Chapter 1458: Falling Souls of All Heavens, Only the River Eternal

A channel, resembling tangible ultrasound waves in a grid pattern, formed and spanned time and space, leading to the Soul River in an unknown place.

Within the unsettling black light, a pair of brilliant eyes opened and closed, like two golden lamps in a vast abyss. They were intensely bright, but the creature's outline remained indistinct, still blurry.

It exuded boundless killing intent, stirring up a fierce gale that stripped the Soul Light Cavern bare wherever it passed, leaving nothing behind.

Chains of the Great Dao appeared, the Soul Light Cavern shattered, and the black light plunged into the ripple-patterned channel, surging directly towards the Soul River!

This was a fight to the death; the black light intended to slaughter the beings of the Soul River!

The Soul River was clearly not in the living world!

Its location was unknown; it transcended the mortal realm.

Boom! Without a word, after passing through the grid-like channel, the black light immediately attacked, shaking heaven and earth, ferociously severing the Soul River!

"Aow!" A terrifying low roar, like billions of gods and demons wailing, rose as countless soul lights surged up, obscuring the sky, disrupting time, and threatening to invert past and present.

The unsettling black light also surged dramatically!

Then, a mist arose, spreading boundless gloom. Nothing could be seen as the great mist covered the sky, rendering the entire Soul River invisible, and a deathly silence fell.

Anyone present would surely be terrified.

The black light's attack was incredibly domineering, possessing world-shaking power. Yet, once the mist appeared, it rendered the entire area deathly still, with nothing visible or audible.

No one knew what was happening inside; even the black light seemed to have vanished.

Not until a moment later did some of the great mist dissipate, allowing everything to become dimly visible.

Then, the place erupted!

The Soul River surged with countless waves and splashes, then torrential rain poured down, blanketing and covering the entire area.

Upon closer inspection, the rain did not come from the sky but originated from the Soul River, surging upwards and obscuring the entire world.

Most terrifying of all, the torrential rain transformed, every raindrop turning into endless soul light imbued with chaotic energy, surging towards the black light.

It was truly horrifying; each raindrop was a chaotic god, densely packed across heaven and earth, without end, all covered in soul blood. It was absolutely terrifying!

Additionally, on the banks, yellow sand filled the sky, rising against the rain.

All the grains of sand transformed into phantoms, slightly weaker soul light, covering everything above and below.

All the soul lights and all the phantoms surged towards the black light!

By the Soul River, a tremendous tremor occurred, and darkness fell once more as the great mist again obscured heaven and earth, rendering everything invisible.

Later, countless figures appeared in the sky, all stained with soul blood, densely packed and intensely burning. Many dissipated, while some turned into raindrops and fell back into the Soul River.

Of the yellow sand filling the sky, some burned into nothingness, vanishing in the air, while others fell onto the banks.

It was astonishing to consider how many raindrops, each containing soul light, were held within just one wave of the Soul River.

On the banks, every grain of sand was also a wisp of soul. The Soul River was vast, its banks covered in countless grains of yellow sand, making it hard to imagine how much had accumulated. This was truly terrifying.

The brief, fierce confrontation ended.

Heaven and earth were silent; the Soul River was still.

It was extremely dim, everything blurred, and only a faint black light remained dimly visible, confronting the Soul River from the bank.

Within the unsettling black light, a pair of eyes opened and closed, their intimidating gaze intensely bright, eventually turning towards the upstream end of the Soul River.

"A pool of dead water!" A voice emanated from the black light.

The Soul River, contrary to its expectations, was surprisingly stagnant, as if abandoned. No terrifying, boundless entity emerged; everything was too calm.

Relatively speaking, what had just occurred was merely a small disturbance.

Legend had it that this place contained countless abnormalities, boundless darkness, and had even seen the shedding of a Heavenly Emperor's blood.

"Is it not time yet? Is that why the gate at the end of the Soul River hasn't opened? Are you... unable to come out?" A voice of doubt came from the black light.

At this moment, a wind rose by the deathly still Soul River, yellow sand filled the sky, and blood-red whirlwinds howled, eerily, as if in response to it.

In the great mist, a heart-pounding aura emerged, causing all heavens to tremble, as an inexplicable great terror seemed to be rapidly approaching!

It felt as though something was about to emerge, giving a very ominous feeling; once it appeared, it seemed this epoch would end, all heavens would collapse, and all realms would bleed, heading towards death.

The great mist, covering the sky!

The Soul River's waters gradually stirred, as if about to fully awaken, becoming restless, then roaring fiercely and surging violently skyward!

Upstream, at the end of the Soul River, terrifying sounds of chains echoed, as if uncanny beings in shackles were moving and approaching.

"Where's the weirdness? Come out then!" A shout came from the black light, truly defiant, unyielding, and incredibly audacious.

Clang! The gate trembled, accompanied by the sound of chains. The banging was deafening, causing a chilling sensation to the bone and sending shivers down one's spine.

At the end of the Soul River, shrouded in mist, a gate seemed about to be smashed open, intimidating the mortal world. A gaze also seemed to pierce through, coldly scrutinizing all heavens and myriad realms.

"Who are you trying to scare? Filthy things, I'll kill you all eventually! How dare you intimidate me, how dare you threaten me? If the big ones can't come out, I'll kill all the small ones that crawl out!"

If anyone knew that a black light had come here to challenge and provoke the end of the Soul River, they would be utterly dumbfounded and their scalps would tingle; it was truly outrageous.

Its audacity was truly outrageous, and its ferocity utterly chaotic.

Sand and stones flew, a fierce wind raged, and the entire Soul River became tumultuous, on the verge of overflowing its banks. Sand grains filled the sky, countless soul phantoms, wailing sounds, and the skeletal remains of gods and demons were everywhere.

However, the black light remained unmoved, still standing there, and sneered, "It seems you can't come out. Is there something even more unsettling, perhaps, raising you?"

In an instant, beyond the Soul River, the world turned crimson, like a sunset or as if blood had stained all heavens.

That was the smell of blood. Then a lingering melody began, surprisingly, the Chaotic Tribulation Song. This supreme art had actually become a kind of soul-summoning song by the Soul River.

Billions of soul lights, like light particles, surged up, disappearing into the end of the Soul River.

In the crimson world, amidst this terrifying melody, an extremely faint voice indistinctly emanated, making one's heart race with unease, followed by a tearing pain, and finally a dull ache.

"Souls of all heavens fall, only the River endures..."

This was a language from an unknown era, its origin too ancient. Even the creature in the black light, with its vast knowledge, could only vaguely determine that it was an ancient tongue from many epochs ago.

However, it could be understood because a certain soul force was faintly spreading, transforming into soul whispers.

This area was incredibly uncanny: the Soul River was endlessly long, the melody was mournful, the crimson sky was horrifying, the great mist expanded, and upstream, the sound of chains hitting the gate was incessant.

"If you can come out, stop blabbering!" The black light did not retreat, remaining defiantly there.

Suddenly, a chilling cold appeared, piercing to the bone like steel needles. Upstream on the Soul River, something truly appeared, crawling onto the riverbank!

"They actually came out?!" The creature within the black light's pupils contracted; this was unexpected.

Moreover, it wasn't just one, but two creatures, utterly terrifying, all indescribable, horrifying the world!

The source of uncanny things truly produced something, carrying the aura of blood and the end of the world!

Within the black light, those pupils contracted.

Then, the unsettling black light as a whole boiled. It did not retreat but was incredibly ferocious, carrying a fierce wind and chains of the Great Dao's order, sweeping forth.

"I'll kill all of you!"
