Throughout the cosmos, the Grand Dao has shattered, leaving behind only elusive fragments. In this era of ruins, evolvers are truly pitiful. Perhaps it's not even pity, as apart from Chu Feng, there are no other cultivators left in the world.
Chu Feng's eyes were profound. From him as the origin point, chains of order intertwined, rules spread, sinking into the void. Traces of the Dao faintly appeared, resonating with the shattered mountains and rivers. Today, he achieved complete understanding: there was no need to seek the Dao from the heavens; traces of the Dao existed wherever he stood, and everything his eyes beheld was order.
Heaven and Earth were torn apart, the Grand Dao was severed, and all realms became ruins. Yet, amidst the desolation, scriptures still turned their pages, profound truths circulated, and experiences left behind by ancient sages persisted. All these scriptures, profound truths, and experiences were present in the world: in every blade of grass and every tree, every flower and every leaf, every grain of sand, the cloud-like sails upon the vast seas, the mountains, rivers, and stars—they were manifest in all creation!
Who first propagated the Dao? It was our ancient people themselves who observed mountains and rivers, touched plants, delved into the vast seas, gazed at the stars, and interacted with all things. Only then did the Dao gradually emerge!
Chu Feng stood upon the earth, his body radiating light, runes intertwining. With him as the center, he outlined the Dao traces he understood. The Grand Dao is formless, illusory, and ethereal. Who is born with the ability to grasp it? Originally, it was nothingness; it was explored step by step by our ancestors, pioneered by living beings themselves. Chu Feng emulated generations of ancient people, drawing insights from mountains and rivers, from plants and trees, and from all creation!
Compared to his ancient predecessors, his starting point was incredibly high; he had already reached the peak of Immortality, with his own Dao traces interwoven into his very flesh and blood, and his soul light. Moreover, the Field Evolution Path he had chosen granted him infinite possibilities. What are Field Arts? They originate from engaging with all things in Heaven and Earth, engraving extraordinary runes, integrating the vigorous essence of plants, harnessing the mighty force of mountains and seas, borrowing the brilliant power of the stellar rivers... resonating with all creation, ubiquitous!
Chu Feng pursued the Field Evolution Path not to set up various fields in the world, but to realize his own evolution through Field Arts, transforming all things for his own use. Where does great power reside? In the vast seas, in the lofty heavens, among the stars—it is ubiquitous, inherent in all things in the cosmos! This was Chu Feng's path, the Dao suited for him. In this era of ruins, the formless Grand Dao had shattered and was no longer manifest in the world. So, he sought, explored, and pioneered his way through tangible creation.
This was not a sudden enlightenment. For many years, he had been progressing along this path; today, his feelings were simply the most intense. After clearly defining his path years ago, he had walked alone through the mists. With no companions, he carved his own way forward.
Chu Feng's eyes sparkled. His Fiery Golden Eyes, from years past, had evolved to an incredible degree. Having become a Red Dust Immortal and then reaching the peak of that realm, his eyes seemed capable of piercing the netherworld and seeing through all things in existence. He looked at the majestic mountain ahead. Even though it was broken, it still possessed a grand and magnificent presence. In an instant, this magnificent mountainous terrain condensed into a single rune in his eyes—the power of mountains and rivers.
Chu Feng walked forward, observing the mountains and rivers as if turning the pages of countless scrolls of landscapes. Various runes swiftly flowed through his vision. He walked and paused, resonating with all things. The mountains and rivers were his books; he observed their natural textures, read the essence of the power within the mountain ranges, all transforming into Field Arts runes. Within these mountains, ancient sages had once stood, leaving behind traces that had not been entirely erased by time.
Like the ancient people, Chu Feng began at the origin, extracting what he needed from all creation. However, he possessed an advantage over his predecessors: he specialized in Field Arts, allowing him to explore directly from the source. Thus, in this era of spiritual depletion, he felt no fear. He had forged his own path. In his eyes, every grain of dust, every blade of grass, and all the mountains and rivers were scriptures waiting to be read.
Perhaps many of these "natural scriptures" held little significance or lacked great power. Nevertheless, the condensed runes and glimmering textures ultimately contained a brilliant radiance. He refined, extracted, and deduced dense arrays of runes. How could he not gain something? Through daily accumulation, he was paving his own path, establishing the Dao with his very being. Around him, crystalline symbols arranged themselves like suspended stars, manifesting order. Gradually, Dao traces intertwined. All things were, in essence, the tangible manifestations of Field Arts.
Day after day, year after year, Chu Feng journeyed through the mountains and rivers, appearing before ancient ruins, continuously forging his path forward. Chu Feng immersed himself in this exploration, constantly gaining new insights. He increasingly felt that the Field Evolution Path was most suitable for him, bringing new discoveries every day.
In particular, there were numerous special landforms in the world, such as Sunset Slope. Standing there, he felt as if he was witnessing the re-enactment of a mythical era from history. In a trance, he saw a massive star, hurled from beyond this world by an immortal. It contained world-destroying power, capable of shattering order, piercing the barriers of a great realm, and was about to crash down, sinking the very earth. On the ground, ancient people drew their bows and nocked arrows. Runes blazed, infinite power surged, and an arrow pierced the sky, shattering the true immortal's hurled star in the outer domain.
In an instant, various dazzling runes bloomed, and a very fundamental pattern was projected onto this slope, forming a deadly ground. It created a unique landform, imbued with the power of the setting sun. Chu Feng was astonished. This was the first time he had fully traced the origin and formation of an ominous land through its terrain, witnessing its most fundamental essence.
Naturally, there were many special landforms in the world, known as ominous lands and forbidden zones! However, few knew how they were truly formed. Some were naturally occurring, while others involved battles of true immortals, or even Dao Ancestors and Immortal Emperors from ancient times, with original Dao traces projected onto the mountains and rivers.
"Perhaps the origin of Field Arts is that someone, at an opportune moment, observed the primal patterns projected onto special landforms, then imitated and inscribed them in other regions, artificially constructing terrains with similar destructive power. This then led to all sorts of research into Field Arts," Chu Feng murmured to himself. He delved into Field Arts not to construct such landforms, but to trace back their origins, using mountains and rivers as scriptures, extracting the patterns contained within all creation, and thereby forging his own Dao.
Time passed silently. Unconsciously, many more years slipped away. Mortal dynasties changed countless times, and some races even perished in warfare. Chu Feng tirelessly traveled across the mortal realms, observing vast seas engulfing lightning, watching great abysses swallow stars and moons, contemplating his own methods and Dao. Ten thousand years, twenty thousand years... hundreds of thousands of years swiftly passed. He appeared in various universes, stood atop the vast heavens, and lingered before seas of blood.
At this stage, he had completely forged his own path and continuously refined it. This path was bright and promising, with no discernible end.
Clang, clang, clang!
Chu Feng stood in a barren, desolate land. Runes flashed in his eyes as he peered into its essence. In an instant, he captured all the patterns contained within this deadly ground. He further evolved them and moved, causing a massive number of special symbols to surge from his skin, transforming into countless immortal swords in the void. They swept across heaven and earth; a single strike was enough to blast apart legions of true immortals! From just one special ominous land, he had comprehended such a terrifying attack method. This was Chu Feng's path: comprehending all things in Heaven and Earth, then further deducing and sublimating them to forge his own Dao.
One million two hundred thousand years had passed since the great decisive battle. Chu Feng sighed, noting that in all those years, he had not encountered any other evolvers. The long passage of time had allowed him to accumulate a sufficiently profound foundation. He felt he should now be able to break through to the Immortal King realm. In fact, he had felt this way before, but had never attempted the breakthrough, consistently dedicating himself to expanding and perfecting this system. For him, the Field Evolution Path was too crucial, especially in its early stages. It could not tolerate the slightest flaw; he had to iron out this path and deduce it to its absolute limit before attempting a breakthrough. A path no one had ever trodden required his repeated scrutiny and refinement.
In the following years, he traveled through various universes, reading the natural patterns of all things, creating and organizing the core principles of his scriptures. He thoroughly completed and matured the cultivation methods from the mortal stage all the way to the peak of the Red Dust Immortal realm. Not only that, but he had also nearly explored the path to the Immortal King level. When he sat in meditation, countless Field Arts symbols swirled around him. He himself was the Dao, with order intertwining and laws spreading, as if he were opening up heaven and earth. Wherever he stood became a principle of the Dao, manifesting an unrivaled scripture.
Yet, he still did not attempt the breakthrough. Instead, he chose a tranquil spot and took out the stone jar and that seed. Throughout the long years of forging his path, as he journeyed through one great world after another, he naturally collected many rare and precious exotic soils, storing them in the jar. The seed took root, sprouted, and began to grow, transforming into a large tree. When its flower buds bloomed, crystalline pollen filled the sky, and countless spiritual particles danced, engulfing Chu Feng.
The pollen today corresponded to the Red Dust Immortal level, but as he expected, it did not cause him to undergo a transformation. His flesh, blood, and spirit remained unchanged. He nodded secretly. This proved that he truly stood at the pinnacle of this realm, having evolved to a point where he could grow no stronger without breaking through. He had transcended the Pollen Path. His current Field Evolution Path was powerful and complete enough that even this seed had lost its significance to him, though perhaps he could still use it, as he did today, to test himself.
After one million two hundred and fifty thousand years in the era of ruins, Chu Feng, having established himself as the Dao, bathed in shimmering light, powerfully broke through and officially entered the Immortal King realm!
