Chapter 1357: Evolution

Black holes! Why didn’t they think of that sooner?

They grew somewhat excited.

Previously, black holes were seen as realms of death, but the future held a different prospect. Black holes, perhaps, could become crucial nodes for spatial jumps within the universe!

“However, predicting the chaotic oceanic currents outside a black hole, and their precise direction, would be incredibly difficult, wouldn’t it?”

Mu Yuling quickly interjected, “Theoretically, it’s achievable, but timing is absolutely critical. One would need to wait for the currents to align perfectly, flowing along the fabric of the universe, leading directly to another black hole. Even a slight miscalculation could result in death within the chaotic sea, swept far away by the currents.”

“Do not underestimate humanity in the future,” Messiah said, shaking her head faintly. “In the Age of Dharma Decline, when raw power reaches its limits, people will inevitably focus on ‘technique,’ refining it to an exquisite precision that can accomplish such feats… Indeed, future black holes might even enable travel and ‘smuggling’ into another parallel universe!”

Both were instantly astonished. The more Messiah elaborated, the more fantastical it seemed.

They now believed the possibility of using black holes for unique, rapid spatial jumps, allowing passage to distant star systems, or even the other side of the universe. However, the idea of ‘smuggling’ into an entirely different parallel universe seemed utterly outlandish!

Consider that in the Age of Saints, had the variable of “Myriad Heavens and Worlds” not emerged, and development proceeded as usual, even Saints would have found it exceedingly difficult to cross into another parallel universe at that time! These were Saints, for whom such a journey meant a near-certain death! Yet, an eighth-tier mortal, in the Age of Dharma Decline no less, could successfully make such a perilous crossing? It was simply too bizarre to comprehend.

“Why impossible?” Messiah countered, shaking her head. “It’s merely more complex, a miracle that occurs perhaps once in countless years. Black holes, during specific periods, certainly possess the potential for crossing into parallel universes.” Messiah explained, “According to the theory of parallel universe drift, when two parallel universes slowly drift towards each other, their respective ‘vents’—black holes—also draw closer. If the opportune moment is seized, it is indeed possible to pass through a black hole or wormhole into another parallel universe.”

A jolt ran through them! Their minds exploded with revelation, their faces etched with awe. Through this description, they caught a glimpse of the vast, evolving future, a corner of what was to come. It transcended their worldview, yet paradoxically, it also made perfect sense! This was the profound mystery of the universe’s grand trajectory, drawing them into a captivating state of deduction, filling them with longing. It was too beautiful, too magnificent.

Emperor Messiah continued, “What’s more, the current speed of cosmic plate drift is exceedingly slow, with plates moving only a few hundred light-years per year. However, the future will certainly be different.” Messiah continued, uttering words that further astonished them: “In the future, as the chaotic sea’s currents become more regular and clear, they will inevitably gain immense propulsion, causing cosmic plates to drift at incredibly high speeds. The rate of drift between parallel universes will far surpass anything seen before, and the opportunities for their plates to approach one another will become exceptionally frequent. However, even with increased frequency, it won’t imply ease of crossing; the success rate will remain extremely low.”

Both listened with complete and earnest attention. It was some time before they fully processed the information, finally expressing their sincere conviction. “Thank you for mapping out and charting this grand blueprint of the future cosmos for us!”

Hera added, “Indeed, the grand vision of the Dharma Decline universe, this future era of dwindling magic, is simply astonishing! Perhaps this represents another form of glory—where the absence of rigid rules brings a closer approximation to true reality.”

“Only imperfect, immature universes can bend rules; a mature universe is complete and, naturally, closer to true reality.” Messiah merely smiled, gazing forward. “The future cosmic structure has now been fully described,” she continued. “I trust you understand my plan. You should now be clear about what we aim to establish, shouldn’t you?”

Mu Yuling nodded quickly, looking earnestly at the ruins before them. “It’s clear now: Dharma Decline! Ragnarök! This will be a great extinction event for the extraordinary beings of the prehistoric universe, and new civilizations are destined to be rebuilt upon its ruins. Our task now is to find remnants of this ruined civilization to extrapolate the nascent era of the Age of Dharma Decline…”

With that said, they fully grasped the purpose of their current mission. Since the future would inevitably be rebuilt upon ruins, finding an existing ruin would allow for a more accurate simulation. This elaborate plan only deepened their admiration.

They began to work diligently, distorting cosmic rules to unearth vast swathes of civilizational relics, which they then deposited into their personal sub-dimensional pocket worlds. In a true Age of Dharma Decline, such an act would be impossible. This was merely an early simulation of that era. Soon, over half of the planet’s surface had been effectively ‘plowed away.’

“The ruined libraries, buildings, and entire cities have all been moved into the sub-dimensional pocket world,” Mu Yuling reported earnestly.

“That should suffice,” Messiah stated blandly. “Let us return to the Outer Chaos.”

Outside the Chaos.

They stood in a desolate desert, almost entirely uninhabited. The cosmic surface was simply immense; in some of the deeper desert loess regions, it was uncertain if even a Saint had left a footprint in over ten billion years. The prosperous areas were primarily along the cosmic ‘coastline.’

Xu Zhi had found an extremely secluded spot and whispered, “The first world sandbox is now established. On those ruins, the new life forms, stripped of their bloodlines, can redevelop. As for the second sandbox, it will house the true new chaotic life, and they shall proliferate here.”

Mu Yuling hesitated. “Won’t we be too easily exposed this way? Their bodies are light-years across, unimaginably vast.”

“Then we lack a sub-dimensional space vast enough to contain them,” Messiah responded, shaking her head. “We can only release them onto this land. And once they mature, their sheer size alone will make us utterly incapable of opposing them. We will truly only be able to observe their civilization, not interfere.” The implication was clear: they would be quiet observers.

“As for them being discovered?” Messiah continued. “This place is exceptionally remote, devoid of any presence for countless tens of thousands of light-years. Even if they are discovered, it will be after a significant period… By then, they should have matured considerably, so discovery wouldn’t be a major setback. After all, a collision between the two sides would simply be an early glimpse into the future landscape.”

The two were speechless. They felt somewhat like discarded tools once their purpose was served. While they had to align with the universe’s grand trends—integrating, blending in, and becoming part of the flow—this didn't mean genuinely siding with their counterparts.

Watching the new sandbox take shape, Xu Zhi felt a sense of contentment. “That Tu Xin is truly too cautious, isn’t he? He appeared without a trace, as if he’d vanished, secretive and cunning—clearly an old trickster. The people of the Longevity Dao Palace and others are all waiting for him to stir up trouble, secretly observing…” This person certainly doesn’t play by conventional rules! He was already the protagonist of heaven and earth, favored by the cosmic tide, destined to overthrow the decaying Old Fungal civilization and unify the universe. Yet, he remained so reclusive… These days, it was one thing for the countless-year-old schemers, but even this newly born Great Sage of Chaotic Life was so cunning. Truly, each one was dirtier than the last. Xu Zhi felt certain he hadn’t read any web novels. A proper protagonist must be daring, facing countless dangers at a young age to continuously grow stronger, surpass limits, and fight against those above their rank. That’s a true, passionate protagonist…

“Young and a protagonist of heaven and earth—one cannot lack passionate ambition.” Xu Zhi shook his head and sighed, looking at the species beginning to proliferate. “Timid and cowardly, lacking ambition, obsessed with secluded cultivation, wishing to hide until reaching great accomplishment before truly emerging—you are simply unworthy to be the Great Sage of our Chaotic Life race. Given that, I shall certainly depose you, start afresh, and lead the Chaotic Life civilization of our race to glory.”
