Chapter 1504: The Final Ruins

Is this a completely new path? Perhaps no one has reached its end yet!

Chu Feng was naturally delighted and excited. This meant that once someone reached the path's end, they might be able to sit there and become an Immortal Emperor!

This was currently the highest known realm, not only in the Yang-Realm but encompassing all heavens, including the realm above. No creature was currently known to have surpassed this level.

“Beneath this soil, throughout this world, spirits are ubiquitous. They were not left behind or created by anyone; they have always existed.” Chu Feng stood on the ground, gazing up at the sky and then out at the boundless land. He deeply felt a sense of spirituality, and in a trance, he saw countless light particles dancing upwards, like fireflies in the night sky, or stars shining forth in a dark universe.

“I will continue to evolve on this path, never looking back!”

The phrase "walking one path to darkness" usually carries a negative connotation, but now he was embracing this belief.

In a daze, the stone jar on his person hummed faintly and trembled. In that instant, Chu Feng even glimpsed a hazy vision.

Long ago, the world was exceedingly prosperous. Pollen particles drifted, swirling and glowing, as beautiful as a fairy tale. They not only filled the entire land with a shower of light but also surged outwards, beyond the heavens.

This was a momentary sight, yet it seemed to freeze, becoming fixed, revealing a mysterious and increasingly grand scene to Chu Feng.

The sky was breached by light particles. They transcended the world, transforming into a rain of light, surging out of all heavens and reaching beyond this realm!

Was that... the heavens above?

Pollen scattered, each particle crystalline, endless, and beautiful. It drifted up to the heavens above, swirling throughout that even vaster super-world.

The entire world became refreshed because of this, with countless light showers and vibrant life. Even the heavens above became beautiful due to the ubiquitous pure light particles.

This was practically a pure land, almost dreamlike. Sacred light particles fell like rain, carrying fragrance, drifting everywhere.

Chu Feng was stunned. What did this mean?

What kind of past did this scene he just witnessed reveal to him?

In that exceedingly distant, ancient era, had the pollen system been incredibly brilliant?

It had once entered the heavens above, leading the splendor of several great eras!

As Chu Feng's thoughts stirred and he gazed into the past, a violent tremor, like primordial immortal thunder exploding, echoed in his ears.

In reality, this was all due to a final tremor from the stone jar, but what Chu Feng saw was different.

Countless light particles, high above in the heavens, were swept by a blinding flash of light. Eventually, the pollen scattered, retreating back into all heavens and returning to its former place.

Why did it ultimately retreat back to the Yang-Realm?

Not only that, the light beam, mysterious and sinister, then plunged down, like a galaxy bursting its banks, or a source of lightning pouring forth.

Countless light particles and pollen danced, boiling across the sky!

But in the end, everything gradually dimmed. What was left in the world?

The terrifying light beam was engulfed and extinguished by the light particles, and those crystalline pollen light particles also vanished, leaving only scorched earth and decay.

The entire landscape, the entire world, fell silent and became a vast ruin.

Not only the Yang-Realm, but also all the heavens that pollen had once reached, various worlds large and small, similarly became completely dim and desolate.

“The Pollen Path was once incredibly brilliant, but it declined and was forced to retreat?!”

Chu Feng was shocked. He felt as if he had glimpsed a corner of the truth, ancient and cruel, revealed before him in his trance.

He saw no blood, nor any great battle, but these might have been obscured by the boiling light particles, potentially hiding an unimaginable tragedy.

Did it simply become silent like that? The once brilliant light particles and countless swirling pollen, which had all reached the heavens above, ultimately met a desolate, dead-end fate.

“Now, have you revived, ready to shine brightly once more?”

Chu Feng gazed at the world, seemingly seeing countless light particles and innumerable pollen substances about to rise and scatter throughout the mountains and beneath the earth.

It had been silent for a very long time, for countless eons!

The once splendid grand world had become a land of death, a ruin. Only after a long passage of time did life return, but the path was already different.

Until one day, the Immortal Path broke again. Those past mysteries, those light particles, that brilliance buried beneath dust and ashes, resurfaced once more.

Through the efforts of that individual and the Three Heavenly Emperors, who stirred the river of time and agitated the entire landscape, those mysterious substances revived, thus mending the broken path.

Was this a coherent piece of the truth?

It was destroyed, became desolate. Was it because this path failed to produce an Immortal Emperor back then? No one could guard it.

Or perhaps, such beings had evolved but were all killed, so now everything was starting anew, waiting for a successor to reach the end, sit down, and transform into an Immortal Emperor?

“Rising from ruin, reviving from desolation!” Chu Feng calmed down, but his gaze became sharper. He first looked down at the earth, then gazed up at the sky, and finally out beyond this realm.

“You seem to have gained some insight, some realization. What have you perceived?” Yu Shang asked, surprised.

Chu Feng nodded gravely. “Yes, it was as if, for an instant, I experienced a cycle of reincarnation, wandering through a period of time, hazy and indistinct, seeing some vague scenes.”

Hearing this, Yu Shang became incredibly solemn. He thought of certain individuals in legends who seemed to have such experiences. “Yes, some can do that. A single glance becomes an eternity, an instant a lifetime. Even a brief pause feels like going through a reincarnation. Something strange seems to be happening to you.”

Chu Feng gave a wry smile. “I didn’t truly have such a reincarnation experience. It was just a feeling, like glimpsing the changes of time, the decline of a brilliant era, and its return to a dim ruin.”

At this point, the stone jar became completely still, without any movement.

Chu Feng fell into deep thought. Was this a coincidence? Why did it seem like he was constantly experiencing something similar?

Earth had once been desolate, then revived.

At that time, someone told him that Earth was a ruin, reviving amidst decay.

Next was the entire Minor Underworld, regarded as a graveyard by outsiders, reviving through cycles of rebirth, essentially a ruin.

And now, could even this Yang-Realm be considered a ruin?

Perhaps, the true ruin was all the heavens!

“Oceans turning to dust, lightning withering, dimming along with those light particles—everything has passed, beyond recall. After billions of years, is this ultimate ruin about to revive?”

Chu Feng was lost in thought. At this moment, he was comprehending, meditating, and pondering the past, present, and future.

“Those mysterious spirits originally existed, merely covered in dust, extinguished. But one day, you will reappear.”

Now, Chu Feng began to ponder whether the decay, ugliness, and corruption at the Grand Universe level were due to contamination by other substances, or if they were an inherent tribulation. To turn decay into wonder, to transform amidst the incredible!

Chu Feng did not hide anything, telling Yu Shang what he had seen and thought, discussing it with him.

After all, Yu Shang had heard many legends and seen numerous rare books. He was very knowledgeable, having delved into many different areas.

“Senior, you mentioned the Grand Universe level decay; is it legitimate, is it meant to be this way? During this process, bodily mutations, like growing extra heads, or additional pairs of arms, wings, scales, a third eye, etc., are actually for enhancement?”

Chu Feng's idea was bold. In his view, the evolution facilitated by light particles and pollen substances was meant to grant them more at the Grand Universe level.

Yu Shang said, “Are you saying that bodily mutations, growing many extra parts, are actually meant to bestow various abilities upon us, or to open the gates within our bodies, revealing boundless immortal treasures?”

“Yes, they are meant to give us abilities, forcefully pushing us to evolve. However, many people truly can't handle that much, so it appears redundant, bloated, even worsened, decayed, and increasingly ugly,” Chu Feng nodded.

He then added, “Perhaps, when facing decay, facing ugliness, and having so many extra organs, we should first calm our minds. We shouldn't think about how to quickly remove the superfluous parts from the mutated body, but rather openly follow through, actively connect, undergo deeper evolution, and then conquer ourselves.”

“Conquer ourselves?!” Yu Shang was truly moved. He felt that Chu Feng's idea was indeed somewhat outlandish, too radical, and incompatible with universal principles.

“Yes, conquer ourselves. The Pollen Path makes us stronger and gives too much. What we truly want are those abilities. We can calmly face them, integrate with them, resonate with them, truly absorb those incredible abilities instead of rejecting the malevolent changes. When everything is gained, it counts as a complete metamorphosis. Then, we can calmly conquer our physical bodies, and at that point, perhaps our true form will be restored.”

Soon after, Chu Feng added that perhaps one must eventually conquer one's own spirit as well.

Yu Shang was dumbfounded. Actively accepting decay, ugliness, even embracing and being content with this state, then quietly cultivating, resonating and connecting, and then conquering oneself after evolution?

Such a path was very different from the one currently taken!

From the past until now, who hasn't shunned it like a viper, changing color at the mention of the Grand Universe level? Everyone wished to take the gentle ultimate path; the former was a choice made out of desperation.

However, it seemed no one had ever survived it. They could only resist, delay the deterioration, and try to live long enough.

But even if they could slay true immortals, eventually, after merely one epoch, it would all come to an end. They would ultimately deteriorate completely, dying in decay and grotesque transformation.

“What you say does… hold some truth. However, don't forget that light particles and pollen might no longer be as pure as in ancient times, having been contaminated by other substances, such as ominous and bizarre elements. Many speculate that this is the fundamental reason for the Grand Universe level decay.”

“That’s part of the reason, but definitely not all of it. For me, the current era is a gray epoch; strange substances can hardly harm my body, they even serve as nourishment!” Chu Feng’s eyes shone brightly, full of confidence.

Beside him, Zi Luan was shocked and almost cried out, thinking, “Is this human trafficker insane? He wants to consume bizarre substances?”

Jun Tuo was also stunned, unable to utter a single word. He finally understood why this junior devil could surpass him so greatly and reach this stage: his audacity was immense! This devil dared to walk any path, and more importantly, he seemed to have truly succeeded for most of the way.

Yu Shang was stern. “You must be careful. I always feel that your period of accumulation and cooling has been too short, your evolution too fast. The problems accumulating within you are extremely severe; one day, they will erupt completely!”

Chu Feng's eyes sparkled with divine light. “Following a routine, a normal path, holds no meaning for me. Time waits for no one. Moreover, I believe that this accumulating horror might be usable by me. Perhaps when it bursts like a flood, it can help me break through the various gates within my body at the Grand Universe state, opening up a completely new path!”

Yu Shang sighed. “The Grand Universe state is incredibly terrifying—decaying, deteriorating. And within the body, there are layers of gates, which aren't necessarily immortal treasures. Legends say that behind these gates are various sources of terror. Most people try to seal them off; who would dare open them?!”

“Yes, it’s terrifying, but I must open them. Rather than leading to an Immortal Emperor's treasure, it might be an immortal burial, but it's still worth exploring and studying!”

Chu Feng redefined it. Since behind the gates lay terror and extreme danger, perhaps 'immortal burial' was indeed an apt description.

“Senior, I must depart!” Chu Feng bid farewell. He was about to set out to evolve. Time was too fleeting, simply not enough; he had no time to waste.

Yu Shang saw him off, watching him depart into the distance.

Zi Luan wept, filled with a sense of foreboding. After this farewell, she didn't know if they would ever meet again in this life. Perhaps this was their final encounter.
