Chapter 927: Carefree Wanderings (Two-in-One)

“You... you actually came to save me?” The Demon Lord was visibly surprised.

Mr. Cat smiled serenely. "We were all born in this Jianghu universe. When facing external enemies, it's only natural to help resist."

The Demon Lord's power primarily resided in his 108 quantum avatars. These were the culmination of his immense resources and painstaking effort. While quantum battle bodies are not true bodies, his Holy Martial battle bodies were consistently more powerful than his true form. For others, the destruction of a battle body meant significant losses, but for him, it was even more critical. All his combat strength derived from these more than a hundred battle bodies; losing all 108 would essentially render him 90% incapacitated.

The Demon Lord's expression became complex. "You were clearly waiting for my power to be severely depleted... At that point, locating my true body would be easier, and with me having no resistance, fusing with me would be much simpler." After all, they were rivals, eager for each other's downfall.

You shook his head. "My thinking differs from theirs. Would fusing with just you truly be useful?"

The Demon Lord was taken aback.

"If other powerful beings were at our level, they would have likely already achieved a multiverse fusion, converging into a 'superego'... Yet, precisely because we are so immensely powerful, fusion has become almost impossible!"

"The man named Wang Renming, who pioneered the entire quantum Jianghu multiverse civilization... His manifestations across more than thirty parallel universes, each one a Martial Dao Heavenly Venerate Ancestor in their respective worlds, led to the creation of countless diverse martial arts schools and the emergence of this magnificent Martial Dao."

Mr. Miao remarked with emotion: "Over the years, we have traversed parallel universes, conquering and assimilating countless versions of ourselves from alternate timelines, defeating those Martial Dao Ancestors and brilliant iterations of ourselves... Now, only the four of us remain. Yet, we've come to realize that none of us can truly defeat or kill the others."

Indeed, this was true. The martial arts techniques of all four were nothing short of world-shattering! The Demon Lord's Delusion Demonic Split Art and Dao Heart Demon Seed technique meant that anyone feeling fear would be assimilated on a quantum level. The Martial Alliance Leader's overwhelming power was invincible, horrifyingly so. Zhou Meng's Universe Dream concept was equally formidable, likening the entire cosmos to a grand dream... while he slept in his dwelling, his quantum battle body dreamt of the real universe, becoming that entity. Each of these three was powerful beyond measure. Their martial arts philosophies, intellect, and innate talents were so immense that they prevented fusion or mutual destruction, thus blocking the final step toward a superego.

They pioneered an entire era, only to be completely halted by their own immense power. In fact, if this trend continued, their martial arts successors, following the paths they forged, might engage in mutual combat and integrate even sooner than them, achieving a breakthrough into the complete Ninth Order!

It was precisely because Wang Renming, in every universe, was so terrifyingly powerful that fusion became impossible.

"You intend to rescue him?" Caroline offered a slight smile. "Only your ultimate martial art remains unrevealed... It appears formidable. You're even stronger than the Martial Alliance Leader, who is currently being utterly overwhelmed and pulverized by my power. You must have sensed it: my power is roughly three times that of the current Diqi, which means it's twelve times greater than yours! No matter how refined a technique or martial art, it cannot bridge such an energy gap. Yet, the Demon Lord's first reaction wasn't 'Can you save me?' but 'Why are you saving me?'" Caroline's eyes sparkled. "It seems he has absolute confidence in your ability to rescue him." She was immensely curious about the final individual's martial art. Naturally, through the players, she knew Mr. Cat best; his practiced art was seemingly called 'Free Roaming'.

"It's not a question of whether I *can* save him... but rather, that within this realm, almost no one can catch me. In my presence, sheer energy or power level isn't enough; what cannot be grasped, simply cannot be grasped." Mr. Cat stood with his hands clasped behind his back, clad in white, calmly observing Caroline. "Do you know who the greatest impediment to the four of us fusing is?" He offered a slight smile, embodying the image of a true Martial Dao Grandmaster. More than the other three, he exuded the aura of a gentle and refined master of martial arts. "It's not the Martial Alliance Leader, who sweeps all before him; the other three could collectively attack him, eliminate him first, and then deliberate on what remains... that's feasible." "Nor is it the Demon Lord. While he possesses many avatars, the others could unite, regardless of the cost, to locate his true body." "And it's certainly not Zhou Meng; even if that sly old fox is dreaming, there are still ways to find him..." Mr. Cat spoke articulately, "The true obstacle preventing their fusion is me."

"It's you?" Caroline was taken aback. She hadn't conceived that this individual was the ultimate impediment to their fusion.

"Yes, even if the three of them combined their efforts, they couldn't harm a single hair on my head." Mr. Cat chuckled. "While my combat power is the weakest among the four, they cannot capture me, and I cannot fuse with any of them. Therefore... we are destined for a stalemate."

Caroline's gaze shifted. She seemed to grasp his meaning. Was it possible that Mr. Cat, knowing their fusion was impossible, chose to save the Demon Lord rather than seize the opportunity?

"You are quite intriguing." Caroline's expression darkened, and layers of light converged around her, unleashing a terrifying aura. "Then, allow me to see just how powerful your ultimate martial art truly is!"

"It's no use..." Mr. Cat gathered the Demon Lord's more than a hundred battle bodies, causing them to vanish into his inner space. Alone, he faced the overwhelming golden ocean. *Boom!* In an instant, layers of Dao techniques erupted fully. Caroline, cultivating the Spiritual Universe, possessed spell mastery and mental power that could only be described as an astonishing, bottomless well.

*Whoosh.* Caroline stretched out her hand. A shimmering golden energy net of void fiercely enveloped You. Yet, the entire net seemed to pass straight through his body, utterly failing to ensnare him. It was as if he were a high-dimensional phantom from an unknown dimension, impervious to any energy.

"What kind of martial art is this?" "Are you not in the same space-time? No! You clearly exist within this real universe! But how did you evade it?" Caroline was instantly astonished, her mind reeling.

Caroline was familiar with these martial arts: Quantum battle bodies could disperse to their absolute limits... Thus, she had constructed a vast energy net, like a fishing net, forming an impenetrable encirclement from all directions, leaving no escape route.

"How did you escape?" Caroline couldn't help but ask. "Why, I simply swam out of this net," Mr. Cat chuckled. "After all, I am a free-swimming fish within my own domain, roaming unbound between heaven and earth."

"Swam out?" That statement was utterly perplexing. Caroline paused her actions, sensing that further attacks would be futile. Frowning, she looked at him and asked, "'Free Roaming'? What kind of martial art is that?"

Mr. Cat smiled. "Your approach is quite correct. The most effective way to deal with quantum battle bodies is to encircle them with a high-density energy spell net, preventing them from scattering into countless particles and escaping. This is a common capture method in our Jianghu." Mr. Cat continued, "However, my martial art allows me to effortlessly swim out of such energy nets, which is why it's called... 'Free Roaming.' I am like a fish swimming freely through the universe, unconstrained; no one can capture me."

Caroline furrowed her brow.

"Is it incomprehensible?" Mr. Cat still appeared to relish idle conversation, as if merely chatting rather than engaging in combat, for in the entire Jianghu, he had never encountered any entity capable of threatening his life.

"Then..." He casually conjured a man-sized, incredibly dense black meteorite from the void. "Have you ever heard of 'wall-phasing'?"

Caroline smiled in return. "Wall-phasing? Like those ancient Jianghu tricks?"

"An ancient Jianghu trick... you could say that. Do you believe you could accomplish it?" Mr. Cat smiled. "Without distorting any fundamental laws."

"Human flesh passing through a wall, without distorting the laws of the universe?" Caroline shook her head slightly; it sounded like an absurd paradox.

This is the real universe; everything must adhere to the laws of matter. Deities who haven't mastered fundamental laws can effortlessly demolish countless stones, yet they cannot make their own flesh pass through them. In fact, on their technological side, the Ishudar people, scientists once explored the possibility of wall-phasing. Theoretically, wall-phasing is scientifically achievable. While a ridiculous concept in macroscopic physics, it becomes possible in microscopic physics. Humans are composed of quanta, and walls are also composed of quanta. There are vast spaces between these particles, such as between atomic nuclei and electrons. These minuscule gaps are entirely imperceptible to the human eye, making walls appear as incredibly solid entities. Theoretically, if a person's angle and direction perfectly align with the wall's empty spaces, creating a precise match without any collision, they could safely pass through. However, this remains purely theoretical. Because quanta possess indeterminacy, they are usually in high-speed motion, making it impossible to predict their exact movement in the next second. To phase through a wall, one would need to instantaneously perceive the next-second movement patterns of all the wall's quanta, while simultaneously adjusting the structural direction of their own quadrillions of quanta to form a perfectly fitting key, ensuring no collision, thereby allowing passage directly through the "wall."

Even among scientists on Earth, countless individuals have put forth this very idea. But is it truly possible? A theory, after all, might remain just that—a theory.

Inside Caroline, the players erupted in a flurry of exclamations. "Holy cow, is wall-phasing really that hard? You need to predict *all* the quantum states of the wall for the next second?" "Isn't this like Schrödinger's Cat? Quanta are indeterminate! How could you predict the next second?" "Hold on, did you guys forget right from the start? When You first met them, he introduced himself as... Schrödinger's Cat!" The discussion became frantic.

"Predicting the next-second movement patterns of all quanta in an entire object, or even the universe, isn't that the legendary foresight of the future? Isn't that the famed Laplace's Demon?" "I'm completely lost," a struggling student chimed in, "What's Laplace's Demon?" "It was proposed by Laplace in 1814: if a being knew the current state of the smallest particles, it could, in theory, deduce the past and future states of the entire object based on the laws of mechanics, thus foreseeing both past and future... Later generations dubbed this hypothetical being Laplace's Demon!" "Holy cow, a simple 'wall-phasing' technique requires predicting an object's future several seconds in advance? Only a great entity capable of foreseeing future space-time can phase through walls? (Utterly bewildered)" "So, Mr. Cat is the legendary Laplace's Demon?" "As a struggling student, I'm utterly baffled watching your fervent discussion. You truly are all like sages! I guess I'll have to study furiously until I'm bald before I'm qualified to chat with you guys (shivering)."

At this point, Caroline asked, "Without distorting any laws, can you directly phase through a wall?"

"I can," You replied. Under Caroline's astonished gaze, he slowly walked into and passed through the meteorite, emerging on the other side. "This is 'Free Roaming.' I can predict the quanta around me—that is, the immediate world—two seconds into the future. That's how I can phase through walls! Virtually no method can bind or capture me." He explained to Caroline, "Your energy spell net, like a wall, appears to have no gaps. But no matter how dense the energy, there are always spaces. They are like countless small spheres, moving rapidly in place. While other powerful beings' quantum battle bodies cannot traverse such a dense net, I can calculate the quantum movements for the next few seconds. By anticipating the direction of these gaps, I can pass through this 'wall' completely unharmed."

Caroline listened, then smiled. "It sounds utterly absurd... yet it's undeniably true." As a scientist herself, she was naturally the one who could best comprehend his words.

"So, to capture you, this 'free-swimming fish,' theoretically, a net would need the density of a neutron star to prevent you from passing through..." Such a density would be equivalent to compressing the entire Earth into a sphere just 22 meters in diameter. Only then would it be truly impassable. A neutron star, with virtually no gaps, is the closest thing to a genuine wall.

"I truly cannot capture you," Caroline admitted, taking a deep breath and slowly collecting her thoughts. "I cannot achieve such extreme density. While I possess black hole-like spells, they are merely simulations and insufficient to ensnare you."

Mr. Cat's expression remained impassive, as he clearly knew this to be the inherent truth. His ultimate quantum martial art, 'Free Roaming,' enabled him to predict the quantum movement states of his immediate surroundings a few seconds into the future, thereby foreseeing events moments before they happened. Consequently, nothing could ever capture him.

"Then perhaps we can discuss the science of this matter," Caroline proposed, her interest piqued. "Since I cannot defeat or capture you... we might as well sit down and exchange knowledge."

"Indeed, we should have," Mr. Cat replied. As an exceptionally rational individual and a profound seeker of both martial arts and knowledge, he readily agreed. The two immediately sat down to converse, their gaze occasionally drifting towards another distant battlefield.

"It appears that many entities from this civilization have already descended and joined the fray; wars are erupting everywhere."
