Chapter 1307: Feeding All Humanity

Chapter 1314

Marine creatures were evolving at an astonishing rate, far beyond the normal pace of life. They were transitioning from the ocean to land, gradually becoming amphibians or terrestrial creatures.

"They are too enormous!""Immensely vast. If the universe were a continent, they would be creatures on that continent, scaled proportionally to its size!"

The Sages began to panic and slaughtered them. Along the coastline, all the colossal marine creatures that climbed ashore, including massive conches, shells, and even seaweed, were massacred. Simultaneously, the Sages began studying the corpses of these immense marine organisms, which were measured in light-years.

These creatures were merely biological beings, not the "life universes" from the "Myriad Worlds" outside. They hadn't attained foundational principles (Dao), nor did they possess bloodlines. Yet, they wielded a peculiar divine power, capable of borrowing the rules of heaven and earth. Despite their weakness, these marine creatures, constantly slain by the Sages as they came ashore, were utterly incapable of resisting. Still, their presence caused unease.

"How is this possible! How is this possible? All living beings have bloodlines. How could these creatures not have them?""Bloodlines are, in essence, the concretization of rules. Even common stones possess rules, which is why, upon gaining sentience, they too acquire bloodlines and the potential to attain the Dao by utilizing the rules contained within them. But how could these creatures...!"

Creatures without bloodlines were truly terrifying.

At this moment, the recently emerged Longevity Dao Palace was also completely shaken. Elder Zhi, who had already decayed, looked at the nine still-young geniuses around him, asking, "How do you view this?"

These nine geniuses were still in their prime. In their perception, it felt as if they had just, a moment ago, been battling fiercely at the peak of their cultivation, their vigor and spirit having reached their absolute highest point.

They quickly began their deductions. Xu Zhi, Nv Yi, Emperor Qi, and others also watched their calculations.

No one could complete the deductions in a short time. These geniuses of their era, the Longevity Sages of the Longevity Dao Palace, were the strongest Sages in their prime. Their wisdom and abilities had reached the absolute peak of the current era. No one else could compare to them.

Under everyone's covert observation, these nine young Sages began their deductions. First, they summarized the peculiar points:

"They have no bloodlines. How can they not have bloodlines? Creatures born from the Chaos Sea, yet they lack bloodlines? How do they cultivate then? Do they have a special system?""If they are the new masters of the Chaos Sea era, will we be eliminated?""Currently, they are still evolving, low-level creatures amidst a species explosion! Although they are weak enough to be easily killed and the coastline cleared, what about the future? If they possess a cultivation system, we will certainly be in danger!""This size, this energy level! It can only appear beyond the reaches of chaos! Within the universe, such gigantic creatures are absolutely impossible!"

They clearly understood that these beings were constantly being born in the Chaos Sea, and there was no way to destroy their origin of life. They were an unending source of new life, continuously growing.

The Sages of the Longevity Dao Palace began their research. Another millennium passed.

These coastal creatures continuously climbed ashore. They seemed to have formed populations, and even amphibious creatures had appeared. Their presence terrified the ordinary Sages of the era, as their continuous slaying of these creatures paradoxically caused them to evolve, developing greater adaptability and becoming stronger.

"They are adapting to us.""We, on the contrary, have become a driving force for their biological evolution."

The ordinary Sages continuously retreated from the coastline, moving inland into the continents, feeling an increasing sense of dread. Could anything be more bizarre than their "oceanic waste," discarded over generations, transforming into living beings that gradually climbed ashore to counterattack the Sages' world?

After some time, the nine Sages finally deduced a terrifying glimpse of the future.

"They have no bloodlines because the essence of bloodlines is cosmic rules. When the universe enters the Age of Dharma Decline, and cosmic rules become completely mature and perfected, there will be no 'rules' as we know them, and naturally, no bloodlines."

"After all, the absence of 'rules' is a characteristic of the Age of Dharma Decline!"

"And now, the universe is 80% complete, already nearly devoid of rule-seats; the universe is thoroughly perfected. Therefore, the evolution of these creatures might be bloodline-less for this very reason!"

"How can they have no bloodlines? Our universe is a bloodline universe!"

"No. When the universe's rules are completely perfected, what we call 'rules' will cease to exist in people's eyes. Because it will be flawless, and when it is omnipresent, perfectly mature, incapable of being leveraged or perceived, it will be tantamount to non-existence."

"Then they..."

"They are born sacred. From birth, they possess power almost equivalent to a Ninth-Tier Dao Attainer, or even a Tenth-Tier Sage.""They are very unique."

As they continued their deductions, they grew increasingly alarmed. The cosmic order was undergoing a drastic change, one that made them tremble with fear.

"So, they are also using rules, aren't they?"

"That is because they are born sacred, practically embodying the Dao from birth, as the rules within chaos conceived their lives."

"Then, when the true Age of Dharma Decline arrives and the Tenth-Tier gate closes, if we fall in cultivation, won't they fall too?"

"Yes, they will inevitably fall in cultivation and become mortals like us. But unlike us, they are inherently creatures from beyond the chaos, giants who will live beyond the chaos even if they fall."

"So, will they completely become enormous creatures residing beyond the chaos? Natives of the chaos realm?"

"We don't know. No one can see that far."

"Perhaps, in the future, they will find other cultivation systems within the chaos realm. Once the universe is completely mature, they will be the true protagonists of that mature universe! In their future, will not only the Ninth-Tier and Tenth-Tier, but also the Eleventh-Tier, become commonplace?"

"Unclear."

The ancient beings of the Longevity Dao Palace continued their deductions. They could only perceive fragments, unable to fully discern the future of this race, only speculating on various possibilities.

However, the more they deduced, the more despair they felt.

"So, we are not the protagonists!""The future era opened by the Eleventh-Tier is not for us, these prehistoric beings, but for other creatures! Is there anything more tragic than this?""Sneaking into the future is merely a more terrifying despair, because when we open our eyes, we are already ancient beings destined for extinction, awaiting our ultimate demise."

Time flew by, and the species thoroughly exploded, spreading onto land.

Meanwhile, Elder Zhi of the Longevity Dao Palace fully emerged, using unimaginable power to resist the creatures continuously climbing out of the Chaos Sea, but he found himself increasingly overwhelmed. There were simply too many, and their size was too immense. Even with lower cultivation, the sheer energy level difference in their size, coupled with their endless numbers, was truly terrifying.

Then, one day, a colossal, wet figure emerged from the Chaos Sea, its body spanning unknown light-years, obscuring the sky and sun. It slowly walked out of the sea and found Elder Zhi.

"Little ants, what do you think you are?" the figure asked, possessing immense wisdom, like a great scholar among marine creatures. Elder Zhi even felt the same presence from it as he had from Yi Mang.

"What are we?"Elder Zhi fell silent, then fixed his gaze on the figure with fiery eyes. "We are living beings. We refer to all bloodline creatures who have gained sentience from their spiritual reservoirs as 'humans.' We are the protagonists of the universe."

"Heheheh..."The figure laughed, resembling a strange, wet dolphin, half-human and half-fish, with slimy skin. "Do you know why we gained sentience so quickly, why we understand your language and your civilization?"

Elder Zhi remained silent.

"Because you cast too many ancient artifacts into the Chaos Sea. I learned from them. I know much more history than you and see more clearly than you."

The figure murmured, as if to itself, "When I gained sentience, I began to wonder: Who am I? What is the meaning of my existence in this world? Why did we appear?""Later, I understood."

He suddenly grew thoughtful, turning his head to look at the clear blue Chaos Sea. "Because I saw the entire developmental history of the universe; it is a history of evolution."

Elder Zhi still did not speak, his gaze fixed intently on him.

"Indeed, the developmental history of the universe is a history of continuous maturation and perfection..."

"Why, then, do you stubbornly believe yourselves to be higher life forms? That you, with your bloodlines, are the protagonists of the universe?"

"Have you not realized? Your bloodlines are merely a phased mechanism for the universe's self-perfection. You are like microorganisms within the universe."

He continued, "You are like bacteria or fungi on an ordinary planet, appearing to perfect the natural environment, producing oxygen and carbon dioxide, making the environment flawless, regulating and completing the universe, allowing it to mature. Yet, you, these fungi and bacteria, believe yourselves to be the protagonists of the universe?"

"You have already discovered that, with the completion of the Great Dao, your bloodlines have begun to lose power, unable to utilize rules anymore, because your sole purpose was to complete the universe."

"This is your entire mission as 'humans'."

The figure calmly looked at Elder Zhi, this decayed bloodline overlord from the distant past, and chuckled softly. "But why do you believe yourselves to be the true protagonists? You are merely ancient beings from a backward era of the universe, destined to be eliminated—just as you eliminated the Primeval Gods and Demons, that backward species..."

"Oh, I almost forgot. You, too, were a Primeval God and Demon, who lived a second life, usurping the position and becoming a postnatal human."

The other's voice trailed off.

Elder Zhi's eyes burned with furious defiance as he glared at them. "You are trying to attack me with words."

"Perhaps this is too difficult for you to accept. To us, you are like mere worms beneath the soil of this planet."

The figure slowly retreated into the ocean, its vast, boundless body stepping onto the soft sand, returning to the seawater, gradually submerging, and heading into the depths.

Its voice continued,

"The more advanced a life form, the later it appears in the universe. This is an eternal law."

"Only when cosmic rules are perfected will the true biological protagonists be nurtured. Currently, with 80% completion, we have suitable, temperate conditions to appear. This, too, is a law."

"Just like the so-called Eleventh-Tier, it only emerges with the universe's perfection. A fragmented, immature universe has an extremely low ceiling and cannot accommodate higher realms. It is the same for us beings. Only in a complete universe can we be born. Because previously, the universe's ceiling was extremely low and could not contain us. Your existence was merely to complete the universe, to allow us to be born..."

This sacred sage emerging from the ocean spoke with extreme indifference, as if stating a mere fact.

Elder Zhi closed his eyes, his expression bitter.

"Your mission in existence was merely to nurture us. You are simply our cradle, nothing more."

The figure stepped deeper into the ocean. "Of course, as you say, the Age of Dharma Decline will arrive. You will lose your power and merely gasp for breath within the universe. We, too, will lose our power and live outside the universe. But for us, this is not the end. Your Age of Dharma Decline is our era of burgeoning growth. We are not a bloodline system; we will inevitably adapt to the times and find a cultivation system suited for us."

"We will live in a truly mature universe, possessing the Ninth-Tier, Tenth-Tier, and the new Eleventh-Tier—realms that only appear in a complete universe. And you will completely decay, unable to reach beyond the heavens, becoming mere mortals within the universe, losing your power, with a maximum of only Eighth-Tier Divine Spirit. This is the inevitability of the era."

"Of course..."

"You will not be completely annihilated. As I said, you will live within the universe, beneath the soil of the continents, becoming like insects. Perhaps, when we have nothing to do, we might dig up the soil, find some small clumps of earth, and catch some little worms to eat."

"After all, what you call the universe is, to beings as vast as us, merely nine continents."

His immense figure eventually submerged into the deep sea, dissipating into a shadow.

"You call yourselves humans..."

"Then, this future, where you, tiny worms living on small dirt clods beneath the continents of the nine continents, are placed as food on the table by us, the next overlords, perhaps this final outcome for humanity can be called..."
