Chapter 4704: Five Hundred Thousand Years

Time flew by, and 500,000 years passed.

Deep within the Hunxie King Mountain Range, Xiang stood high in the sky, looking out at the distant nine-colored thundercloud.

Lightning flashed and thunder roared. One after another, thick nine-colored immortal lightning bolts ripped across the sky, striking a giant valley below.

The thunderclap was incessant. Brilliant nine-colored lightning illuminated the entire area in shades of nine colors. Air waves surged like tides, and dust filled the sky.

Soon after, the nine-colored thundercloud transformed into a gigantic nine-colored thunder phoenix, its body enveloped by countless electric arcs. With a spread of its wings, it swooped down from high above.

Kui stood in a massive, smoke-emitting crater, several small streaks of blood visible on its body.

It unleashed a punch, and a giant golden fist flashed out, accurately striking the nine-colored thunder phoenix.

The nine-colored thunder phoenix let out a shrill cry, its body trembled, and then it exploded. A massive nine-colored thunder sun appeared in the sky, the ground shook violently, large cracks appeared, and smoke billowed everywhere.

Not long after, a resounding laugh echoed through the heavens and earth. Before the dust could settle, Kui flew out of the smoke and landed in front of Xiang.

Kui's body was covered in blood, its aura was weak, and a burnt smell emanated from it.

"Excellent, hahaha! Our Hunxie King Tribe now has its second Dao Ancestor," Xiang exclaimed excitedly.

Xiang had achieved Dao through the Law of Fire. Nine-colored chaos beasts had weaker physical bodies, so their lightning tribulations for achieving Dao through ordinary laws were weaker. Ten-colored chaos beasts had stronger bodies and could achieve Dao through special laws. Unlike immortals who could use external objects to overcome tribulations, chaos beasts had to rely entirely on themselves to withstand the Dao Ancestor lightning tribulations.

"It's all thanks to the ancestor's guidance; otherwise, your grandson wouldn't have been able to advance to Dao Ancestor," Kui said humbly.

Kui spoke modestly. It was quite remarkable that it had achieved Dao through the Law of Power, considering that most Dao Ancestor-level chaos beasts achieved Dao through ordinary laws.

"You have the potential to cultivate a Chaos Body. If you truly reach that stage, our Hunxie King Tribe will be the strongest tribe," Xiang stated.

Xiang explained that when a chaos beast advances to Dao Ancestor and continues to cultivate its physical body, it has the opportunity to achieve a Chaos Body. The term "Chaos Body" is what chaos beasts use, but it is essentially a Dao Body. None of the current Dao Ancestors among the chaos beasts had yet cultivated a Chaos Body, which highlighted how difficult it was to achieve.

"That depends on Lord Teng; relying solely on secluded cultivation won't be enough," Kui said.

Kui explained that for them to significantly increase their strength, they would still need the Ten-Direction Mother-Child Pagoda, as self-cultivation alone had limited effect.

"Lord Teng is searching for fragments of Dao artifacts. If he finds them, perhaps he would be willing to help me cultivate a Chaos Body," Xiang said.

Xiang paused, then added, "Alright, you should rest well first. I will keep your advancement to Dao Ancestor a secret. During the Immortal-Chaos War, we'll show the immortals a thing or two."

"Yes, Ancestor," Kui replied.

Kui agreed.

Azure Lotus City, Azure Lotus Peak.

Wang Changsheng, Wang Ruyan, Wang Qiulin, and Wang Qingfeng sat in a green stone pavilion, conversing.

"Shen Long has advanced to Grand Luo Golden Immortal. I knew that young man had great potential," Wang Qingfeng said with a smile. "Is he not planning a celebration?"

"I don't know. The news of his advancement to Grand Luo Golden Immortal was brought back by our clansmen. I haven't heard anything about him holding a celebration. If he does, I'll go to congratulate him," Wang Qingfeng replied.

Wang Changsheng suggested, "For him to come this far from being a mortal fisherman, he wouldn't have even entered the cultivation world without Qingfeng's guidance back then. He is grateful, and we shouldn't treat him unfairly. If Shen Long holds a celebration, we can send him a bottle of Dragon Marrow Pills."

Wang Qingfeng nodded, as that was exactly what he had in mind.

"I can cast a divination for him!"

Wang Qingfeng was only Shen Long's nominal master; they hadn't held a formal apprenticeship ceremony, so they weren't officially master and disciple. However, their relationship was no different from one.

Wang Yixin walked in and said to Wang Qiulin, "Ancestor Qiulin, Fairy Longyue is here to see you about an important matter. She seems very angry."

"Angry? I didn't hide the location of the fragments, and our family didn't send anyone to search for them. What is she angry about?" Wang Qiulin wondered.

Wang Qiulin was perplexed. When it came to Dao artifacts, Fairy Longyue had used a lie-detecting treasure to inquire about the locations of the Dao artifact fragments. Wang Qiulin wasn't entirely confident he could conceal the information, so he didn't. Otherwise, he would definitely have hidden the existence of one fragment.

"Go and find out," Wang Changsheng instructed. "When a general comes, a warrior blocks him. We truly didn't send anyone to look for the Dao artifact fragments, so it's not our concern if she can't find them. Qiulin, go meet with her."

Wang Qiulin acknowledged and rose to leave.

"According to the divination, two fragments are in dangerous areas of the Chaos Continent, and one is in a dangerous area of the Qianhan Immortal Realm. Logically, it should be easiest for them to find the fragment in the Qianhan Immortal Realm," Wang Ruyan said.

"It's hard to say. Since she came here, something must have gone wrong," Wang Changsheng replied.

Half a quarter of an hour later, Wang Qiulin returned.

"Did she come for the Dao artifact fragments?" Wang Changsheng asked.

Wang Qiulin nodded and said, "That's right. They haven't found the Dao artifact fragments located in the dangerous areas of the Chaos Continent yet. They went to the Qianhan Immortal Realm to search for that particular fragment, but Grand Luo Golden Immortals fought fiercely at the site, and that fragment went missing. She thought our family had intercepted it and came here to investigate. However, we didn't do anything, and the Immortal Measuring Compass showed no abnormalities. She took out another fragment and asked me to divine its location again. That fragment has drifted into a realm within the Eastern Profound Continent Realm Cluster of the Immortal Realm."

"They don't know which Grand Luo Golden Immortals fought fiercely at the site?" Wang Changsheng asked.

"No, they don't," Wang Qiulin replied. "They analyzed the traces left at the scene and concluded it was caused by Grand Luo Golden Immortals clashing, but they couldn't find any effective clues. They assumed we were responsible, which is why she came to question us."

"Since we didn't go, let her investigate whatever she wants. This way, they can only place their hopes on the Immortal-Chaos Tomb and the Myriad Demon Tomb," Wang Changsheng stated.

Wang Qiulin nodded and said, "Exactly. Whether they can find them or not depends on their luck. In any case, my divination results were correct."

"Two Dao artifact fragments were lost in the realm boundaries! What a pity," Wang Ruyan said with a tone of regret. "Who knows where they'll be swept by the spatial storms. If they get swept into the lower realms, we might have a way to obtain them."

Realm boundaries were not static; spatial storms were frequent, and Dao artifact fragments were constantly moving, making them even harder to find.

"To find other Dao artifact fragments, I need fragments of the Ten-Direction Soul Exterminating Blade for divination. Otherwise, just a name and function aren't enough."

After chatting for a while, Wang Qiulin and Wang Qingfeng bid farewell and left. Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan also entered a secret chamber to craft talismans and refine artifacts.

They were stuck at a bottleneck, and mere arduous cultivation wouldn't resolve it. They planned to craft talismans and refine artifacts to see if that could help them break through.
