Chapter 1562: Six Emperors Carry the Coffin

This lineage was once brilliant and mighty, their glory illuminating past and present. Their ancestors' monumental achievements were countless: they slew ill omens, vanquished the bizarre, and pacified the world, their blood staining the heavens. As Celestial Emperors, they constantly waged war throughout their lives, their whereabouts and fates unknown to this day.

Chu Feng's voice was calm and low, as he slowly recounted some old tales. Perhaps over ninety percent of the world's population was unaware of the existence of such Celestial Emperors, and even the so-called super evolution sects did not necessarily know everything. Only True Immortals, Ultimate Beings, and powerful clans like the Heng and Dao families instantly understood whom he was speaking of – the past brilliance of a bygone era.

“Who is he talking about?” Throughout the Yang Realm, many great clans and numerous orthodoxies were using special divine lamps, bone mirrors, and rune-engraved divine walls to project the true situation of the Two Realms Battlefield. People everywhere could see what was happening, but many younger individuals did not understand who Chu Feng was referring to.

“He is speaking of Celestial Emperors whose glorious and invincible eras have long faded into time, spanning more than one epoch,” a decaying Grand Cosmos level being declared. “No true Celestial Emperor of such formidable power and creation-defying merit has appeared in later generations!” In subsequent eras, there were those who claimed the title of Emperor, but their reigns were fleeting, merely ephemeral reputations, never truly recognized as genuine Celestial Emperors. The true Celestial Emperors had all departed, or perhaps vanished, no longer seen in the heavens.

“That Celestial Emperor’s achievements overshadowed all of history, yet even his direct descendants, it is said, either perished in battle or vanished.”

“Among the Emperor’s children, only one lineage remained. Weakened by injuries and unable to fight, they eventually drifted into the Yang Realm, barely preserving the Celestial Emperor's bloodline, preventing the complete severing of their ancestral heritage.”

What a tragedy, and what fierce battles it implied – only one of the Emperor’s children remained after the wars, weakened by wounds, living in seclusion in the Yang Realm. The Celestial Emperor's bloodline was almost entirely extinguished!

“Even that surviving Imperial Child eventually succumbed to their injuries, despite their unparalleled innate talent and unfathomable strength.”

Upon hearing this, the Dog King’s body trembled. It refused to believe; surely there were still Imperial Sons and Daughters alive somewhere in the world, though their current whereabouts were unknown! Perhaps they had gone to the Heavens? The Dog King speculated, struggling to accept the brutal reality Chu Feng described.

“After the Imperial Child’s death, their descendants never leveraged their ancestors’ prestige, nor did they become prominent among mortals. Instead, they lived anonymously as an ordinary clan, remaining in the human world.”

“For more than one epoch, they participated in various great wars. Whenever a major catastrophe arose, they would step forward and fully engage the enemy.”

“Consequently, their numbers gradually dwindled, and they completely declined. They even lost almost all of their Imperial techniques, their legacy severely fractured.”

“Despite their low profile and obscurity, they were still targeted. Some secretly coveted them, seeking to hunt them down!”

“Ultimately, some attacked them, attempting to seize fragments of Imperial artifacts and to uncover the Celestial Emperor’s techniques and mysteries, brutally persecuting the clan!”

Chu Feng recounted these events, stating that they were true occurrences within that clan, learned from an elder. Some people became aware because they had vaguely heard of it, and indeed, certain Ultimate Beings and others knew the clan’s past.

“For a period, only one person of that clan remained. How tragic and desolate – though still alive, his heart had long since died. His name was Yu Shang!”

Finally, Chu Feng spoke the name. At this moment, the Dog King’s eyes turned bloodshot, its teeth clenched, and its fur bristled. The Corpse also emanated an unidentifiable aura, its entire body radiating malevolent energy, as if it could tear through the heavens and obliterate everything!

“Senior Yu Shang once had two sons and a daughter, all of whom astonished the Yang Realm. Some ranked among the top three Divine Kings, while others were unmatched among their peers. But what became of them? They all died, completely annihilated by the Yuan clan!”

Chu Feng directly named the Yuan clan as the culprit! Even though this clan was unfathomably profound and outrageously powerful, possibly having progenitors and incredible beings who had witnessed the Celestial Emperor in great worlds outside the Yang Realm, Chu Feng believed that with Nine Paths One, the Dog King, and the Corpse present, they should be able to deter them and protect Yu Shang’s lineage! After all, this might be the Celestial Emperor’s only surviving descendant. Could the Dog King possibly refrain from unleashing its fury?!

“Who among you dared to act?! Do you wish for utter annihilation?!” The Dog King felt as if it would explode. The Corpse’s eyes also flashed with killing intent, as black mist surged from its body. However, it couldn't quite understand: it and the Dog King had sensed such things before, so why had the Celestial Emperor’s bloodline not manifested?

Yao Yao's breathing quickened; she had a premonition.

“Where is Yu Shang?” the Dog King urgently asked.

Chu Feng’s expression was complex. In fact, his first encounter with the Dog King was on the Tripartite Battlefield, where Yu Shang had also been nearby. Yet, the Dog King and Yu Shang were unaware of each other, missing the chance to connect. Chu Feng only later came to understand, through various events, the legends of the Celestial Emperors, that the Dog King was their fiercely loyal follower, and through Yu Shang, he learned many intricate connections.

“Yuan clan, do you wish your entire clan to be exterminated?!” The Dog King, in a furious rage, descended from beyond the heavens, directly arriving at the scene. Its colossal body stood between heaven and earth, incredibly intimidating. Even though its fur was nearly all gone, with some bald patches, emanating an aura of decay and rot, it remained profoundly awe-inspiring. This was a dog that had followed a Celestial Emperor! Moreover, it had followed more than one Celestial Emperor!

“Yuan clan, I will crush you!” It fixed its gaze on the Yuan clan members at the front of the Two Realms Battlefield. The Yuan clan was a renowned great clan of the Yang Realm, capable of ranking among the top ten inheritances. This did not even account for their foundations in other great worlds, which would make them even stronger and more terrifying, as it was rumored their true ancestors were in secluded death-meditation beyond the heavens, not in the Yang Realm.

Before them, all present from the Yuan clan were elites. They could even be considered the highest combat power of the Yuan clan's mountain gate in the Yang Realm. Among them was a decaying Grand Cosmos level being, a Yuan clan expert who achieved his path in recent antiquity, hailed as the strongest person of that era! It was he who, in those years, masterminded the campaign against Yu Shang's lineage, killing some and banishing others to the Lesser Underworld. The Yuan clan also had another individual, an Ultimate Being from the prehistoric era, the oldest and most powerful creature of the Yang Realm's Yuan clan. Besides these two, there were also Yuan clan Great Experts and Heavenly Venerables present, though relatively, they paled in comparison to the strongest Grand Cosmos being of recent antiquity and that ancient Ultimate Being.

The Dog King, with its bell-like eyes, locked onto all of them! The Corpse also descended, its killing intent covering countless miles. Usually smiling, it now commanded slaughter! The Dog King extended a large paw, striking at the two Yuan clan powerhouses without discrimination, its vast and sharp claw covering them. Its movements were slow; if it didn't have further questions, it would have directly crushed them to death!

“Where is Yu Shang?” During this, the Dog King asked Chu Feng again.

“Fellow Daoist, please show mercy!” At this moment, a shout echoed from beyond the heavens, and a purple-gold hand stretched forth, piercing the firmament to block the Dog King’s massive paw. In fact, Yuan Sheng, the Grand Cosmos level expert of the Yuan clan, renowned as peerless in recent antiquity, and Yuan Lun, the ancient Ultimate Being from the prehistoric era, were themselves attempting to evade. They were powerful; how could they simply surrender? However, facing the enraged Dog King, they found their bodies trembling, paralyzed in place, unable to break free! Had it not been for the shouts from beyond the domain, blocking the Dog King, these two would have despaired, believing death was inevitable.

“Who dares to interfere?!” the Corpse roared, striding forward. His right hand struck out, blasting towards the purple-gold hand from outside the heavens.

“Fellow Daoist, I beg your mercy!” Aside from the previous voice, another spoke, also from beyond the domain, tearing open the sky. Vaguely, a divine bird could be seen, emanating the Dao charm of at least a Celestial King, hazy and intimidating, reflecting across the world. A terrifying existence from the Four Tribulation Sparrow clan! Someone recognized it and gasped.

“Senior, you asked me where Yu Shang is. Is this situation fine now?” Chu Feng spoke, fearing precisely this scenario: the giants from outside the Yang Realm making a move.

“No problem!” Nine Paths One declared, preparing to act.

“Don’t move, let me handle this myself!” The Dog King was infuriated. It had once followed Celestial Emperors; had it truly fallen so low, like a phoenix whose feathers had molted, becoming less than a chicken? It was old, its vital energy waning, yet some surviving powerful clans dared to oppose it?! It temporarily withdrew its large paw, fixing its gaze firmly beyond the domain, sensing several powerful auras.

Somewhere in the Yang Realm, Zihuan ran excitedly and anxiously towards a peaceful rural area, shouting, “Senior Yu Shang, guess what news I heard! Yao Yao, it seems Sister Yao Yao has appeared, in the Yang Realm, at the Two Realms Battlefield!”

“What?! That child, didn’t she fall into the great abyss of the Lesser Underworld?” Yu Shang shot up from his rattan chair, rushing out of the garden, trembling, his emotions fluctuating wildly. They were still unaware of the dramatic changes currently unfolding at the Two Realms Battlefield. However, Yu Shang could not help but want to emerge from his seclusion, to find Yao Yao, to see that child!

At this time, throughout the various orthodoxies in the Yang Realm, many young people were puzzled, asking who the Celestial Emperor mentioned at the Two Realms Battlefield was. Because, with the passage of vast stretches of time, information about the Celestial Emperors of that era and their unparalleled achievements had long been lost. Many people and events were buried under the dust of time. Some elders and clan leaders, among others, for the first time began to tell their descendants today, recounting some vague rumors they themselves only dimly knew. After countless eons, fragmented tales of the Celestial Emperors were once again recounted on this land.

At the Two Realms Battlefield, the Dog King was enraged. It felt provoked; this was not merely an obstruction but also disrespect towards the Celestial Emperors, persecuting their descendants, and still daring to target and obstruct it?!

“Fellow Daoist, there’s no need to be angry. Nothing is insurmountable,” a voice from beyond the heavens calmly stated.

“Get lost, you motherfuckers! My might is directed today; let's see who dares to obstruct me!” It shook its body, and instantly six extraordinary strands of fur fell, transforming into six streaks of dark light that tore through the void. Furthermore, the Dog King stopped Nine Paths One and the Corpse; it simply wanted to act on its own and see.

In an instant, beyond the domain, winds howled, thunder rumbled, and the divine sounds of the Grand Dao were deafening. The six strands of fur transformed into six black bolts of lightning. They vanished for a short while before returning. All of them transformed into the likeness of the Dog King, carrying a coffin from the depths of the universe beyond this world. Made of bronze, it was ancient and unchanging, eternal in existence! Six Dog Kings, swaying their bodies, arrived carrying the Imperial Coffin.

“This King borrows an Imperial artifact; today I wish to kill! Whoever desires death, step forward!” the true body of the Dog King roared.

The appearance of the Six Kings carrying the coffin silenced all heavens.
