid, terrified of getting injured and dying before they even have a chance to return to their Daoist Temple! They don’t understand the romance of men fighting to the death!”
