“Go on, get out of here!”
Chu Feng didn’t want to listen to his teasing; the strange dragon never had good intentions anyway.
“I’m genuinely looking out for you!” Long Dayu chuckled, not looking at all trustworthy.
Chu Feng didn’t waste words. He simply performed his "head-pat of doom," calmly and resolutely stroking Long Dayu's head, leaving the strange dragon powerless to resist.
“You’re bullying a dragon!” Long Dayu grumbled, indignant. “It’s not even a Heavenly Venerable yet; how can it fight back?!”
Moonlight flowed like water, covering the entire dojo in sacred mist, making it ethereal and serene. Were it not for the blood of a powerful being staining the ground, it would have been truly divine.
The group cleared the battlefield, opened the underground palace, and began searching for treasures.
Piles of books and ancient scrolls lay about, many of them rare secret texts, including some of the Yuan Clan’s cultivation methods and even scriptures from other races. How could a powerful being’s collection be anything but extraordinary? Most importantly, there was a portion of Chaos-level exotic soil, glowing verdantly in the moonlight, emanating auspicious energy and containing astonishing power.
“Only one portion,” Chu Feng lamented.
Everyone was speechless; even Old Gu didn’t want to humor him. “Do you think this is common cabbage, found everywhere?”
“Be content,” sighed Qi Feng, the powerful being. “If this old fellow hadn’t been running out of lifespan and trying to cultivate an heir, he probably wouldn’t have even accumulated this much. This type of soil is truly hard to find.” According to him, even this single portion of Chaos-level soil would take a powerful being tens of thousands of years to accumulate.
“Search carefully,” Chu Feng said, “and see if there’s any Cosmic-level soil!” Of course, he wasn’t demanding to find a full portion; he just wanted to see if he was lucky enough to find even a pound or a few ounces, which would be sufficient.
At this point, even Old Gu rolled his eyes. Such a thing was unimaginable; a decaying, powerful being like this one had no right to possess it.
“Only peerless powerful beings from supreme orthodoxies like the Buddhist or Heng Clans, those with vital energy like the sea, in their prime, and most importantly, Great Chaos-level experts with genuine hope of breaking through to the next realm, would be qualified to even come into contact with Cosmic-level soil!” Qi Feng exclaimed. Even an ancient powerful being like him, who had lived through eons from prehistoric times until now, had never seen Cosmic-level exotic soil. This was because this type of soil was too rare; it would be difficult for an entire clan, even spending half an epoch, to gather one or two portions. Perhaps only the strongest clans in the Yang Realm, such as the Dao and Li Clans, possessed it. It was too precious, a substance more important than anything else.
Chu Feng’s head ached. Just thinking about his future path filled him with a sense of despair. The seed in the stone jar was too voracious, a veritable dirt-swallowing beast, a bottomless pit. He still had ways to acquire Chaos-level soil, but what about Cosmic-level? Especially since he needed such a massive quantity. Unless he plundered the top ten orthodoxies or completely excavated all the famous mountains ranked in the top few dozens in the Yang Realm! But was that realistic?
Chu Feng couldn’t help but sigh toward the sky. He had a premonition that the path would be exceedingly difficult! How could he cross this chasm and continue on a broken path where hope was unseen?
Old Gu said, “Why are you sighing? In just one night, you’ve already obtained five and a half portions of Chaos-level soil!”
“You’re too much, Cao De!” Long Dayu grumbled, full of resentment.
The strange dragon had contributed two portions, his sworn brother provided two and a half, and they acquired another portion here. This speed of accumulating powerful-being-level exotic soil was terrifying. If this got out, the entire Yang Realm would be in an uproar.
“I still have two portions of exotic soil waiting outside,” Chu Feng said. He already viewed the dojos of the Yuan Clan’s other two powerful beings as meat on a platter.
In the latter half of the night, all was silent between heaven and earth. Chu Feng’s group traversed the void. With several powerful beings and Chu Feng, a unique expert nearly reaching the Dual Constant Venerable status, they could be called a super-team. With such a combination, who could stop them? Unless a decayed Cosmic-level being of the Yuan Clan appeared, any of their experts who had established dojos elsewhere were doomed to tragedy.
The second dojo was quiet, with a pure white bamboo forest radiating holy light, making the scene quite beautiful. Within the white bamboo forest was a shimmering blue lake, from which a fragrant aroma wafted. In its waters were Chaos-level Life Lotuses, precisely what powerful beings needed – rare longevity herbs. Old Gu, the strange dragon, and Chu Feng were relatively calm, as they were currently in youthful bodies and didn’t particularly care for such things. The other three powerful beings, exuding an aura of decay, were different. Their eyes glowed green in the night, trembling with excitement, having never imagined such a find here. Two purple plants, both Chaos-level Life Lotuses, each bore a lotus pod, nearing maturity. Their seeds, like tiny purple suns, emitted a clear fragrance on the night breeze.
“This lake is problematic,” Old Gu exclaimed, moved. “It’s all condensed from the flesh and essence of living beings. I knew it; how could such life lotuses grow in an ordinary place?” There were no weaklings present; all were powerful. Looking into the lake, they immediately understood what was happening. The lake wasn’t large, but it contained a rich life essence. Each day, it required a massive influx of flesh and blood, from powerful savage beasts and even astonishingly strong human evolvers. At the bottom of the lake lay countless dry bones, at least tens of thousands. Most critically, there were no mortals among them; all were beings of considerable evolutionary levels. This was because the stronger the being, the higher their life essence, and the more essence they contained. If they were merely mortals, millions, or even tens of millions, might not have achieved the current effect.
“This is truly damnable!” Even the strange dragon’s voice turned cold, his sense of justice erupting. He had spotted the skeletons of several savage dragons among them, dead for many years.
“Who’s there?!” An elder appeared like a ghost, looking at the group with caution and surprise. The domain he had set up had no effect; these people had entered his secluded secret realm as if it were uninhabited, silently and without a trace. Lotuses cultivated by sacrificing lives could not withstand exposure. Even if the Yuan Clan was powerful, they couldn’t cover up such a deed with one hand.
“There’s an agreement among all clans that no aging and dying powerful being can strip other beings of their life essence due to their dwindling lifespan. How dare you do this, poisoning the world!” Old Gu roared. This was a consensus reached since prehistoric times. Otherwise, the world would have long since fallen into chaos! If not strictly adhered to, allowing old monsters to run rampant and strip beings of their essence, the Yang Realm would turn into a dead land, a desolate graveyard.
The Yuan Clan elder was emaciated, exuding an aura of decay. His life source was dried up, and his soul light was dim, indicating he wouldn’t live much longer. No wonder he resorted to such extremes, slaughtering evolvers to cultivate life lotuses.
“Who are you, daring to trespass into the Yuan Clan’s secret realm!” he yelled, clearly putting on a brave front. At the Chaos-level, how could he not see the terrifying power of the group before him?
“What a Yuan Clan! How much evil have you committed, how many have you killed? The Yuan Clan, claiming to be an immortal orthodoxy, a family spanning more than one epoch – what have you done? Do you want to face the world and let everyone see this place?” one powerful being shouted.
Old Gu pulsed with energy, ready to strike. As a Great Chaos-level expert, a pinnacle among powerful beings, he would have an absolute advantage against this elder.
“Wait!” Chu Feng stopped him. This time, he wanted to act personally to test his own strength.
“You seek death!” the Yuan Clan elder snarled, his body glowing, runes filling the sky and illuminating the void. He was clearly sending a message outward.
“No need,” Chu Feng calmly informed him. “I’ve already sealed this area.”
The battle was unavoidable. The Yuan Clan elder fought desperately, his withered vital energy forcibly activated, runes appearing like cast metal, imprinted across the heavens and earth. He was drawing in the great world’s Dao patterns, merging them with himself, intent on obliterating Chu Feng. Even if he died, he wanted to drag someone down with him. Especially after learning Chu Feng’s identity, he wanted to kill him even more.
The battle was quite fierce. Chu Feng displayed his Seven Treasures Divine Art, five beams of light appearing behind him, ringing like five immortal swords, incomparably sharp. If all seven wondrous substances of heaven and earth were gathered, there would be seven immortal lights piercing the sky. In Chu Feng’s projections, in the future, there would even be nine-colored beams of light piercing through all heavens!
At this moment, he directly confronted the powerful being, making the area roar. Even the great world’s Dao patterns were shattered by him. Countless symbols bloomed between them, and energy boiled. In this battle, the sun and moon lost their light; it was truly astonishing. Chu Feng, using his Dual Venerable Dao Fruit, struck the Yuan Clan’s Chaos-level expert until blood spilled from his nose and mouth, and his body was in tatters. Those watching were wide-eyed, utterly shocked. Long Dayu, in particular, swallowed hard, secretly astounded. This fellow, this “De” generation, was too formidable; it made his hair stand on end. He sighed mournfully, realizing he truly couldn’t oppose Chu Feng anymore; he had to embrace his new allegiance rather than resist him.
Boom! Behind Chu Feng, the five-colored beams transformed into five immortal swords, each releasing different, brilliant runes, forming a sword wheel that swept directly outward. A powerful being was slain, his soul light unable to escape, extinguished on the spot!
However, Chu Feng was somewhat dissatisfied. He had actually fought a fierce battle, showing a gap compared to Old Gu. Old Gu, who missed nothing, instantly knew what he was thinking. His expression immediately soured. “I’m a Great Chaos-level expert, aren’t I?” he retorted, annoyed. “How many of those have there been throughout history? You’re just a Great Heavenly Venerable with a dual Dao fruit, even if you’re approaching Constant Venerable status. You’re still not there, and there’s a big realm difference!” Old Gu grumbled inwardly, “Even if you’re close, you’re still just a Dual Constant Venerable. If you could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me now, I’d rather die of embarrassment! It would be too humiliating!” Still, he felt a sense of crisis. Chu Feng was evolving too quickly; he would soon reach Dual Constant Venerable, and even Chaos-level was approaching. At that point, Old Gu would definitely not be his match.
“Only half a portion of Chaos-level soil?!” Chu Feng was extremely disappointed. This was a powerful being from the Yuan Clan, who had accumulated treasures his entire life, and now his life was ending, yet he only had this much soil? The others wanted to scold him again. “You’ve seen so much powerful-being-level soil in one night that you truly don’t consider this strategic exotic soil important anymore, do you?”
Although Chu Feng was disappointed, Qi Feng and the other three powerful beings present were excited and thrilled. Although the growth process of the life lotuses caused terrible disaster and the deaths of many evolvers, their efficacy was indeed astonishing. This wasn’t caused by Qi Feng and the others, so when they harvested and consumed the lotus seeds, the three powerful beings didn’t feel anything amiss. Although it would take a few more years for them to fully mature, they couldn’t wait. A powerful being of the Yuan Clan had died, and the clan would discover the drastic change here sooner or later. Each purple lotus seed, like a tiny sun, was equally divided among the three powerful beings. They all trembled; this would certainly extend their lives by many years. First the Soul Flower, then the Life Lotus – for their lives, this was the beginning of a turning point, bringing infinite possibilities.
Soon, they headed to the third dojo, only to find it empty. This powerful being of the Yuan Clan had returned to his family because he had received an urgent summons: something major had happened! In fact, at this very moment, many great clans and immortal orthodoxies were shaken. Between heaven and earth, a decree descended, manifesting in the void, transforming into one rune imprint after another, appearing in the ancestral halls of clans like the Buddhist, Zhou, Dao, and Ji.
“The era of the Yang Realm’s grand unification has arrived!” an old man muttered to himself, utterly shocked. Even the heavens were about to be unified!
Chu Feng and his group eliminated the third dojo overnight, obtaining another portion of Chaos-level exotic soil, but they weren’t able to kill that powerful being.
“That should be enough for you to advance to Dual Constant Venerable, right?” Old Gu asked.
However, Chu Feng had a psychological complex; he feared it still wouldn’t be enough this time and felt it would be safer to find two more portions. He was afraid of another unexpected setback, getting stuck halfway.
“I’d stake my life on it; it’s enough!” Old Gu declared.
“This… this is outrageous!” When the strange dragon learned how much Chaos-level exotic soil Chu Feng needed to advance to Dual Constant Venerable, his face turned green. “No wonder the ‘De’ generation is so powerful!”
“Just average,” Chu Feng said humbly. “I’m only approaching Dual Constant Venerable, still some distance from the Chaos Dao Fruit.” Yet, such words made others want to beat him to death.
“Don’t tell me that when you become a Great Chaos-level evolver, you’ll be able to contend with decayed Cosmic-level old monsters!” Long Dayu asked skeptically.
“I’ll try my best!” Chu Feng replied.
The strange dragon: “…” He actually wanted to say, “Can’t you just stop bragging? I really want to beat this ‘De’ generation to death!”
The Yang Realm was no longer peaceful. The moment the morning glow rose, many old monsters were disturbed, their minds uneasy. In their ancestral halls, supreme runes manifested, indicating a certain will!
“The Yang Realm is going to be unified…” an old monster muttered, trembling repeatedly.
On this clear morning, even Chu Feng and his group knew. Although they weren’t from an immortal orthodoxy and hadn’t received the decree themselves, they had heard the news. The matter had too great an impact, and the news had spread!
“What exactly is going on? We need to understand it clearly. This is a grand trend; we cannot go against it, we must follow the flow!” Old Gu said.
“The top ten races, the highest-ranked orthodoxies, surely know the truth. We need to inquire with them,” said Qi Feng, the powerful being.
“This place isn’t too far from the Zhou Clan. I’ll go make some inquiries,” Chu Feng said, planning to visit Maiden Xi. It had been a long time; he should indeed visit this old acquaintance. He had always wanted to see her. Now, his strength was sufficient to protect himself in the Yang Realm, and he could travel anywhere in the world.
