Chapter 4790: The Primordial Dao Stone

A continuous range of rolling crimson mountains stretched into the distance. From deep within them, deafening explosions echoed, causing the ground to tremble slightly as clusters of immortal light flared high in the sky.

Deep within the mountains, Wu Nianhong and Cai Ling were engaged in a fierce battle with a giant, humanoid ten-colored chaos beast. Wielding a large red axe, the beast was locked in combat with them.

The ten-colored chaos beast was clearly not as strong as them. As time passed, its body accumulated more and more wounds, but each time, dazzling ten-colored immortal light erupted from its form, healing the cracks. As time wore on, the chaos beast's recovery rate slowed considerably, and its chaos armor became riddled with cracks.

Wu Nianhong conjured a massive golden peak, continuously swirling with light, and hurled it towards the ten-colored chaos beast. The chaos beast quickly swung its red axe to meet the attack. With a dull clang of metal on metal, the red axe collided with the golden peak, causing the ten-colored chaos beast to sink halfway into the ground. More cracks appeared on its chaos armor, and then a red halberd flew out, striking the beast. This final blow was the last straw; its chaos armor shattered, and the ten-colored chaos beast's head was severed.

The golden peak then smashed the ten-colored chaos beast into a bloody pulp, shaking the ground violently.

Wu Nianhong retracted his spell, and the golden peak rapidly shrunk, flying back into his sleeve and vanishing.

"It's a good thing I ran into you, cousin," Cai Ling said.

"It's better to call me Fellow Daoist Wu," Wu Nianhong reminded her. "It wouldn't be good if others found out." He went to the corpse of the ten-colored chaos beast and put it away. However, when he tried to retrieve it, his storage space was empty.

"It was an illusion again!" Wu Nianhong said, frowning.

"Let's continue forward," Cai Ling suggested. "We've been here for a while; perhaps we're close to the core area."

Wu Nianhong nodded, and the two flew forward.

After flying for three quadrillion li, they appeared above an open expanse. There, they saw a magnificent colossal city with endlessly stretching city walls that disappeared from view.

"What is this place? The core area?" Cai Ling wondered.

Cai Ling released a third-tier immortal puppet to investigate, but it found nothing unusual. They arrived at the city gate and attacked it. After a series of massive explosions, the city gate remained completely unharmed.

"What kind of restriction is this! It's so powerful!" Cai Ling exclaimed with a frown.

"I'll try something else..." Wu Nianhong began. Before he could finish speaking, the city gate opened automatically. Before they could figure out what was happening, a powerful suction force emerged, pulling them uncontrollably into the city. After they were drawn into the colossal city, the gate closed behind them.

On a vast, boundless glacier, Wang Mengbin and Wang Yidao stood on an open patch, gazing at a distant peak ahead.

"The restrictions here are very strong," Wang Mengbin said. "We shouldn't try to force our way through. Even if we have cultivated Dao bodies, some powerful restrictions can still kill us."

"Alright," Wang Yidao agreed.

They took a detour and left the area.

In a vast, endless green bamboo forest, a huge explosion rang out, and a massive golden light shot into the sky. Countless green bamboo stalks were blasted away by a powerful air current, disintegrating into countless wood shavings before they even landed. A streak of golden light flew out from the bamboo forest and landed on the ground. The light receded, revealing Han Long's figure.

"What is this place! A city," Han Long muttered, gazing at the distant colossal city with a deep frown. He intended to fly into the air to investigate the city's situation, but as soon as he was ten feet off the ground, he automatically landed.

"A no-fly restriction!" Han Long frowned, then extended his divine sense, intending to scan the city's interior, but it was blocked by an invisible force. He looked into the distance and saw a dark figure flying towards him. Not long after, Wu Yueying appeared in his sight.

"Madam Wu! It's you!" Han Long exclaimed.

"Fellow Daoist Han, do you know where this is?" Wu Yueying asked.

"I don't know," Han Long replied. "There's no plaque above the city gate, so it seems this isn't the main entrance. How did you get here?"

"I passed through an area with powerful restrictions and discovered this city," Wu Yueying explained. "I was looking for clues around the city and didn't expect to run into you. Where's Fellow Daoist Jin?"

"I haven't encountered him," Han Long replied, puzzled. "And have you not met the two Fellow Daoists Wu?"

"No," Wu Yueying replied. "This place is quite strange. Most of the living beings I've encountered are illusions, but immortal medicines, immortal wood, and artifact refining materials are real. I don't know if this colossal city before us is an illusion, but if it's not, the control hub is likely located here."

"Since we've met, let's explore it together!" Han Long suggested.

Wu Yueying did not refuse and agreed.

They arrived at the city gate and attacked it. After a series of massive explosions, the city gate remained completely unharmed. Just as they felt puzzled, the city gate opened automatically, and a powerful suction force emerged, pulling them into the city. The city gate then closed automatically.

Inside Tai Chu City, in a certain secret chamber, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan were attacking a stone wall. Strangely enough, even with the Sky-Shaking Staff and Immortal-Slaying Mirror, they couldn't break free; the restrictions here were simply too strong.

"What in the world is this place? It's so bizarre," Wang Changsheng said with a frown. If it was controlled by chaos beasts, none had appeared so far. If it was controlled by humans, no one had contacted them. Was it simply designed to trap them here?

"This is trouble," Wang Ruyan said with a frown. "We can't contact our clansmen, and it will be difficult to inform them."

Just then, the door opened automatically, and they walked out, appearing inside the city. They saw a bluestone arena with an oval-shaped ore floating above it.

"Dao Ancestor-level chaos beasts! So many of them," Wang Ruyan said with a frown.

There were thirty-six secret chambers in the city, and their doors opened one after another, releasing chaos beasts and immortals, including Grand Unity Golden Immortals and Dao Ancestors.

"Yuebin! You're really here," Wu Yueying exclaimed, her gaze falling on a refined young man in white.

"Madam! I finally found you," Han Long said excitedly, his gaze fixed on a graceful woman in a red dress.

"Kui and Zhan! What are you doing here?" Wei exclaimed, seeing two ten-colored chaos beasts.

"We stumbled into this place by mistake," one of the ten-colored chaos beasts explained. "We've been trapped here for hundreds of millions of years, and no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't escape. We've finally broken free."

Two city gates opened, and Wang Qingshan and Xia successively flew in before the gates closed.

"Gathering thirty-six individuals will activate the Grand Primordial Assembly," a cold male voice announced. "The victor will obtain the Grand Primordial Dao Stone. Those who automatically forfeit can also leave this place."

"The Grand Primordial Dao Stone!" Wang Changsheng exclaimed, his gaze fixed on the oval-shaped ore floating above the bluestone arena.

"This material is very precious," Qing Xuan's voice echoed in Wang Changsheng's ear. "I feel very familiar with it; it seems to be of the same origin as me."
