There's always a feeling that now, it doesn't seem to be the right time...
Recalling the oceanic environment where I was just born, it was extremely unique, with incredibly clear and mature rules. The chaotic sea outside, however, had not yet reached that point.
"It's clearly not yet my era, yet I've been born early in a uniquely coincidental environment? Am I... a forerunner?"
With a splash.
He quickly surfaced. His slick, ineffable body gradually twisted and transformed, finally becoming a handsome man, sculpted and muscular like a Norse god, striding forward with long, swift steps.
"This is the surface of the chaotic sea."
Around him, the vast expanse was empty and boundless, silent and desolate.
Through reading the memories of the nine great universes, he knew that this desolate chaotic sea was the norm, and the saints who smuggled through it to the various multiverses were extremely rare and hard to encounter.
Soon, he dove back into the deep sea, heading towards a parallel universe.
He transformed into a nimble fish, effortlessly darting through the seabed, completely at home in the water.
"Those saints, if they saw me freely traversing the chaotic sea, would surely be speechless with shock. After all, this defies the inherent laws of the universe; they might even be unable to comprehend the meaning of our existence..."
His voice was flat and exceedingly stern.
"But their astonishment is natural. Even I am astonished by my own existence: a life form that doesn't belong to this cosmic era, a future dominant spirit, the opener of the final eleventh-tier gate."
This was an abstruse and hazy feeling. Once he understood his future status, he vaguely guessed the true origin of humanity:
The Theory of Genetic Bloodline Completion
Or it could be called... *The Selfish Gene*.
Although the initial Big Bang of the universe formed the trunk of the Great Dao, the explosion was so violent that many scattered fragments of Great Dao rules flew out uncontrollably, spreading everywhere.
From the very beginning, after the Big Bang, the universe was incomplete.
However, it had to be incomplete.
Because it had to be born through the Big Bang, and the Big Bang inevitably caused some of its rules to scatter throughout the universe.
This was a fate akin to destiny.
Therefore, rules were everywhere.
In stones, trees, flowers, plants, water, and living beings.
All of these contained fragments of rules.
"The newborn universe is like a porcelain vase. Although it has a rough main body, its fragments are scattered everywhere... Day after day, these rule-bloodline fragments gave rise to 'spirits.' These spirits began to instinctively seek their task: to complete the universe... The moment this porcelain vase is fully perfected, with the complete return of its rules, the Great Dao cosmic blueprint will become whole, and the singularity will be fully sound. Thus... a higher realm, the eleventh-tier gate, will open."
"Those saints are truly laughable. Rules are not completed; they *return*!" His eyes seemed to hold endless stars.
This sounds complicated, but the rules of the universe are inherently this complex!
"Bloodlines are the true essence. What are called humans, their souls and brains, are merely temporary intelligences created by the rules to aid their return to the universe."
"It's like how humans on a planet invent the 'automobile' as a tool to get home faster... But is the automobile the essence? No, the automobile is merely a pathetic tool, a vehicle, from start to finish."
"These humans... are also the same."
"They are merely tools of the genetic bloodline, a manifestation, a vessel.... Bloodline cultivation techniques? Genetic talents? Second, third genes?"
Haha!!
He couldn't help but laugh, his laughter growing louder. He wasn't sure if he was mocking or if he himself found it too sad, feeling sorrow for those pathetic humans.
"Perhaps, this theory of human origin could be called... *The Selfish Gene*."
"If this cruel truth were told to the saints, they would surely not believe it. But..." He suddenly said coldly, "This *is* the truth, you pathetic old beings, do you understand? You are merely vessels for the genetic bloodline, a transition."
Gradually, he approached the shore.
He clearly felt that the seabed of the chaotic sea in this universe was spewing clear spring water, evolving the chaotic sea's matter, making it more suitable for life.
"How strange. Could it be that this is happening because they know of our destined birth, and they are shaping the environment for us in the chaotic sea?" A hint of confusion flashed through the chaotic being.
He walked directly out of the ocean, slowly stepping onto the shore.
This incredibly intelligent chaotic sage walked across a desolate cosmic beach, gazing into the distance. "The universe is too vast. A single cosmic continent, even for us vast giants of equivalent scale, is like a human standing on a planetary continent—boundless... How much more so for those fungus-like microorganisms?"
He looked at his feet and into the distance.
"This is a desolate wasteland, not suitable for establishing a dojo. I deliberately landed here, as I already know the historical information of the nine great universes, and I am too weak to contend with the saints entrenched in their dojos."
He knew clearly that there were too many desolate areas in the universe.
Especially the chaotic sea.
Aside from a few areas suitable for building dojos, almost everything else was uninhabited.
He gradually moved forward, walking along the coast, but then he lowered his head slightly and picked up some massive biological debris. "Seashells? Mollusk corpses? How can these be along the coast?"
"Something is strange! The universe might not be as I knew it." A thread of unease, keenly felt, flashed through his mind.
He clearly knew "the past" and "the future," and had even deduced the current cosmic structure. He knew everything in the world without leaving his dwelling.
But when he stepped out and saw the new world, it felt as if the future he had envisioned had shattered and collapsed into fragments.
"This is not the future I foresaw."
"How could the universe have become like this?"
He continued forward.
His body surprisingly shrunk, collapsing as its dense structure was intensely compressed, transforming into a tiny humanoid life form, which then landed on the beach once more.
He continued inland and suddenly discovered that a short distance past the coastline, at nodal points where dojos existed, the area was lush and green. Countless vast plants had surprisingly formed a sort of coastline.
He instantly froze.
He looked up and saw indescribable giant creatures forming a massive green grassland, filled with birdsong and the scent of flowers. Flowers, bees, and roaming beasts made it truly a paradise on earth.
But with his insight, he quickly realized something.
These plants were a defense perimeter, equipped with some unspeakable destructive weapons!
But why was the coast where he just landed completely desolate?
Desolate...
Perhaps it was an unsuitable place to establish a dojo!
His heart pounded, and a trace of unease flashed through him. "They have rooted these terrifying giant plants in all their coastal dojos, forming a jagged line to defend against creatures that might emerge from the chaotic sea!"
He, however, had merely landed on an "indentation" point; that particular beach was unsuitable for defense, so the protected zone appeared only a short distance inland.
"What a grand scheme! It seems these terrifying structures have appeared along the entire periphery of the cosmic continent, to guard against enemies emerging from the chaotic sea." His expression changed drastically. He already knew who the enemies born from the chaotic sea were; there was no one else but them...
A rustle.
Just then, some small creatures approached from a distance, seemingly having detected him.
The chaotic being's expression shifted slightly. "Not good! With such a rooted and meticulous defense line, they must have been preparing for untold years. It's impossible that they wouldn't have detection methods for me!"
He prepared to burst out, kill, and immediately escape back to the chaotic sea.
"Brother, what are you doing?"
An aged saint, with a calm and curious expression, asked, "I am Hua Ya, an old man. This is the Black-Clad Saint with the Spear. Are you also here to join our forces of the heavens and resist those evil creatures from the chaotic sea?"
Like a planet establishing its own civilization, with houses and streets, they needed to dig soil from the surface, reach in to grasp and excavate, and consume the universe's fungi—humanity—for their sustenance.
This was their final fading warmth.
When a higher-tier creature appears in the food chain, the beings that were once at the top will become food for the new overlords.
This was natural, and it was inevitable.
And at that moment, he fully understood where he came from and what mission he carried in this universe.
Over countless years, all the information and data accumulated in the cosmic chaotic sea allowed him to comprehend the vast information flow from the greater universe, vivid scenes from all past cosmic eras.
"To observe the future through the past, to deduce a fragment of what is to come—this is the path of cultivation..."
However, he had a question:
Why was he the only one born?
Where were the other life forms of his kind?
Many contemporary saints found it difficult to grasp the fundamental essence of the "Dao," yet he understood it instantly because he stood on the shoulders of the bloodline civilization, using the vast knowledge accumulated throughout ancient and modern times as his blueprint.
Or rather...
The meaning of life.
This mysterious being pondered incessantly, his gaze revealing wisdom as profound as that of a sage.
He was born with knowledge.
Dark currents slowly moved within the chaotic sea.
Soon, he directly saw a fragment of the future.
But it is also the very essence, isn't it? For the so-called Dao is merely the natural evolution of the universe. The true nature of cultivation is simply... to know the past, deduce the future, comprehend change, and name truth.
He continued to swim forward, murmuring softly, instantly perceiving the ultimate essence of the Great Dao.
They would be the ultimate life overlords of the nine cosmic continents.
