Chapter 4638: The Wonderful Use of the Law of Cause and Effect

Deep within the Immortal Chaos Tomb, lay a vast, endless yellow desert. The sky above was crimson, with numerous fiery clouds drifting high up, and countless white ice cones suspended in the void.

Ripples appeared in a section of the void, forming a massive vortex from which Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan emerged. They were disheveled but otherwise unharmed.

"This place should be safe now, right?" Wang Changsheng asked, his face full of caution. They had accidentally triggered a lightning-elemental restriction earlier. The restrictions here were far more potent than those in Immortal Fall Valley. If they hadn't cultivated top-tier immortal bodies and were merely ordinary Grand Unity Golden Immortals, they would have perished under the restrictions, even with mastery over spatial laws.

Wang Ruyan had used spatial laws to tear open a void and escape into it, but they landed in an area heavily laden with restrictions, immediately encountering another attack. She had no choice but to use spatial laws again, and the two of them fled into the void.

Wang Changsheng extended his divine sense to scan every inch of the area, while Wang Ruyan activated her Li Fire True Eyes for detection. "For now, there are no issues here. I hope we don't trigger any more restrictions; they are far too intricate," Wang Ruyan said.

"There's something good beneath the desert, very important to me. It's right under your feet," Qing Xuan's voice echoed in Wang Changsheng's ear.

Wang Changsheng was surprised. "Something Qing Xuan needs is beneath my feet?" Wang Ruyan understood immediately. She reached out her right hand into the void, and a massive void appeared, accompanied by a powerful suction force. The yellow sand beneath Wang Changsheng's feet was pulled into the void. The rest of the yellow sand remained perfectly still, as if held in place. Soon, a large cave emerged, revealing a faint yellow glow within.

Wang Changsheng grabbed at the yellow light with one hand, and it flew towards him, revealing a rusty yellow flying dagger. Its hilt was missing. "Is the material used to forge this dagger very valuable?" Wang Changsheng asked. "You could say that," Qing Xuan replied, flying out from Wang Changsheng's sleeve.

Qing Xuan took a deep breath and closed his eyes. After a moment, he opened them, exclaiming excitedly, "That's right! I escaped from this very place back then."

"Escaped? Is there something terrifying here?" Wang Ruyan asked, puzzled. "The restrictions are just troublesome. Otherwise, treasures with innate artifact spirits would have already escaped on their own," Qing Xuan explained.

Wang Changsheng handed the yellow flying dagger to Qing Xuan, who promptly put it in his mouth and chewed it like a bean, then swallowed it. "It's been a long time since I've had such a treat, haha," Qing Xuan chuckled. "Since we're rarely back here, you might as well eat well," Wang Changsheng replied. Qing Xuan nodded and flew back into Wang Changsheng's sleeve.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan flew forward at a moderate pace. Half an hour later, they stopped. Ahead of them, the void was filled with numerous spatial cracks, dense and intricate like a spiderweb. Forcing their way through might trigger these cracks, but that wasn't even the most difficult part; they could clearly sense that this section of the void was unstable.

"Wait, there's something good in the void to the southwest," Qing Xuan's voice announced. Wang Ruyan stretched her right hand into the void, and ripples spread in the southwest, followed by the appearance of a large void. Half a flying dagger, emitting a faint yellow glow, flew out from it and landed in Wang Ruyan's hand.

"Is this part of a set?" Wang Ruyan asked in surprise, handing the half-dagger to Wang Changsheng. The blade was covered in tiny cracks, and its tip was missing.

Wang Changsheng observed it closely. A dazzling green light surged from his palm, enveloping the half-dagger—the Law of Karma! They could clearly see five green threads on the half-dagger; these were karmic lines, suggesting there might be five more identical flying daggers. "It's indeed a set of immortal artifacts! And there are five more!" Wang Changsheng exclaimed.

All things are subject to karma. These five karmic lines could connect to other daggers, to their owner, or even to the artifact furnace that forged them. If the owner had perished, the karmic line connecting to them would disappear. If the artifact furnace were destroyed, that line would also vanish. Given the current circumstances, it was highly probable that the five karmic lines referred to other daggers. Qing Xuan had consumed one, so that particular karmic line had disappeared.

"Are they nearby then?" Wang Ruyan wondered, activating her Li Fire True Eyes to search, but found nothing. "Let's check other areas. Hopefully, we can find the rest of the daggers," Wang Changsheng said. The risk of forcing their way through the unstable void ahead was too great, so they changed direction.

Half a day later, Wang Changsheng, Wang Ruyan, and Wang Tunian appeared before a steep, black peak. A massive black thundercloud hovered over its summit, crackling with lightning, and the ground below was heavily pitted.

Wang Ruyan reached into the void with her right hand, and a wooden block emitting a faint green light flew out from a giant pit and landed in her hand. The block had some patterns on its surface, and she handed it to Wang Changsheng. "This appears to be a fragment of a top-grade immortal artifact. A major battle must have taken place here, though I don't know when," Wang Changsheng analyzed.

"There's something I need on the mountain, possibly another flying dagger," Qing Xuan stated. Wang Tunian's eyes immediately flared with a dazzling yellow light as he looked towards the black peak, then nodded and said, "Master, there's a yellow flying dagger in a giant pit on the summit."

Wang Changsheng summoned a Golden Immortal-stage puppet beast. As it reached the peak, a startling peal of thunder erupted. The black thundercloud churned, and an immensely thick black lightning bolt tore across the sky, striking the puppet beast in a flash. The black lightning engulfed its form. Soon, the black lightning dissipated, revealing the puppet beast completely motionless. "Soul-Annihilating Immortal Lightning! The beast spirit refined into the puppet has been destroyed," Wang Changsheng frowned, noting that this type of immortal lightning specifically targeted and was extremely potent against souls.

He retrieved the puppet beast and strode towards the mountain. The moment he appeared on the peak, a thunderous roar echoed through the heavens and earth. A massive bolt of Soul-Annihilating Immortal Lightning descended, striking at Wang Changsheng. Wang Changsheng projected a colossal Tai Chi diagram with his right hand, blocking the incoming lightning. Peals of thunder continued to reverberate as more bolts of Soul-Annihilating Immortal Lightning struck, all of which Wang Changsheng fended off using the Law of Yin-Yang. As he reached halfway up the mountain, the black thundercloud churned, and an incredibly thick golden lightning bolt tore across the sky. It shot out and instantly appeared before Wang Changsheng, striking the Tai Chi diagram. The diagram wobbled, then spun rapidly, causing the golden lightning to vanish.

Wang Changsheng quickened his pace, reaching the summit. There, he saw a giant pit from which he excavated a yellow flying dagger without a hilt, its blade covered in numerous fine cracks. He quickly descended the mountain, a look of delight on his face.

"I was right; there are other daggers," Wang Changsheng said with a smile. "Five karmic lines mean at least four more," Wang Ruyan noted. Wang Changsheng nodded. They left the area and moved to other locations, hoping to find the remaining flying daggers.
