Another ten years passed.

Only then did they begin to study the books and pictorials in the library, attempting to decipher them.

Fifty years later, civilization began to "revive," regaining some of its previous technological level and starting to develop technology and improve lives.

At the one hundred-year mark.

They had completely deciphered the language of the ruins and acquired all the essence of the former civilization. Technology was revived. They also began cultivating martial arts simultaneously.

Without the ancient civilization's knowledge, starting from scratch, it would have been difficult to achieve such perfection within a few millennia. After all, even with Xu Zhi's deliberate guidance back then, it took thousands of years for the Wizard Civilization to evolve into the Primeval Civilization, and for the civilization of Eight-Tier Gods to mature to such an extent.

“What pitiful creatures,” Emperor Messiah Monarch whispered, “I don't even know how to reverse our pathetic fate.”

Mu Yuling and Xila pursed their lips.

The disparity between the two sides was almost unimaginable. The difference could be seen in their sheer size; it was a gap that even light-years couldn't describe.

The other side, born on the Sea of Chaos, instantly knew the ancient and modern history of all universes, possessing an unimaginably mature level of knowledge.

“This is difficult,” Xila said. “After all, we are obsolete old beings. The disparity in our intelligence, physical abilities, and power is like that between humans and wild grasshoppers.”

“Indeed, 'man conquers nature,' and 'the weak defeat the strong'—those are only found in fairy tales,” Emperor Messiah Monarch said softly. “With such a stark disparity before us, it would be foolish to truly believe in fairy tale miracles. We should focus on how to compensate, or even how to barely approach and integrate into their era.”

Soon, the era of flesh-and-blood life began to develop.

In the second hundred years, they unexpectedly thrived rapidly on the ruins, restoring the planet's level of civilization. However, their lifespans were significantly shortened, with a large number of elderly, weak, and sick individuals. Their average lifespan was merely a little over thirty years before they entered full-scale senescence.

“We must have been irradiated, causing our bodies to weaken,” said one of the flesh-and-blood beings.

In reality, Xu Zhi clearly knew that their bloodlines had been severed, making them weak and feeble, harming their fundamental essence, which led to such frailty and susceptibility to illness.

Another three years passed.

They began to redevelop technology and quickly became prosperous. Barely entering the Industrial Revolution era, they also began cultivating the body-strengthening techniques recorded in the ruins of this planet.

“By cultivating, we can extend our lifespans!”

“Yes, it can change our bodies affected by radiation!”

This planet originally had its own bloodline cultivation techniques, though they weren't strong. However, when they practiced them, they felt no effect whatsoever, unable to even grasp the basics. The path of the bloodline system was thus cut off.

Left with no choice, they could only attempt to cultivate martial arts and soul cultivation. These two paths of cultivation were very difficult. They required slow, painstaking effort and vast resources, yet surprisingly, they succeeded in cultivating them and found hope.

“This is natural,” Xila said. “In the Age of Dharma Decline, the realm of Gods still exists because one can still cultivate soul arts and martial arts, two major systems that do not require bloodlines.”

In the eyes of the three, eras began to change. Martial arts experts and soul cultivation masters began to emerge, and a martial atmosphere prevailed.

However, after several years of development, an anomaly occurred. They discovered that they could surprisingly start using supernatural powers again, mastering some scattered elemental forces.

“Is this a new system? How could elemental power appear when they are cultivating martial arts and soul arts?” The two were astonished.

Xu Zhi, however, shook his head. “This isn't a new system... It's because their cultivation of martial arts and soul arts has made their physiques strong and their regenerative abilities powerful, surprisingly causing their severed bloodlines to regenerate...”

This was something Xu Zhi had not anticipated. After all, this was not a true Age of Dharma Decline. Bloodline rules still existed between heaven and earth, and as they cultivated, their bloodlines surprisingly regenerated within their bodies...

This was quite troublesome. If it were a true Age of Dharma Decline, they naturally wouldn't regenerate... But for them to regrow now, alongside cultivation, the rules of this grand universe were simply too exaggerated... This was a form of cosmic inertia.

“We need to find a way to solve this,” Xu Zhi murmured, narrowing his eyes. “With my current knowledge, I'm almost omniscient regarding the universe, so this isn't very difficult to resolve. First, use the Heavenly Dao Piano to isolate the external cosmic aura, transforming it completely into an Age of Dharma Decline... Second, re-engineer the bloodline-severing technique so that regeneration becomes very difficult after severance.”

“A two-pronged approach should work.”

Xu Zhi felt truly exhausted; while he didn't need to evolve their bloodlines, they were still somewhat difficult to manage.

While Xu Zhi was busy with this bottleneck, the other side was developing rapidly. The beings born divine developed extremely quickly, leaving Xila and Mu Yuling, who were observing in secret, utterly dumbfounded.

“This is too fast! It's almost inhuman!”

“How many years has it been? The other side immediately hit a bottleneck, yet here, a glimmer of a cultivation system belonging to chaotic beings has already appeared...”

They secretly watched the mutated chaotic lifeforms continuously develop, witnessing some truly unsettling things, yet also finding them somewhat predictable.

“No wonder His Highness Messiah cultivated our Martial God Palace back then...”

“So, our Martial God Palace's system was, from the very beginning... the great trend of future destiny.”

He introduced countless bloodline-severed beings, who had already begun to re-populate. Soon, the two original chaotic lifeforms appeared on this land.

The beings of the ruins began to reproduce. At first, they babbled like beasts or apes, unable to speak human language, running through the ruins. Several years passed. They began to communicate, learning to use some residual tools and machinery from human cities.

However, Xu Zhi soon realized it was entirely unnecessary. “There's no need to interfere at all. Their wisdom is already infinitely greater than that of some saints,” Xu Zhi quickly realized. Truly worthy of being the overlords of the next cosmic era.

They roared at each other, raising iron shovels and weapons in their hands. They had learned to use tools. Compared to the beings born divine, they were ridiculously weak and powerless. It was no wonder they were called pitiful lower life forms, like 'bacteria.' Thinking others are foolish only reveals one's own folly.

Using simple lighters, rakes, and steel rods as weapons, they began hunting in the ruins, which had transformed back into forests, overrun with vines and wild beasts.

“Ooh-aah!”

Born with knowledge of the entire universe's rules, they possessed extremely mature consciousness from birth. Xu Zhi wanted to try to guide them, to become their god of civilization, similar to the thrice-great Hermes of old. They also seemed to be born with knowledge.

“For a moment, I couldn't find a way... Never mind. The seeds have been planted; they will grow on their own. This is truly the first time a sandbox has been so relaxed,” Xu Zhi murmured.

This was cultivating enemies to oppose himself. The sky was dim.

“If I were to guide them, I might not be seen as a fool, or a being with malicious intent...”

Xu Zhi thought about it and decided there was no need to do such a foolish thing. Xu Zhi glanced at this side, then ignored it, turning his gaze instead to the incomplete ruined world.
