Chapter 1541: The Coffin from the Ancient Era

On the other side, amidst the clash of blades and splattering blood, was the battle still raging?

This was alarming. How many years had passed for an epic battle at the very origin of the True Pollen Path to remain unconcluded?

It was conceivable that this conflict wasn't measured in years, but in the rise and fall of epochs. Countless great eras had already faded into historical obscurity, yet the battle here remained unconcluded?

This was truly horrifying!

The woman with the pristine, immaculate immortal body, her beautiful hair fanned out to obscure her face, lay prostrate on the ground amidst a pool of blood. Had she been struck down?

The mere thought was incredibly unsettling; she might have been a being from a supreme realm!

What was perplexing and terrifying was that behind her were several mysterious coffins, bearing heavy marks of time and surrounded by mottled traces of temporal decay. Whose were they?

The coffins were close to the woman and clearly had an extraordinary origin!

Chu Feng's eyes throbbed with pain. Eventually, his left eye completely split open, trickling with threads of Human King blood. Had he not quickly shut his eyes, it would have burst open on the spot.

Then, he was shaken again, and he stammered, "I think... I saw a sword light!?"

He stared, disregarding the cost, at that spot, even as his pupils cracked and threatened to shatter, just to clearly see what kind of beings were fighting.

At the last moment, he finally saw a unique sword light sweep across, entering the terrifying, blood-splattered battlefield, breaking the balance and causing chaos.

"So familiar!"

Chu Feng shivered. Was this the sword light that had once been unleashed from the depths of the First Mountain? It was remarkably similar!

Was it that individual spoken of by Nine Paths One?

Had he participated in this battle?

Chu Feng's heart trembled incessantly, but he also felt doubt and confusion. The era seemed mismatched.

What kind of battle could last this long?

Moreover, it appeared that individual had merely unleashed this single sword light, having entered impetuously at a later stage, rather than participating from the very beginning of the conflict.

Perhaps, it was merely a sword stroke unleashed by that individual during their rise, in an unknown era and an unknown world, which pierced through the long river of time and reached this place?

Because, he had heard more than once that beings of that caliber, after unleashing a sword strike, affected too vast an area, creating boundless and immense karma.

If that sword strike were to directly reverse the vast sea of time, it wasn't impossible for it to accidentally strike the other shore.

"Or perhaps, all of this has long since ended, and what I'm seeing are merely lingering traces from those times, just the imprinted battle scenes in time rippling and expanding?!"

Upon considering this possibility, Chu Feng increasingly felt that this might be the truth.

After all, the woman was dead, presumably a vanquished foe, slain by someone, which implied the battle had ended!

The mere lingering traces, the spacetime where the battle took place, were already so terrifying. Chu Feng, gazing from across the chasm, felt his very being on the verge of destruction at any moment, which was truly appalling.

Suddenly, he looked down and discovered the stone jar was glowing. Hazy golden runes completely enveloped him, concealing him within them.

Chu Feng gasped, feeling his hair stand on end, and increasingly realized that battles of that caliber were terrifying beyond belief!

Even if it was only residual traces, the lingering aura from countless eons ago, it was enough to slay any observers.

Without the stone jar, he would most likely have been directly obliterated.

He even suspected that even if a True Immortal came to this place, there would be no suspense; they would swiftly be erased without a trace, perishing without a burial place!

"What happened back then? What caused the conflict? Who killed the supreme being at the end of the True Pollen Path—the mysterious woman? Who exactly was it?!"

Questions hung in Chu Feng's mind. He urgently wanted to know that even invincible beings of that caliber could die violent deaths, which was truly terrifying.

It was easy to believe that this woman must have been the highest achiever of the True Pollen Path!

Something had gone wrong with the woman at the source of this path. Consequently, related runes emanated from her, along with terrifying curses and incomprehensible fragments of 'dao' principles, contaminating everyone along the entire path.

As a result, all subsequent travelers became afflicted!

If one were to infer from this, that an incident at the source could affect the entire path, then what about the Fallen Immortal King Clan? Who had an accident there? He couldn't dwell on it; it was simply too horrifying!

Chu Feng gently touched his eyes, his spirit and physical body resonating, alleviating some of the pain in his bleeding eyes.

He wanted to clearly see all the truth behind the woman, to understand who exactly was fighting.

His eyes bled again, like tears of blood, streaking down his cheeks, a terrifying crimson. His eyes were like a web of cracks, filled with dreadful fissures.

Ultimately, he saw no one. Perhaps, it was better not to see!

After all, if the deceased woman was already so terrifying, seeing living beings from that supreme realm might trigger unpredictable changes.

Chu Feng's heart suddenly pounded, and he began to focus on the ancient coffins.

"The coffins are very peculiar. Are they resting places for beings of that caliber after their demise?!"

"Or do the coffins contain something else entirely, hiding even more terrifying, unknown secrets?"

Because even the woman, after her death, lay fallen in a pool of blood, not inside a coffin. Was it too rushed, or was her identity insufficient, or did she fall here for someone who came later?

"Is it possible that after the woman arrived here, she fell because of, or in relation to, these coffins?!"

Such matters truly defied close examination; they were too horrifying. Chu Feng yearned to grow stronger, until he was qualified to cross over and thoroughly investigate everything.

Otherwise, his heart would remain restless.

He truly wanted to uncover the ultimate truth.

Chu Feng noticed that after his gaze turned to the coffins, he felt an boundless aura of terror, as if it could instantly sweep across the vast cosmos of past and present, and seemingly obliterate all heavens immediately!

He quickly turned his head, not daring to look further. What was happening?

He even sensed a strange movement from the stone jar.

It was trembling slightly, seemingly extremely apprehensive.

Yet, in the end, he couldn't resist and focused his attention again. In that instant, his heart was greatly alarmed. What was happening? It was there too?!

He hadn't noticed before, but now he finally saw clearly that he should have seen one of those coffins before.

His scalp tingled, realizing that he was now discerning a part of an astonishing and terrifying truth.

Among the coffins, there was a bronze one!

Like the others, it was imbued with an aura of endless ages. It must have existed for an unknown number of epochs, its long history impossible to verify.

Due to the great distance across the chasm, and the somewhat blurry nature of that area, along with Chu Feng's bleeding eyes, he hadn't seen it clearly before.

"I need to get a closer look. How is it there?"

Chu Feng's heart trembled violently. He wouldn't mistake it; it was *that* coffin. It was open, its lid slipped diagonally to the side, and there was more than one lid.

Because it had three layers!

"It's it, no mistake!"

A surging tide of emotion rose in Chu Feng's heart.

It was said that the individual Nine Paths One spoke of, when they departed, left seated in the innermost coffin, traversing through blood-stained worlds, and was never seen again in the human realm.

Furthermore, the Celestial Emperor mentioned by Dog Emperor and Corrupted Corpse had also taken a coffin, and for a period, had even lain inside a coffin, their fate unknown.

From this, it was clear that this bronze coffin was mysterious and significant. Not only did it have an immeasurable origin, but the individuals involved with it throughout the long years that followed were all extraordinary, peerless powerhouses.

"The coffin has three layers, and legend has it, that its significance is boundless. It could potentially influence the past, concern the present, and radiate into the future!"

Chu Feng muttered to himself. How could he not be moved, not be shocked? These were merely some of the secrets he had learned from Dog Emperor, Nine Paths One, and others, and he never imagined seeing its ancient trace here.

He was certain that what had happened at the end of this path must have occurred countless epochs ago. At that time, the Celestial Emperors and others likely hadn't even risen to prominence yet.

Even powerhouses like the Celestial Emperors, or even the individual Nine Paths One spoke of, were nowhere near as ancient as this bronze coffin. No one knew whose coffin this truly was!

And now, Chu Feng might be on the verge of uncovering unknown secrets from that era!

Whose coffin was it, truly? If traced back to the past, who was buried inside?

The runes in Chu Feng's left inner eye flickered and were instantly destroyed. Then, blood splattered. Even his Fiery Golden Eyes couldn't withstand it; while staring at the coffins, his left eye had already extinguished itself.

Unwilling to give up, he continued, determined to see through it all.

As a result, all the cracks on his other eye rapidly expanded, the runes of his Fiery Golden Eyes broke apart, and Human King blood splattered.

This was even with the stone jar's protection. Yet, he still ended up in this state. One could imagine how terrifying the desolate land on the other side of the chasm was.

If the stone jar hadn't glowed, enveloping his body with rich golden runes, even a Fallen True Immortal, had one arrived, would have been instantly annihilated!

Chu Feng did not retreat; he persisted, using his 'spirit' to observe. Instantly, his physical body was also corroded, as if it were vaporizing into nothingness.

"I saw it! Was that beyond the world? What kind of place was that? Unfathomable!"

Chu Feng gasped, the sight he witnessed threatened to make his entire being dissipate.

Was even the stone jar unable to protect him anymore?

At that moment, the stone jar rumbled, displaying an unprecedented reaction.

It had never before, almost incinerating its golden runes, covered Chu Feng and shielded him as it did today.

Then, Chu Feng saw—that ancient land!
