Chapter 396: End of the Month Matters Six Seven Eight Nine

At the beginning of the month, I wrote an update covering points one to five. Now that it's the end of the month, I want to bring that to a proper conclusion.

Six. At the start of the month, I promised a minimum of 5,000 words daily, with four days off, which would amount to approximately 140,000 words by month's end. For many writers, this might seem like a modest update volume, but for me, making such a public promise was genuinely a bit nerve-wracking. I stated from the outset that, beyond the basic monthly passes, you could hold onto your votes and only use them when you saw results. If the mid-month updates weren't satisfactory, you shouldn't vote, no matter how much I might plead for monthly passes. As of yesterday, the 26th, I've already updated close to 165,000 words. This is why I'm now making this point six or seven: if you have any spare monthly passes, you can cast one. There's no need to specially subscribe or accumulate passes for this. Everyone has been incredibly supportive this month. Even though my updates have exceeded expectations, I still feel they haven't matched the effort you've put in. My request for votes is simply for any leftover monthly passes you might have on hand.

Seven. This monthly pass battle has been truly remarkable, with veteran readers steadily returning and new readers consistently showing strong support. It's a fantastic dynamic where both groups complement each other perfectly. I know "Snow Fighter" wasn't initially a very appealing work—it's neither pure fantasy nor pure wuxia, more of a genre blend. However, writing "Snow Fighter" has made me genuinely happy. I'm happy that I haven't encountered major writer's blocks, happy that I've quietly redeemed myself, happy that many new readers have joined in, happy when new readers occasionally don't understand an update and older readers playfully tease them, happy that you debate or explain plot points, and also happy that I've written many characters I love. For me, as long as my life is stable, I don't mind earning a little less if it means having more readers. Of course, if I can achieve both in the future, that would be ideal.

I was lucky to debut during the golden age of web novels; back then, I never imagined I'd be where I am today. I'm lucky to have met all of you.

Eight. "Snow Fighter" will begin pre-sales on Dangdang.com starting tomorrow, Wednesday. "Toad" is expected to be published in October, but that's still quite a while off compared to "Snow Fighter." So, "Snow Fighter" will be my first published simplified Chinese book. I hope everyone will support it within their means, and I sincerely wish that "Snow Fighter" becomes a physical book that retains and increases its value. I've always felt that "Snow Fighter" is better experienced when held in hand and read slowly in print. I imagine my dedicated reader at the publishing house, the lovely woman who planned the publication of "Snow Fighter," must be utterly speechless from my procrastination. I want to express my gratitude to her here. It's precisely because of her "single-minded determination" that everyone can see the physical book version of "Snow Fighter" so soon.

I suddenly remembered a line describing Li Yufu in the book: "I see Zhenwu, Zhenwu sees me."

I work hard to write, and you quietly read.
