Chapter 1240: Cosmic Beach, Chaotic Cambrian, Life Explosion!

Undeniably, this was an entirely new path. Even after more than ten billion years of development, no one in the entire universe had ever seen this path, let alone witnessed such an astonishing and inconceivable sight.

“This is a new era; everything must be pioneered by me, starting from scratch.” Xu Zhi looked at Nu Yi and the others. They were invaluable human resources, core members of the Zerg’s leadership.

“What exactly will happen?” He stood in the distance, observing this evolution. “What I want to see are cosmic laws unlike any before!”

On the other side, Nu Yi and the others also had extremely excited expressions. They stood side by side, staring intently at the entire experimental sandbox before them, their faces tense.

“Life has begun! Our experiment!” Nu Yi’s voice carried a hint of excitement. This was an unprecedented moment.

“Cosmic life forms!” Meng Mei’s voice was also highly agitated. “The evolutionary laws of cosmic life, the true meaning of the Great Dao, are about to unfold before us.”

Knowledge is power. And the knowledge they were about to acquire would be unprecedented! Everyone, like devout scientists and seekers of truth, turned their gaze towards the experimental site, peering through the transparent glass dome. This was a historic moment.

Whoosh—

The chaotic sea, with its tidal winds, exuded an aura of desolation and bloodiness. Since these were simulated miniature universes, each no larger than a marble to a grain of rice, the entire landscape of mountains and plains within the experimental site was extremely tiny.

However, the experimental land was not empty. Vast numbers of universes spawned and proliferated wildly. They were bizarrely shaped, most of them stillborn universes that had just barely begun to form life before dying. Their corpses piled up on the ground, resembling sand and rocks, or soil, forming this world imbued with ancient vastness. Their remains formed a beach of countless rough grains of sand and black and white stones of varying sizes; each stone and grain of sand was composed of a stillborn universe. Universes, their bones like mountains. This scene was truly spectacular and fantastical.

At the edge of this beach lay the undulating, rippling chaotic sea. Countless universes bobbed and sank within it, or, transforming into primordial gods and demons, exploded forth, emerging from the chaotic sea with wet mucus and bodies like bloody, sinewy lumps of flesh, slowly wriggling onto the beach.

However, most that made it onto the beach died prematurely, becoming part of the beach's remains, stillborn universes that gradually stiffened and solidified. Universes emerged from the chaotic sea one after another, like moths drawn to a flame, moving towards the beach.

“The ocean is the mother that nurtures all life.” Nu Yi chuckled, “It seems to apply even to these ‘universes’ here. The chaotic rules of the chaotic sea allow them to bob, sink, and soak within it, as if returning to a mother’s embrace, giving birth to life.”

“It’s very cruel. Some climbed ashore but quickly died, their stillborn forms piling up like mountains. Others chose not to emerge but died anyway, their remains also accumulating at the bottom of the chaotic sea.”

Meng Mei’s expression was solemn as she looked at the experimental site. “We’ve already sensed the complete birth of the first generation of life. The target life form has stabilized and survived for three hours, but it’s still swimming freely at the bottom of the chaotic sea and hasn't come ashore.”

Nu Yi also had a somber expression, peering through the glass dome at the experimental site. “It hasn’t shown itself. Could it be a creature from the chaotic ocean—a sea-fish-like or seaweed-like universe?”

Meng Mei’s eyelids twitched. “Fish? Seaweed? Is that even possible? These are universes!”

Nu Yi shook her head. Meng Mei’s thoughts were bound by rules, but Nu Yi’s were not. As a primordial god-demon who created heaven and earth, she had, in fact, created some of the cosmic rules herself. “What if they are universes? We’ve never seen this path before! We only need to listen and observe! Even the most bizarre phenomena wouldn’t be considered strange. Besides, they are no longer inanimate objects. Since they are life forms, then living beings inherently have a preference for certain environments!”

“Plants like sunlight, seaweed likes the ocean—these are all natural inclinations of living beings. As universes, they too have environments they prefer. Is there anything wrong with that?” Nu Yi’s expression was calm.

Meng Mei was momentarily stunned, then felt enlightened. As the two quietly conversed through the glass window, they witnessed one universe survive, then decline, followed by others repeatedly crawling out of the chaotic sea and collapsing onto the beach. Yet, from beginning to end, the protagonist they wanted to see never appeared. Still, they remained very patient.

“As long as it’s alive, it will surely emerge,” Nu Yi said, looking into the glass dome, her demeanor entirely resolute and decisive, embodying the sternness of a great saint who commanded the plan for the genesis of a multiverse, a titan who created an era.

Splash.

The figure of the Creator God gently descended upon this land. All of them bowed, paying their respectful greetings. Xu Zhi's eyes swept over them. Others couldn't see it, but he naturally saw the newly born seaweed-like universe still bobbing at the bottom of the sea with no intention of coming ashore. He merely looked at the experimental site and smiled, “It seems your Genesis is becoming very logical, producing unimaginable scenes.”

“Everything is within Your Divine Power, Creator God.” Nu Yi quickly said, “It is your Genesis that brought all of this into being.”

The Creator God, however, merely shook his head. “It’s different. You have reached a height I have never known. I am nature, the cosmos, a celestial phenomenon without self. The creation of eras and the destruction of epochs, the explosion and collapse of universes, are merely natural phenomena, akin to thunderstorms or heavy rain—naturally emerging and naturally dissipating. But you, as beings within the universe, as the 'worms of heaven and earth,' as the unique variable of wisdom in the cosmos, have pioneered an unimaginable Genesis.”

Nu Yi pondered this deeply. The universe itself is inherently natural; the Big Bang that created it has always followed its own course. But their birth added their wisdom and color to nature—this is the role of beings within a universe. Just like beings on Earth use their knowledge and wisdom to alter weather phenomena, such as creating artificial rain.

Looking at the Creator God, so humble and self-aware, Meng Mei’s admiration intensified. She felt utterly captivated by such a Creator God. Xu Zhi didn't look at the dazed Meng Mei; he suddenly felt that Meng Mei, like Caroline, had become a fan girl, thinking everything the ancient deity did was impressive.

“What are your thoughts, Your Highness?” Nu Yi asked.

The Creator God looked at the experimental site and said with a smile, “This is a sight unprecedented in any universe, ancient or modern! Perhaps you will see concepts only the Creator God can understand, the highest-dimensional knowledge only comprehensible to the cosmos itself.”

Knowledge comprehensible only to the Creator God... And we, mere living beings, can actually access this level of ultimate knowledge? Their minds were deeply shaken, and they felt overwhelmed with surprise, following his gaze.

Splash.

The next second, they saw a vibrant red, sinewy seaweed-like entity slowly emerge to the surface, then silently sink back down. “It appeared!” Nu Yi exclaimed. But it was merely a fleeting glimpse; the seaweed-like universe silently submerged again.

Yet, they remained patient, continuing to wait. After a long time, through repeated cycles of birth and death, no other universe fully survived. The pile of stillborn universes grew, and the beach expanded. During this time, the seaweed-like universe bobbed and sank countless times. Other universes continually perished; only it lived on eternally. But the next scene completely shocked everyone present. They clearly witnessed an unbelievable sight: Other universes actually began to gradually explode, slowly transforming into templates of the seaweed-like universe, evolving towards that sole surviving universe.

“What is this? How is this possible?!” Meng Mei’s eyes widened. “Those stillborn universes have no intelligence; how could they possibly know what they want?” The situation was too bizarre.

“It’s not their initiative. Rather, the surviving seaweed-like universe, as it wandered around and had existed for a long time, its DNA sequences had scattered outwards and were sensed, absorbed, and assimilated by other universes.” Nu Yi’s eyes gleamed with excitement.

Meng Mei instantly realized, “The DNA sequences of universes are their Great Dao blueprints! After all, we transformed their Great Dao blueprints into something analogous to life structures. And this universe’s Great Dao blueprint was actually absorbed by other universes, causing them to explode and develop similar structures…” As she thought of this, she was utterly shocked.

As a prominent figure in the evolution of life on Earth, she naturally understood that during biological evolution, some organisms’ gene sequences could be absorbed by others. Take viruses, for example. Many gene sequences of some viruses are not originally their own but come from external viral sequences, acquired through assimilation.

“Oh my heavens!” Meng Mei gasped, her heart filled with shock: “I’ve practically witnessed the inevitable progression of a universe! Just like the evolutionary history of life on Earth, life is beginning in the chaotic sea. In the future, there might even be a multitude of seaweed-like universes! They are like Earth’s Cambrian explosion—seaweed, blue-green algae, rapidly proliferating within the ocean. Soon, will marine reptiles appear? Vertebrates?”
