Chapter 2070: Annihilation

Hearing its words, Zu An was also very curious. Even this formidable demonic leader couldn't figure out the Snow Empress's origins; she truly was somewhat mysterious.

However, the Snow Empress had no interest in answering the other party's question: "At least I'm not a disgusting entity like you."

As she spoke, she seemed to have communicated with the nearby snow-capped mountains. Almost instantly, avalanches occurred on all the mountaintops. Countless masses of snow surged forward relentlessly, eventually forming a massive snow dragon that roared and swept towards the silhouette.

Witnessing such immense natural power, Zu An couldn't help but marvel at the insignificance of humanity. At the same time, he felt a certain admiration for the Snow Empress, knowing that despite being severely wounded, she could still unleash such a powerful attack.

Facing the imposing giant snow dragon, the silhouette slowly raised a hand and declared, "God said, 'Let there be light.'" The moment the words were uttered, a vast expanse of brilliant light illuminated the heavens and the earth, engulfing the ice and snow dragon. The ice and snow dragon seemed to let out a dying cry of agony, its entire body trembling violently. Enveloped by the light, its body rapidly melted at a visible rate. Soon after, it completely dissipated, turning into countless snowflakes that drifted away with the wind.

Witnessing this scene, the Snow Empress was stunned. She hadn't expected her long-prepared ultimate move to be so easily thwarted by the opponent. Zu An was also somewhat bewildered, watching as a black humanoid silhouette stood within the brilliant light curtain, seemingly observing everything below with indifference. His heart skipped a beat. Could this fellow truly be some kind of god? However, he immediately shook his head, dispelling the thought. The opponent was clearly a demon aiming to invade this world; how could it be a divine god?

The silhouette looked towards their direction and said, "You should give up now. You are no match for me. Surrendering early is your best option." Zu An, however, chuckled. "If you were truly that powerful, why would you waste so much breath on us? You're just trying to undermine our morale and scare us into surrendering." Hearing this, the Snow Empress's spirits lifted. She looked at Zu An and said, "I didn't expect this demon to be as cunning as you." Zu An was speechless. Was this woman complimenting him or insulting him?

The silhouette paused, seemingly not expecting such a retort. After a moment, it finally spoke, "I admire your confidence. If that's the case, why hide behind the hillside? Do you not even have the courage to face me directly and attack?" "You don't need to provoke me. Attacking you doesn't require a direct confrontation," Zu An said with a smile. He extended a hand, and golden, water-like ripples appeared across the sky, their brilliance in no way inferior to the silhouette's light. The silhouette let out a sound of surprise. "Summoning magic? An interesting skill." At that moment, golden weapons emerged from the void ripples and immediately flew towards the silhouette. Zu An was grateful for his Divine Rune Weaponry skill, which allowed him to control swords from a distance without having to confront the silhouette directly.

The weapons attacked the silhouette from various angles, not merely clashing head-on, but rather, many of them performed sword techniques, coordinating with each other. His specialty, above all, was the Divine Snowfall Sword. Seeing these sword techniques, the Snow Empress let out a soft exclamation, deep in thought. Zu An was too preoccupied to notice her reaction, fully concentrating on controlling the various weapons to attack the silhouette.

However, once the weapons entered the silhouette's vicinity, their speed significantly slowed down, losing their usual agility. Zu An even found it difficult to control them. "A decent skill, but unfortunately, the sword techniques are too flashy, and each weapon fights independently without coordination. It seems that a low-level world like this hasn't even seen a sword formation," the silhouette remarked, its tone filled with contempt and mockery, as if it didn't even register these attacks. Zu An was startled. In the past, when he unleashed this move, few could withstand the torrent of swords; brute force was all that was needed to break through. Now, facing a far more powerful enemy, overwhelming them with raw power was impossible. He had to rely on technique. He hadn't expected the sword techniques he diligently performed to appear so flawed in the opponent's eyes. True, the Divine Snowfall Sword was a single-user technique; using so many weapons simultaneously made it difficult to achieve a synergistic effect. The mention of a "sword formation" sparked a thought in Zu An's mind. It seemed there must be incredibly powerful sword formations somewhere in the vast universe.

"Sword formations, you say? I have those too." Zu An scoffed, directly controlling the golden materialized weapons. They flew into the air, sword tips pointing vertically downwards, and then poured down in the manner of the Azure Luan Sword Formation. Countless weapons crisscrossed and shot through the void with speeds surpassing the eye's ability to follow, instantly turning that area into a forbidden zone for life.

"Oh, quite perceptive. This is somewhat interesting," the silhouette remarked. This time, it didn't remain unresponsive as before. Instead, a dazzling curtain of light erupted from its body, illuminating an area of a hundred zhang in radius. Zu An's pupils instantly constricted because his sword formation had stopped! It wasn't truly stopped; he could feel his weapons attacking the target at extremely high speeds. Yet, to his eyes, the weapons were suspended motionless in the air. Two extremely contradictory sensations arose simultaneously, causing a flicker of confusion in Zu An's eyes.

However, being experienced and possessing memories from his previous life as a transmigrator, he quickly understood the underlying mechanism. The reason he felt his controlled weapons were moving quickly while his eyes saw them motionless was likely due to a problem with that light, which had formed a special spatial layer around them. This special space seemed to disrupt and invalidate all physical laws. What appeared to be a mere few hundred zhang in distance might, in reality, be countless folded spaces, creating an infinitely vast distance. It was similar to how a spaceship, though clearly moving fast from an Earth-bound perspective, appears stationary in the vastness of space.

"This is going to be troublesome," Zu An muttered, feeling a headache. Previously, opponents like the Thorned Bone Dragon and Ironfist Locke, with their damage reflection or incredible defense, were indeed difficult. But no matter how tough, he could at least hit them and eventually wear them down. However, this silhouette was now surrounded by layers of countless spaces, making it impossible to hit. Fortunately, he had used this sword formation to test it out. Otherwise, at a critical moment, believing himself close and unleashing a full-power, decisive blow, he would have suffered a great loss.

Just then, the silhouette looked towards Zu An and said, "You finally showed yourself." Zu An's alarm suddenly spiked. It turned out that to get a clearer view of what had just happened, he had unconsciously exposed half of his body from behind the hillside and was now enveloped by the silhouette's gaze. He instinctively tried to dodge, but to his horror, he found he couldn't move. His entire body was as if paralyzed by a binding spell. At this moment, he finally understood what the Thorned Bone Dragon had been trying to say: as long as its gaze fixated on you, it could paralyze you, leaving you at its mercy.

"It's a pity you didn't accept my offer just now. So now, I'll have to send you to... your death," the silhouette said with a cold, almost judgmental tone. It pointed a hand towards him, and a dazzling beam of light shot forth. Feeling the destructive intent within the light beam, Zu An's hair stood on end. Although his body was tempered and incredibly tough, directly enduring such a devastating light pillar would likely result in grim consequences. Unfortunately, with his body locked by the opponent's gaze, he couldn't unleash any of his abilities.

Just then, an ice storm suddenly rose from beneath his feet, coiling around him and, at the critical moment, pulling him away from the destructive beam. It carried Zu An to a nearby snow-capped mountain before dissipating, finally transforming into the Snow Empress. Both of them looked towards the spot they had just occupied. A deep hole, several meters in diameter with incredibly smooth walls, had appeared there. It extended endlessly downwards, its ultimate destination unknown. The light beam, upon impact, hadn't produced any explosive sounds, as if the ground's material had simply been annihilated.
