Daoist masters soar through the sky and burrow into the earth, capable of beheading a foe from a thousand miles away. Buddhist Bodhisattvas, with their downcast brows and fierce gazes, can shake Mount Kunlun with a mere lift of a hand. And who says scholars lack spirit? In a fit of rage, they can make even the Emperor reveal a look of sorrow. Stepping across rivers, lakes, and singing, I wield a sword that makes immortals kneel. With a saber, a sword, and wine, three hundred thousand iron cavalry conquer the heavens. Welcome to the reader's forum for Fenghuo Xizhuhou.

In Longqing County, following the death of Grand General Zhong Hongwu, who had retired and returned home, the previously obscure Fish-Dragon Gang suddenly rose to prominence. The Fish-Dragon Gang not only seized most of Longqing County's waterway business, but through their extensively connected border smuggling operations, they reportedly managed to wield influence in the upper echelons of officialdom in both Lingzhou and Youzhou.

The newly ranked Top Ten Sects of the martial arts world were vibrant and energetic, a welcome change from the weariness of the past. Huishan Ziyi was undoubtedly the biggest winner, not only elevating their Great Snow Terrace and Crescent Moon Pavilion into the top three, surpassing the declining Dragon-Tiger and the rising Wudang sects, and standing proudly alongside the Wu Family Sword Tomb and Lantuo Mountain, but also bringing Spring God Lake's Kuai Xue Villa to prominence. Following them were the Dragon Palace in Southern Xinjiang, jokingly referred to as "Mr. Nalan's Maidservant"; Dao Zhuang, an emerging sect in the Northern lands; and Spring Post Thatched Cottage in Western Shu's Bamboo Sea, led by "Xie Xie," a beauty from the Rouge Rankings. The Fish-Dragon Gang of Beiliang's Lingzhou, ranking last, was the most unexpected newcomer. It possessed neither a top-tier First-Rank master as its anchor nor a deep, showy heritage. However, after a few brawls involving hundreds of individuals and subsequent mergers of several gangs from other prefectures, the constant sarcastic remarks ceased. The reputation of the young female gang leader steadily grew, but for some reason, she rarely appeared in public, with most affairs handled by the foreign high-ranking guest elders, who were suspected of usurpation.

In the martial arts world of the past, masculinity dominated femininity; so-called heroines and celestial maidens were merely decorative additions, unable to stir up significant waves. Now, things were very different. Among the Top Ten Sects, there were four female leaders: Xuanyuan Qingfeng, the Martial Arts Alliance Leader; Lin Hongyuan, the new Palace Master of Dragon Palace; Xie Xie from Western Shu; and Liu Nirong of the Fish-Dragon Gang, almost equaling the number of male leaders. However, among these four women, Liu Nirong was undoubtedly the most inconspicuous. She lacked the beauty of Xie Xie from the Rouge Rankings, the peak martial skills of Xuanyuan Qingfeng, and even within the Fish-Dragon Gang, she seemed to have subtly receded into the background, resembling a puppet.

Many locals in Lingzhou couldn't help but feel indignant on her behalf. It was always the larger store bullying the customer; how could a customer bully a large store?

At the renowned Nanxiangzi Restaurant in Longqing County, a spirited young woman ascended to the upper floor alone. She ordered several signature seasonal dishes and drank by the window. The innkeeper, an elder from Longqing County's prefectural city, had an excellent relationship with the retired Old Gang Leader Liu. Seeing this junior woman, whom he had watched grow up, looking dejected, he felt sympathy. However, knowing her temperament, he couldn't show it on his face. He simply had someone fetch good wine aged for years in the cellar, personally unsealed it, and joined her for a bowl of fiery liquor, chatting about Old Master Liu's martial arts exploits from his younger days. When the old innkeeper saw a group of swaggering individuals ascending the stairs, he sighed and silently stood up to leave. Every family has its own troubles, and the current Fish-Dragon Gang was certainly not something an old wine seller like him could get involved with.

The woman looked up. The three men were guest elders who had joined the Fish-Dragon Gang in two separate groups. One was a brawny man in his prime, originally a notorious swordsman from Youzhou, who carried a famous saber called "Daoyi." The old man was a top-tier internal martial arts master from Hezhou, nearing the Second-Rank realm, renowned as the "Brush Hand." The young, handsome gentleman, surprisingly, was the strongest of the three and adept at using intricate hidden weapons, making him unpredictable. He was a rising talent in the Jiangnan martial arts world.

The Fish-Dragon Gang currently boasted four Grand Enshriners and eighteen guest elders. These three were all confidantes of the Second Grand Enshriner, Jiang Cixi. Jiang Cixi, a demon from Southern Xinjiang, had once, at the Second-Rank realm, slain a Daoist True Master of the Zhixuan rank from a respected Southern temple. Not to mention Jiang Cixi, whose head should have been sought by the martial arts world, even Xu Dachang, the swordsman with the Daoyi saber, was a formidable character whom no old Fish-Dragon Gang member, except for Old Gang Leader Liu, could contend with. Such a truly "mixed bag" gang, with its ambitious and factional members, could probably only be suppressed by someone almost invincible, like Huishan Ziyi.

Xu Kunshan, the "Brush Hand," had long been involved in the martial arts world and was a shrewd old man. Although he looked down on the young woman from the bottom of his heart, he still pleasantly addressed her as "Gang Leader Liu." Xu Dachang gripped the hilt of his Daoyi saber, a mocking smile on his face. He sat down casually and poured himself a cup of wine. At this time, the Fish-Dragon Gang was numerous and powerful, practically "well-armed and strong," like those involved in border smuggling whose origins were untraceable. They could even openly carry light crossbows, and the government could only turn a blind eye. This group of people were all under Grand Enshriner Fang Gaoqi. However, Enshriner Fang had always stayed out of the Fish-Dragon Gang's power struggles. Everyone suspected he had a background with the Beiliang military, so naturally, no one dared to provoke him. But the other three enshriners, including Jiang Cixi, were genuine martial artists with clear backgrounds. The three of them had internal disputes but also supported each other, and they quickly completely sidelined the nominal gang leader. The young woman, already unable to command respect, was no match for the cunning of these seasoned veterans who understood the rules of the martial arts world. Not only did she gradually lose her voice, but she was even reduced to being a wager between two young guest elders.

After the handsome man sat down, he gazed at the woman across the table and smiled, asking, "Nirong, I'm having a martial arts match with Song Chunqiao at Yaohua Pond today at *youshi* (5-7 PM). Would you be willing to cheer me on?"

Liu Nirong's eyes were merely cold, showing little emotional fluctuation.

Xu Dachang couldn't stand the young woman's detached demeanor. Like many newcomers to the gang, he had heard upon first joining the Fish-Dragon Gang that the Crown Prince had once visited and had some connection with this woman named Liu Nirong. Because of this, they initially restrained themselves, acting cautiously, and some even hoped to use the Fish-Dragon Gang as a stepping stone to gain favor with the new Prince of Liang, perhaps even securing an official post in Lingzhou. However, the longer they were involved with the Fish-Dragon Gang, the less anyone believed the young prince had much involvement with the gang. Even if there was a connection, it was merely a fleeting acquaintance, not even a casual romance. Firstly, Liu Nirong was not particularly striking in appearance. Secondly, if she truly was a "wild bird" kept by the Lord of Beiliang outside his court, why was the Fish-Dragon Gang almost changing its leadership without any word from the Prince of Liang's manor?

Xu Dachang took down his Daoyi saber and slammed it heavily onto the table. Then he picked up a cup of wine and offered it to Liu Nirong, grinning maliciously, "Gang Leader, do you want to drink a toast or a forfeit?"

The handsome man glared at Xu Dachang with a smile. "Brother Xu, how can you be so rude to the Gang Leader?"

Xu Dachang put down the cup, forcing a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "I, Xu, don't recognize any gang leaders. Only if she were my sister-in-law would I take her seriously."

Liu Nirong finally spoke calmly, asking, "Qi Gumei, I heard that the outcome of your martial arts match with Song Chunqiao will decide my fate?"

The young master, imbued with the refined demeanor of a Jiangnan literati, said innocently, "Nirong, are you angry?"

Liu Nirong glanced at him and sneered, "How about we postpone it for a few days? Since it's a martial arts match, the more distinguished the spectators, the more enjoyable it will be. I'll see if I can invite the Lingzhou Prefect."

Qi Gumei laughed, "Prefect Xu handles affairs of an entire prefecture and is busy with a myriad of duties. Nirong, I'm afraid you might not be able to invite him."

Xu Dachang crossed his legs, took a sip of wine, and sneered, "Gang Leader Liu, don't try to puff yourself up. Your Fish-Dragon Gang's paltry resources are already clear to us brothers. And you're still thinking of associating with a Third-Rank border official? If you're not embarrassed, I, Xu, am embarrassed for you. Besides, with your rudimentary martial arts skills, you'd be better off obediently marrying Brother Qi and raising a family. If Brother Qi manages the Fish-Dragon Gang, and with Old Enshriner Jiang keeping the lesser folk in check, then the Fish-Dragon Gang will truly be on the path to prosperity. If you don't choose the dashing Brother Qi, are you blind enough to pick that short, stocky Song Chunqiao, who's as dark as charcoal..."

At this point, Xu Dachang burst into laughter, his eyes hot and lewd. "Song Chunqiao is so dark, but Gang Leader, your skin is quite fair. If we were to meet naked on the bed, that would be truly interesting..."

Liu Nirong was about to act to teach this insolent fellow a lesson when Xu Kunshan, who had been watching coolly, smiled and lightly tapped the table with his finger. The wine cup in front of Liu Nirong bounced a foot high and then remained suspended in mid-air, guided by an outward qi force.

This display of skill was definitely something Liu Nirong could not achieve.

Qi Gumei, who had been observing Liu Nirong, suddenly frowned. He saw an unprecedented glint of unusual brilliance flash in the woman's eyes, but it quickly disappeared.

Xu Dachang turned his head and saw three figures, one tall and two shorter, entering the second floor from the stairwell. The one in the middle was remarkably more striking than Qi Gumei's handsome appearance. The two young lads by his side also didn't seem normal. One teenager casually rested his hands on a long saber carried on his shoulder, while the other had a sword strapped to his back with a box, looking comically like a hedgehog. This was a rare sight in Lingzhou. Beiliang was much more dull and uninteresting than the outside martial arts world. People here didn't much care for flashy theatrics, due to the local customs. Most were straightforward. Many new members of the Fish-Dragon Gang initially found it difficult to adapt. Unlike the Central Plains martial arts world, where people would talk for a long time before a fight—discussing their lineage, reasons, principles, and rules—here, a fight would often start instantly, sometimes even over a simple disagreement in glances, leading to drawn blades and deadly combat. These three unfamiliar faces clearly stood out from the crowd.

Xu Dachang did not act rashly. Lingzhou was teeming with descendants of generals; one might casually encounter three or four. Although these pampered scions were currently like dragons in shallow waters, not just anyone could step on them freely. Xu Dachang glanced at Xu Kunshan, who possessed profound internal energy. The latter confidently nodded, indicating that the old man had discerned that the qi of the three strangers was ordinary and that they weren't masters capable of ambushing them. Feeling reassured, Xu Dachang twisted his body, turning his chair with him, and curtly said, "Get lost! I've booked this entire second floor."

The young man, who appeared even more aristocratic than Qi Gumei, smiled and asked, "Is the Fish-Dragon Gang very impressive?"

The young man was asking Liu Nirong, completely ignoring the other three.

Xu Dachang, being hot-tempered, immediately stood up with a sinister grin and casually picked up the Daoyi saber from the table.

The saber-carrying youth grinned and said, "Master, how about I do it! And Wang Sheng, don't you dare snatch it from me!"

Wang Sheng snorted coldly. Xu Kunshan's face drastically changed, and he quickly shot a meaningful glance at Qi Gumei.

Qi Gumei calmly stood up and said politely, "Gang Leader, I still need to rush to Yaohua Pond for the martial arts match, so I will take my leave now."

Liu Nirong remained expressionless.

Xu Dachang was utterly confused, but he still followed Qi Gumei and Xu Kunshan downstairs. On the stairs, all three could clearly hear the saber-carrying youth and the sword-bound youth incessantly complaining.

"Wang Mutou, sword energy is for killing, not for scaring people!"

"You startled the snake by beating the grass, didn't you? Made me lose three of my saber-training stakes? Even the shabbiest stake is still a stake! You pay for them!"

"Master, you be the judge."

Xu Fengnian ignored Lu Yunchang and watched the three men leaving the building through the window. Qi Gumei happened to look up, and the young master didn't forget to offer a polite smile. Xu Fengnian paid him no mind and sat down at Liu Nirong's table, chuckling softly, "Not to mention calling on Xu Beizhi for help, you could at least have spoken to Fang Gaoqi of the Fushui Chamber. It wouldn't have come to this."

Liu Nirong remained silent.

Xu Fengnian took a clean cup offered by Wang Sheng and poured himself some wine.

Liu Nirong suddenly smiled, as she inexplicably recalled the scene back in Yanhuiguan, where this fellow was squatting by a well, haggling with a water-selling rogue.
