Chapter 1636: Human-shaped Strongest

Suddenly, a streak of light, dazzling beyond compare, flew in from beyond the heavens. The energy it unleashed was like a mountain range collapsing and seas overflowing, or like magma from the earth's core erupting through the surface, connecting with the thunder and fire in the sky. Towering waves crashed heavenward, creating an utterly terrifying scene!

All the powerful cultivators gasped, as it turned out to be a blinding arrow, flying from the firmament. The energy fluctuations it generated caused the very earth to crack and crumble.

The massive black city, protected by its Dao patterns, remained unaffected.

However, several areas outside the city were disintegrating with rumbling sounds, and the ground threatened to explode completely at any moment!

The arrow flew directly into the city, streaking towards Chu Feng. Someone was attempting to assassinate him!

The assailant had given no warning, making it a terrifying cold arrow. The sudden release of such an arrow, bent from a bow, possessed astonishing power!

The arrow was so swift that many couldn't even react. Only beings at the level of Dark True Immortal and above could perceive it clearly and sense the bone-piercing killing intent.

Other evolvers merely experienced a blinding flash of light, their minds going blank before they could even comprehend what was happening.

All of this transpired in a flash. Even quasi-Grand Universe level beings barely reacted, as this was clearly intended to instantly kill Chu Feng – a terrifying cold arrow that, remarkably, had harnessed the Great Dao rules of the dark cosmos, materializing abruptly after condensing vast quantities of Dao patterns from beyond the realm!

More than an arrow, it was a tangible manifestation of Dao patterns, resembling a comet plummeting to earth, causing a massive collapse of the void and possessing an immense destructive radius!

Numerous black-armored soldiers, originally seething with animosity and killing intent towards Chu Feng, now found themselves caught in the devastation. Some exploded, and even their mountain-sized beast mounts were torn apart, transforming into a gruesome mix of blood and bone.

Chu Feng sensed the attack but remained unmoving, like an unyielding mountain. He acknowledged the arrow's astonishing power, admitting that even he would be wounded if struck.

With a soft hum, a halo of light materialized above his head, illuminating and highlighting him like a supreme being. It shimmered with flowing colors, appearing divine and tranquil, and stood out even more remarkably in this desolate dark land.

The arrow, which had descended from high above and was initially aimed at Chu Feng's crown, was now halted mid-air. It erupted with blinding Dao patterns, sending sparks of fire and lightning flying in all directions amidst astonishing sounds.

Ultimately, the arrow vibrated incessantly, each tremor tearing at the void and destabilizing the surrounding space, threatening to explode.

Yet, it couldn't advance an inch. Eventually, it remained suspended mid-air, fracturing bit by bit from its tip, until finally, with a resounding boom, it completely disintegrated.

The halo of light then shot upwards, like a nine-colored blazing sun rapidly ascending, illuminating the dim world. In an instant, it reached the firmament, moving to suppress and eliminate the assailant.

“Leng Kun, the First Archer!” someone exclaimed, recognizing his identity.

It was a knight clad entirely in black armor, mounted on a black tiger. From beyond the heavens, he continuously drew his bow, firing astonishing golden arrows towards the nine-colored halo.

Each of his arrows was imbued with unique Dao patterns from the dark cosmos, seemingly condensing the very essence of heaven and earth. They were incredibly sharp and powerfully energetic, akin to a river of stars transforming into streaks of light and hurtling forth.

Alas, no matter how transcendent his archery, he could not destroy the nine-colored halo. All the golden arrows, powerful enough to pierce the void, were shattered and disintegrated.

Finally, the nine-colored halo, swifter than the arrows, reversed the trajectory of those divine projectiles. It swiftly decapitated the archer, who was hidden within the dark clouds, sending a geyser of blood meters high.

Then, the nine-colored halo trembled in the void, and with a booming sound, both the headless corpse and the black tiger attempting to escape disintegrated simultaneously, turning into mere blood and gore.

“Is there anyone else?!” Chu Feng asked, a look of profound disappointment on his face.

A hush fell. All the dark evolvers in the city went silent. Though their eyes still glinted with killing intent, no one dared to speak or make a move; they were clearly outmatched.

Even the descendant of the peerless Immortal King Cang Qing had perished in battle, and the First Divine Archer among the Black-Armored Army's younger generation had met a tragic end. Who else would dare to enter the fray?

Those two were already the strongest quasi-Grand Universe level beings in the city, even on the verge of breaking through and transcending their current realms.

“A bit weak, weren't they? The Overlord Bloodline clan used to be formidable, but your descendant is too pathetic, shattered by three punches,” the Dog King remarked, shaking his head.

Cang Qing's face twitched. Though gaunt and emaciated, his body contained astonishing energy, capable of annihilating Immortal Kings of the same rank if unleashed!

With an indifferent expression, he spoke, “Don't rush; you’ll get your surprise. Finding opponents is too easy. In the deepest reaches of the Dark Continent, there are plenty of mutated geniuses!”

Upon hearing this, even the Dog King was startled. These so-called mutated geniuses were all monstrous beings. In their pursuit of ultimate power, they had willingly embraced the erosion of ominous forces like gray mist and black blood, allowing themselves to undergo unspeakable and unpredictable mutations, each outcome unique.

Generally, while wisps of strange substances already permeate the myriad heavens, they are not as potent. Beings of various races typically only encounter the torment of unspeakable mutation after advancing to the Grand Universe level.

However, if one becomes strong enough and their cultivation advances, they can gradually purge those ominous powers, transforming back to a normal state.

Yet, certain prodigies in the dark lands actively embrace the ominous from an early age, not viewing it as erosion but as a supreme baptism!

These were originally races from the myriad heavens. After their homelands fell, they chose to embrace the darkness as eras evolved.

“Hmm, it’s quite desolate, truly boring. I thought many formidable enemies had arrived, but it’s just him?” A few new figures appeared from beyond the arena, one of whom, shrouded entirely in black mist, spoke.

Across the dark lands, massive cities, forbidden zones, and even some suspended shattered continents and planets are interconnected by teleportation arrays, allowing for swift communication.

Now, certain geniuses among the dark beings had arrived.

“Such a fragile flower, with red lips and white teeth, has given you so much trouble that you needed to summon us for a challenge?” The man shrouded in black mist walked forward.

This was an individual who had undergone the 'baptism' of ominous power. There was a belief that such geniuses, after mutating, became even more terrifying than many truly strange species.

For it was rumored that the progenitors of beings from the strange source themselves originated in this manner.

Thus, this process of 'genius mutation' was also said to be an atavistic return, a reversion to the true origin of ominous mutations!

The black mist dispersed, and people finally saw his true form: a faceless man. He had no mouth, nose, or eyes; his face was eerily smooth and blank, a truly horrifying sight.

However, as he erupted and threw a punch at Chu Feng, his entire body's flesh parted like scales, revealing a dense array of eyes all over his face. These eyes then unleashed green beams of light that pierced through the void, sweeping towards Chu Feng—it was nothing less than a gaze of death.

An ordinary quasi-Grand Universe level being would find it exceedingly difficult to evade such a sudden assault.

Furthermore, those dense beams of light possessed truly astonishing destructive power, shattering the very sky and capable of piercing through any secret treasure.

However, Chu Feng remained unconcerned. As his eyes opened and closed, his Super Fiery Golden Eyes, refined over a millennium of transformation, now appeared even more terrifying. They unleashed a torrent of golden light that coalesced into a protective wall, manifesting traces of the Great Dao, utterly annihilating the incoming beams.

Next, Chu Feng stepped forward, passing through the light wall, and met the opponent’s incoming punch.

“Hm?” he murmured in surprise.

His opponent’s fist was equally bizarre; its fingers suddenly spread, revealing a bloody mouth in the palm that immediately snapped open to bite.

Chu Feng sneered. Without losing momentum, his fist smashed down directly. Be it a divine palm or a biting mouth, he would shatter them all!

The faceless man let out a sinister laugh, and from the bloody mouth in his palm, a bone spear burst forth, aimed directly at Chu Feng’s fist.

Unfortunately, this bone spear, dubbed 'Ghastly Bone,' was shattered by Chu Feng's single punch, its tip exploding!

“Ah…”

The faceless man let out a horrifying shriek, finding it utterly unbelievable. That so-called 'Ghastly Bone' was incredibly rare, even among the myriad mutated geniuses.

For it was rumored that if one's entire body were replaced with such bones, they would ultimately undergo an astonishing Great Nirvana and Grand Transformation, akin to the ancestors of the strange race, eventually embarking on an invincible path!

From the faceless man's back, a scorpion tail emerged, emitting a putrid stench and thick poisonous mist, striking towards Chu Feng.

Chu Feng, though moving later, arrived first. With a sweeping kick, he shattered one of the man's arms, then kicked apart the putrid scorpion tail that had shot out from behind him.

Ultimately, bloody cracks spread from the faceless man's arm and where his tail had been, rapidly consuming his body until he suddenly exploded.

“You were once human, yet now you’ve transformed yourselves into neither human nor ghost. Don’t you realize your original human form is the strongest? You insist on pursuing these so-called 'strange mutations' and accepting ominous 'baptisms.' Are you foolish or ignorant? Do you truly believe you are undergoing the strongest transformation? You are utterly pathetic!”

Chu Feng spoke with disdain, looking at the remaining few.

“Nonsense! The strange baptism is the strongest transformation. If your human race were truly strong enough, if the myriad races of the heavens were truly mighty, why would they repeatedly suffer defeat?”

Opposite him, a woman spoke. She too was originally human, but years ago, she had embraced the erosion of ominous power, drastically altering her appearance.

“Even normal people fall ill; who doesn't have a period of weakness? In those unverified ancient eras, I believe the myriad heavens must have been resplendent; they’ve only weakened in recent epochs, but they will always endure. Furthermore, I admit that the strange powers are indeed terrifying and immensely potent, but I am speaking of *yourselves*. You shouldn't abandon your true selves to pursue the calamities of alien races. One day, you will discover that even your hearts and souls will be replaced. To put it another way, formidable beasts are strong, but there’s no need for you to transform yourselves into beastmen, is there? Isn’t that disgusting?

“Moreover, I find the strange and ominous to be utterly disgusting and putrid—like decaying corpses, rotting flesh, or even excrement. They are so vile that people avoid them from a distance, yet you wouldn't possibly believe they are fragrant and mighty, actively desiring to become them, would you?”

Chu Feng continued to 'reason' there. While his words initially had little effect, as he went on, even powerful dark beings, resilient mutated geniuses who had undergone strange transformations, and even Cang Qing, felt a rising wave of disgust and nausea.

“Silence!” an elder figure roared.

“Kill him!” roared another mutated genius.

Chu Feng spoke, “Very well then… all of you come at me at once. There are only five of you left in total; it won’t take more than seventeen punches!”

Boom! Boom!…

Amidst the blinding glare of his fists, the opponents unleashed an endless barrage of bizarre secret techniques. Yet, despite the desperate roars of the decaying mutated geniuses, they ultimately collapsed, disintegrating and shattering under the powerful fist light!

“Sixteen punches!” Chu Feng declared, looking at the ground, which was now covered in ominous bloodstains.

He added, “While still weak, overall, you were somewhat stronger than the descendant of Immortal King Cang Qing!”

The gaunt, withered, and peerless Immortal King Cang Qing's face instantly darkened. He grew increasingly suspicious: could this young man have been personally tutored by the Black Dog? His words were so grating; he truly wished to strike him dead immediately!

“No rush, we’ll wait patiently. Someone will surely fulfill the young man’s wish. There’s one who once held up the heavens with a single hand and killed a descendant of a Heavenly Emperor!” Cang Qing stated indifferently.

He then added, “Coincidentally, that individual is currently in the depths of the Dark Continent, having journeyed to this very region.”

The Dog King’s heart immediately skipped a beat. He secretly transmitted, “Kid, the 'Imperial Blood descendant' he mentioned was killed most likely refers to a descendant of a Dao End Immortal Emperor. A monster capable of slaying such an individual must be one of the most powerful 'seeds' to emerge from the strange origin!”

It was genuinely concerned, fearing an unforeseen mishap for Chu Feng.

However, Chu Feng was brimming with excitement, his words filled with anticipation.

“Everyone says our epoch is the weakest, and I refuse to accept that! If such a monster appears, I’ll simply beat him to death!” Chu Feng exclaimed, looking both thrilled and eager.

Around him, the group of dark beings were left speechless. Anyone uninformed would have thought he was eagerly awaiting the appearance of a peerless beauty.

In reality, this madman was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the strongest 'seed' from the strange origin!

“Kid, are you serious? Evolving and transforming is paramount!” the Dog King secretly cautioned, concerned for Chu Feng’s safety.

Chu Feng replied, “Didn’t you say that throughout history, the true Heavenly Emperors who made a name for themselves and rose to prominence all fought their way up? I’ve finally encountered a monster I’ve longed to kill but never had the chance to fight. A being of this caliber has arrived; today is the perfect day to fulfill that desire!”

“Young man, your courage is commendable. Since you’ve made up your mind, then before that young lord arrives, quickly choose a burial ground. You can engage in a fierce battle there, and even if you are shattered into pieces, with no form or flesh remaining, at least you’ll have… died in your rightful place.” Behind Cang Qing, a Dark True Immortal spoke, his words exceptionally grating.

Chu Feng glanced at him and retorted, “You were once human, yet now you willingly pursue filth and stench, revere ominous beings, and prostrate before strange races, calling them 'young lord.' Have you no shame? Did you not grow kneecaps as a child? When he arrives, will you simply kneel immediately?! And what did you eat today—rotting corpses, or something even more disgusting? Your breath is truly foul beyond belief.”

Across from him, the Dark True Immortal’s face instantly darkened like the bottom of a charred pot, his killing intent surging skyward.

The Rotten Corpse beside the Dog King also scowled, his aged face darkening as he reprimanded Chu Feng, “I don’t like the look of you. Remember, we’re pressed for time; we have no leisure to waste here!”

Chu Feng was slightly taken aback, then awkwardly mumbled, “I forgot about you. The rotten corpses I mentioned… they’re not like you!”

“If you try to explain yourself again, I’ll just kill you!” the Rotten Corpse snarled, glaring fiercely at him.

“Alright, I understand. And I assure you, it won't take long. I’ve calculated; about twenty punches should be enough to shatter him completely!” Chu Feng declared.

As these words left his mouth, the entire area fell into profound silence. All the evolvers within the massive black city became utterly quiet; no one uttered a single sound.
