Chapter 918: Trial of the Ultimate Weapon

A harsh, metallic clanging echoed through the void, sparks flying everywhere.

The little Celestial Dog's gaze was exceptionally sharp and intimidating. Having cultivated the 'Heavenly Eye,' its vision far surpassed that of many so-called 'heaven-blessed geniuses' in the netherworld.

The Celestial Dog clan's bloodline is rare, yet every member is exceptionally powerful. Typically, even as pups, they begin to follow divine beings.

This illustrates the strength of their lineage; powerful figures from all realms are eager to raise one, but their extreme rarity makes them incredibly difficult to acquire.

A thousand miles was a trivial distance for Saint-level evolvers. They arrived instantly before the City of Light and Death. The sight of the endless corpses deeply shocked and horrified the group.

"Woof, where am I? This feels like the legendary Purgatory, a path perhaps only walked by the deceased blessed with immense destiny?"

Not everyone has the chance to visit this place. Some Heavenly Venerates in the Yang Realm believe it isn't naturally formed, but rather suspected to have been constructed by ancient, unfathomable powers.

Ordinary people cannot access this place due to the terrible rules and order that govern it.

"Damn it, Purgatory! Even Heavenly Venerates haven't been here, so how did I stumble upon it? I..." The little Celestial Dog grew fearful.

However, it quickly regained its composure. Its true form hadn't entered the City of Death, nor was it dead, nor had it embarked on the path of reincarnation. What was there to fear? As long as it didn't recklessly rush inside, there should be no danger; it could simply retreat the way it came.

It knew little about Purgatory; such knowledge was reserved for terrifying, supreme beings. It had only ever overheard mere "scraps" of information on one occasion.

In the Yang Realm, the hierarchy is extremely strict; many matters are entirely inaccessible below a certain level.

Chu Feng retreated, drawing closer to the City of Light and Death, and hid behind a pile of corpses. He knew the strange dog in the distance had detected him; its Heavenly Eye and remarkably keen sense of smell, befitting its canine lineage, made it an unavoidable presence.

In an instant, he recognized it. Having tormented the souls of Wu Chengtian, Cheng Wei, and others with the Nine Nether Corpse Fire Lamp, he had learned of their masterminds, and rage immediately filled him.

He knew this was a creature from the Yang Realm, and it was their command to massacre the Great Dream Pure Land and seize the breathing technique that had led to Qin Luoyin's tragic death.

"Scum, rat, get over here! A divine primate has arrived; aren't you going to come and greet it?"

"Scum? Rat?" Chu Feng's face turned icy at the words. Even a dog from the Yang Realm was this arrogant, casually insulting evolvers from the Netherworld Universe. It was utterly outrageous.

Chu Feng ignored the creature, instead checking his possessions, always ready to slay the dog.

"You dirt rat, are you deaf? Didn't you hear the summons from a powerful member of the Heavenly Clan?" a Sub-Saint roared, charging into the area with a fierce aura, flattering the Celestial Dog clan as the Heavenly Clan.

A servant of a dog, willingly enslaved, made Chu Feng's eyes grow even colder. In this era, some people lived worse than dogs, and some were even less significant than dogs—a truly lamentable state of affairs.

What was even more tragic was their apparent willingness to be a dog's servant.

Chu Feng arranged his items, took a few steps forward, and retorted, "You beast, born of a bitch, parading around with humans pulling your carriage and acting like a human-dog hybrid—do you actually believe you're no longer a dog?"

Upon hearing this, the little Celestial Dog's fur bristled, it bared a mouthful of fangs, and its eyes turned dangerously cold, staring at Chu Feng as if he were already dead.

"My servants, which of you will bring me this rat? Those born in the netherworld's mass graves are all idiots, always arrogantly believing themselves to be geniuses, but what are they truly? In the Yang Realm, they're nothing but useless trash!"

Upon hearing the little Celestial Dog's chilling words, a Sub-Saint immediately stepped forward and shouted, "Chu Feng, aren't you going to prostrate yourself before the Heavenly Clan's envoy? Don't invite disaster upon yourself."

Chu Feng ignored him; what was there to say to someone so willing to be a dog's servant?

"Heh, you act so self-righteous now; let's see how you beg for mercy in a moment!" the Sub-Saint sneered, then asked the two Saints beside him for assistance. They approached, armed with powerful weapons, intending to apprehend Chu Feng.

Although aware that Chu Feng had killed several Saints, they remained fearless. With the little Celestial Dog accompanying them, they felt it was worthwhile to adopt an offensive stance, even if they might not ultimately prevail.

Swish, swish, swish! A Sub-Saint and two Saints charged forward, but midway, they exploded into blood and bone. They had shattered upon encountering the terrifying murderous intent and vital energy emanating from an Immortal Phoenix nearby.

It wasn't that they hadn't sensed the horror deep within the pile of corpses; rather, seeing Chu Feng standing there unharmed, they mistakenly assumed their own safety.

Reality, however, was brutally unforgiving: Chu Feng could stand there, but they could not!

"Hmm, you possess a supreme treasure!" The little Celestial Dog's eyes gleamed. Though it didn't directly sense anything, the stark contrast—its servants were dead, while Chu Feng remained unharmed—allowed it to draw a clear conclusion.

It showed no concern for the deaths of the three, which sent a chill through the remaining five. However, it was a path they had chosen for themselves.

"Netherworld rat, come over here. Submit to me, and I'll take you to the Yang Realm, offer you a splendid path, and grant you a supreme opportunity to escape this putrid and chilling environment forever. How does that sound?"

The little Celestial Dog shouted, wagging a large paw at Chu Feng.

Chu Feng's expression was frosty. He declared, "You truly are a dog, an arrogant creature that looks down on others. You have no right to be so haughty in my presence. What if your master arrives? You mongrel!"

He genuinely couldn't tolerate the little dog; it spoke so uncivilly, he couldn't help but retort.

"Your name is Chu Feng, isn't it? Are you looking for death? Or are you looking for death?!" The little Celestial Dog grew even more chilling, its face stretched into a long, menacing scowl, its fur trembling as it stared him down.

Chu Feng replied, "Let your master come find me. As for you, a mere dog, don't bother. If you dare spout such nonsense again, I'll beat your human head into a dog's head!"

At first, he was filled with rage, but by the end, he couldn't help but laugh; there was no need to beat it into a dog's head, for it already was one.

The little Celestial Dog's face darkened. "I will absolutely kill you, and make you wish for death but unable to find it. I'll annihilate your entire clan! That woman you held, was she your wife? Ha ha, good riddance, truly satisfying. Let me tell you, I will kill everyone connected to you. She was the first, and many more will die!"

Chu Feng didn't hesitate. In this region, he wanted to test the full power of the peculiar gray substance. He pulled the stopper from his green gourd and declared, "You Yang Realm dog, today I'll exterminate you, and another day I'll kill those who raised you—not a single one will be left alive. I'll cut them all down!"

This was Purgatory, so he felt no compunction about unleashing the mysterious substance; he wasn't afraid of contaminating anything. Thus, he readily deployed this decisive trump card. It was time for a real-world test!
